Wonderful condo just steps away from the Kiawah Marathon start/finish line. PS. The deviled eggs were great too!

Great weekend

Top floor, so great view of the beach over the dunes. Apt is well-equipped with anything you need for cooking. Cabinet full of the usual spices, oil, sugar. Nice touch of a bunch of deviled eggs in the fridge as a welcome; they were tasty! TV is easy to figure out. Bathroom is roomy and shower is hot with good pressure. My wife loved the decor.

Perfect for R&R - Perfect Everything

This was my first VRBO experience and the bar has been set. This property is beautiful in pictures but even better in person. "Off Season' staying is wonderful. Very clean property, nice 'touches' of treats and 'welcome' features. Great location. I love that this property is homey and comfortable. The large windows bring the beach in, the view from the bedroom is ideal. If you want a property that the beach throws up on, this is not for you. If you want calm, comfortable beauty and a real respite from your 'real' world, this is the place to be. Jeanette is an amazing host and I will be back to stay here.

Impressive unit. Amazing location with a spectacular view. This unit is very private, yet very close to the beach. Very well maintained and clean. Great getaway location! We will certainly return.

A perfect Vacation!

Idyllic Island Get Away

This condo is beautifully appointed with floor to ceiling views of the ocean. Special touches throughout. Comfortable and highly relaxing. The owners have thought of everything and then some to make this an enjoyable stay.

The Vista is a five star rental property!!!

If you are looking for a one bedroom five star rental property on Kiawah Island do yourself and your loved one a favor and stay at The Vista. You will be more than happy that you did! My wife and I both highly recommend staying here or at one of their other properties. We just returned from a wonderful seven night stay! This was our second stay at The Vista property. It is a comfortable, exceptionally clean and beautifully decorated property with elegant artwork and high end furniture. EVERYTHING that you will need during your stay has been provided. The kitchen, living room and bedroom all offer an amazing floor to ceiling view of the ocean. The beach is only a short one minute walk away! Shawn and Jeanette, owners of Kiawah Island Getaways, are great to work with. They know Kiawah better than anyone and will answer any questions that you may have in a timely manner. The best vacation we ever had!!!

We saw a spectacular video, back in November 2018 of a romantic, gorgeous condo overlooking the ocean at The Vista, at Shipwatch. We immediately reached out to Kiawah Island Getaways and inquired about it. They could not have been more helpful!! We booked Easter week, Saturday to Saturday. When we arrived and entered the condo, we realized that it was sooo much better than we had hoped for, and we hoped for the perfect place. We rented bikes and beach chairs with the coordination of Kiawah Island Getaways. We were given there cell phone numbers and advised to call or text them whenever we had a question or problem. Shawn and Jeanette Lawson, of Kiawah Island Getaways, whom I’ve never met, but spoke to or texted them each, several times over the course of the months prior to our vacation, could not have been more pleasant, helpful, professional and filled with that southern charm and hospitality. (We’re from Jersey and that’s tough to find here). It truly was the best vacation we’ve ever had. Check this place out, it’s beautiful and sooooo relaxing. Billy Newman

Our new favorite place!!

My husband and I recently spent four wonderful nights at the Vista Villa and were so very sad to leave! We came to celebrate a very special anniversary and to "unplug" and get away from it all for a while. I had been looking for a nice, quiet, romantic place where we could hear the ocean while we slept. Not only did we get all of that, but so much more! The Villa looks just like the pictures...is beautifully decorated and you can see and hear the ocean from every room and the most comfortable bed! We were also lucky enough to see the family of deer in the dunes right outside of our window!! Jeanette answered all of my questions right away and made the rental experience a breeze. :) You can literally show up with your clothes and toothbrush, they have thought of everything. Go ahead and book your romantic stay..you wont regret it! We are already planning our return trip to our new favorite place. Anita (Atlanta GA)

Perfection in Paradise

The Vista at Shipwatch is perfect in every way. From the location to the pristine condition and decor of the interior. The bed is comfortable and the linens are perfection. This was our second stay at a property managed by Jeanette and Shawn (Kiawah Island Getaways). Breathtaking units, perfectly decorated, well-maintained, very clean. Lots of privacy, and the property is also very nice. Jeanette and Shawn are super responsive and very nice. You should have high confidence in any property with which they are associated. We have already booked for a lengthy stay in summer of 2019!

Amazing seven night stay!!!

If you are looking for a one bedroom five star rental on Kiawah Island, you will absolutely love this place! My wife and I had an amazing seven night stay at ‘The Vista at Shipwatch’. The villa is beautifully decorated with elegant artwork and high end furniture. EVERYTHING that you will need during your stay has been provided. Each room has an amazing floor to ceiling view of the ocean. We highly recommend staying here if you are looking for an exceptional romantic beach getaway with your spouse. Shawn and Jeanette, owners of Kiawah Island Getaways, are great to work with. They know Kiawah better than anyone and will answer any questions that you may have in a timely manner. About Property Managers, Shawn and Jeanette Lawson (Kiawah Island Getaways):

Shawn's family discovered Kiawah in 1978 and returned year after year for two-week vacations. In 1985 we drove our VW Bug convertible to Kiawah and Shawn introduced me to Kiawah. I remember stepping over the dune boardwalk out in front of the Kiawah Island Inn and seeing Kiawah's wide, sandy beach for the first time - it was so brilliant it practically danced before my eyes. It was during this vacation that the two of us decided to set our sights on moving to this beautiful and fascinating place permanently.

In 1988 our dreams came true and our U-Haul rattled across the Kiawah Island bridge (at that time it was nothing more than a wood-planked bridge). For the next four years we rented a 1-bedroom villa, 4251 Mariner's Watch. Shawn was so thrilled to be living on the island that he applied for the personalized South Carolina license plate 'KIAWAH' (which we still have today).

In 1992, we built our first home on the island at 134 Conifer Lane. During construction, I gave birth to our first son Benjamin - he arrived 2 months early in an ambulance outside of the Kiawah Island Fire Station.

In 2001, we purchased our first villa, a 1-bedroom, beachside Seascape and Kiawah Island Getaways was born. Once we got our feet wet with the villa rental business, it was a like a fever for us. We both really enjoyed furnishing, decorating and maintaining the villas - not to mention the new found fun of meeting and talking to all sorts of people about Kiawah. Because we really enjoy what we do, other Kiawah property owners noticed and we started managing their properties as well.

Our whole family loves Kiawah and running Kiawah Island Getaways is a true family-run business. We personally prepare each villa prior to your arrival - because we want your stay to be perfect. We want you to fall in love with Kiawah too...and we know you will.
