Great time at HHI

We have been going to HHI at least once a summer for the last 35 years, and have stayed in Palmetto Dunes nearly every time. We love PD, and Windsor is probably our favorite complex to stay in - never disappoints!

Will never give Palmetto Dunes my business again

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This review is purely based on the customer service we experienced as Hurricane Debby rolled through during our stay. We never checked in, because starting the day of our arrival, weather alerts urged people to avoid the area. When we contacted the reservation office and asked for a refund or assistance of any kind, we were quickly told no. Not even an offer to rebook for future dates or a partial refund. Once our arrival date passed, there were no calls to check in with us to ensure we arrived safely, just a series of insensitive automated emails: "how is your stay so far? Call us to book additional rental needs...". The only weather related email we received was to pull all outdoor furniture inside. The lack of concern for guest safety, lack of flexibility given the major weather event, and the unapologetic nature of the individuals we spoke with during our phone calls make it feel like we just got scammed out of an expensive vacation that we didn't even get to take. Palmetto Dunes was previously our first choice when traveling to Hilton Head, but after this experience, I am confident that my family and I will never give another dime to this property. We are truly disappointed and have never experienced such a lack of customer care, empathy, or flexibility under such terrible circumstances.

307 Windsor Place Condo HHI

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great condo and enjoyed the view. My biggest issue was the elevator not working all week. My wife has issues climbing steps luckily we were 3rd floor. A lot of other guest we encountered on the stairs were not happy either. One man said it had been not working properly the week before. What would happen if you were a handicap person in a wheel chair? The other issue we had was one day as I was getting ready to shower we had no water as the water was off for about 2-3 hours. No warning at least someone could had notified guest that this was going to happen, rather than go looking the see what was going on. We have stayed in PD the last 2 years we are seriously considering considering other possibilities for next year.

Love this location

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have been coming to HH usually twice a year for the last several years. We like this location and always try to rent this condo. It's a 3rd floor end unit with a good view and suits us perfectly. This year we were emailed the day before arrival and told the elevator may not be working. That would have been a disaster for us as we are nearing 80 years old. Fortunately, the issue was resolved before our arrival so all was well. We have reported several minor maintenance issues over the years that never seem to be taken care of, but the property "pluses" outweigh the minor maintenance issues.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed at this location 3 times. First the kitchen faucet leaked. The second the hvac unit leaked. This time the water filter in the fridge was never replaced which made the ice taste like sea water. The condo was poorly cleaned. Kitchen floor was dirty and crumbs in the carpet was not picked up. Sheets smelled like vomit and dishes were not cleaned properly. We live the location but after the third time we will find a better one next year.

Love the property but golf courses need attention.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It has the right amount of space. When we stayed the AC leaked and water was all over the carpet and kitchen floor. Between the owner and Palmetto Dunes folks can't figure out how to fix it. They sent people to work on the wet carpet but if the problem is not fixed the water will continue to flow and drying is a futile effort. I can't seem to be able to communicate that enough since folks have english as a second language.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a wonderful time at Windsor Place Unit 307. The unit is clean, well maintained, nicely furnished and well equipped. We liked the layout of the unit. The location is perfect, we had two small children ages almost 5 and 2 with us and it was very convenient to access the pool and the beach. We would definitely return. We stayed at several other places at HH and as far as the convenience this one was one of the best. The complex has two pools. One for the kids that is really great. The kids pool is divided in two areas, one for the young ones that our 2 year old enjoyed and the other half for the older kids who can swim which our 5 year old really enjoyed. It was much better than the usual wading pool and made it easy for us to watch both kids at the same time and in the same pool. The second pool was more for older kids and adults. We never tried the jacuzzi as it did not seem very clean, this would be our only negative comment. The beach is just a walkway away. The water was warm and shallow without big waves (unlike the Pacific ocean where we live) which was perfect for the kids. Thank you for sharing your place with us, we really enjoyed it!
