Welcome to this newly remodeled, 8th-floor west-end penthouse, boasting two balconies with incredible water views and breathtaking sunsets. This luxurious 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom corner unit has been completely upgraded with brand-new furnishings, flooring, cabinets, granite countertops, bedding, and modern stainless-steel appliances.

Interior Highlights:

Spacious Living Room: Features a sleeper sofa (upgraded mattress), loveseat, and chairs, plus a 60" flat-screen TV. Step through the sliding doors to the expansive wraparound balcony for unobstructed views of the Gulf and The City of Destin

Deluxe Kitchen: Fully equipped with all essentials, new stainless appliances, granite countertops, and white cabinets. A separate laundry room includes a full-size washer and dryer.

Dining Area: Counter-height dining table for six, plus three bar stools, offers picturesque views through a large window or the Gulf beyond.

I will start with the good. The views are amazing, the front desk was extremely helpful, and the bed was comfortable. The bad. The pictures in the listing are deceiving. The furniture pictured in the living room is not the furniture that was in the condo. The living room furniture was worn out, and the chairs were nasty. We stayed 5 days and 4 nights, and I never sat on this furniture. If I sat, it was at the dining room table. The whole place needs to be repainted. It looks like it hasn't been refreshed in many years. There are some upgrades in countertops and appliances, but everything else is old, including tubs and showers. The trim and baseboards are in bad shape throughout. There are 9 recessed lights in the living room, and only 2 had working bulbs. The return vents were caked in dust, and one shower needed a good bleaching. I do not usually write negative reviews, but if I am going to pay 1000 a night, I expect things to be clean and nice. Also, the listing said it had an ice maker. In my experience, this usually means a stand-alone ice maker, which it lacks. The ice maker in the fridge made a few cubes while we were there. We ended up paying 4 a day at the on-site ice machine. Also, this unit does not come with chairs or an umbrella for the beach. We had to rent all of that for additional expense. Also, if you are planning for someone to sleep on the pullout sofa, bring an eye mask. The curtains for the living room were thrown on the floor of one of the closets.

Breathtaking views!!!

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Sterling Sands has been my go-to vacation spot for decades and it never disappoints. The location is perfect and I love the lower unit count, which keeps the beach from feeling crowded. This was my first time in a 3 BR unit (on the top floor). The side windows added extra light and space and the views were absolutely STUNNING!! The balcony caught more wind being on the corner and the mattresses could use an upgrade (and beach service is no longer included!!), but those are relatively small trade offs for an otherwise fantastic stay. Already looking forward to returning next year.
