This three bedroom, two bathroom sleeps (7) and is perfect for the family! With a large yard, great deck, BBQ grill and a fire pit you'll enjoy this cozy bungalow located just 5 miles from town. A full kitchen, cozy living room, and laundry make this property perfect for groups wanting to explore Seward. As our guest, we're here to help you explore Seward and Kenai Fjords National Park, offering discounts on many tours in the area!

Woodland Retreat sits on a large, private lot surrounded by trees, just a short drive from town bordering on state land. After a long day of play in the Seward area, the Retreat offers a comfortable place to relax. Games, books, WiFi and TV with Roku box are available for when it’s time to wind down or rest after a busy day.

The home and yard are yours to enjoy. There is one closet in the master suite that is locked to guests (we use it for storage of linens etc) as well as a tool shed in the backyard that is off limits, otherwise you are free to use the entire space.

There's a small cabin on property that is a separate nightly rental with its own parking. Please respect their privacy.

We do encourage guests to refrain from cooking fish inside the unit; however, we do provide a grill for outdoor cooking of your local catch. We do not allow processing of fish on property.

You will need to have a car if you are staying at Woodland Retreat. There is also a bike path that runs along the highway from town to just before the turnoff to Woodland Retreat and makes for a nice ride. Taxis are also available, but no other public transportation runs outside of town at this time.

As a free resource, my husband Clay, a local boat captain, and I are here to answer questions or help you book the perfect excursion to explore Seward and the surrounding Kenai Fjords National Park. We offer discounts on many tours to our guests.

Fun trip

Property is easy to get to, clean, and fit 4 adults and 3 children perfectly. Loved that there were some toys in the closet for the kids to play with and books to enjoy! Fire pit out back was perfect for roasting marshmallows.

Great spot

We had a great time in Alaska and this property was the perfect base camp for us. Would definitely stay there again. We actually walked around the block the morning of our last day there and came upon a grizzly so you are close to nature here for sure!

Family retreat

We had four adults and four kids with us. We were gone exploring most days but the location outside of Seward served as an excellent base. The house is quaint but could use a few updates to the beds and towels. The Kurig coffee maker had a good supply of cups but it would be better to list that it only has a Kurig and not a standard coffee pot, for which we brought ground coffee to use.

Perfect Little Alaskan Home

This property was perfect for us, my husband, adult daughter and myself. Nestled in a wooded lot in a quiet area. We heard a Bald Eagle call a couple of times off in the distance and woke up to Varied Thrush singing from the woods out back. Beautiful Stellar’s Jays made appearances several times throughout the day. The house had everything we needed.

Great Location

We only stayed for our 2 nights in Seward, but it was perfect. House was very convenient the activities in Seward. Perfect for our group of grandparents and 3 teens. House was clean and just as advertised. We would definitely stay here again.

1st trip to Seward

We had a great time in Seward, the cabin was exactly as represented clean, comfortable and priced right. Be sure to take the national park cruise in was wonderful. Being from Florida the whole experience has been amazing. On to Homer. Thanks Karl Johnson

Comfortable stay

Had a great stay at this property. The house is very nice and clean; it had everything we needed and more. We were very impressed by the owner’s communication and responsiveness. We would gladly stay here again!

Great Getaway!

This was by far the best place we have stayed in Alaska. It was very clean and had everything we needed to be comfortable. The extra blankets were especially enjoyed by out of state family members. The area around the house was quiet as well as a quick drive to fishing areas and downtown Seward. I will save this location for future rental. Nothing beats a comfortable home while being away from home.

Perfect for a family.

The home is perfect for a family of 6. It is even better than the listing. The kitchen had all amenities needed to make meals. The beds were comfortable and plenty of warm blankets to keep us southerners warm. The kids enjoyed playing in the snow in the yard. Close to all the activities in the area. Great place!

Great place to stay!

This little cabin was perfect for our short stay in Seward. The location was great; nice, quiet, and cozy. The cabin was stocked well and very clean. Communication between us and the property owners was seamless. I would highly recommend this cabin if you're looking for a place to stay while you visit the Seward area.

Moose in Yard!

Simple wooded home, and had a local moose and calf decide to spend the night in the backyard. In the a.m. they were still there, eating and lounging about. So incredible to see!

Great place!!

What a cute house!! Had everything we needed. Loved the location. We were only about 10 minutes from seward. It was great to be out of the craziness of the town!! We did the resserection bay boat tour. It was awesome! Also panned for gold. That was fun as well!

Great place for longer stay

Stayed for 6 days for work with staff. Wonderful for this purpose. Very clean and comfortable. Space allowed for study sessions in the evenings following training. Hosts were extremely responsive, easy check in, beautiful and quiet nieghborhood...not walkable to town.

Good set up

Number of beds worked out great. Good sized kitchen and living area. Quilts were beautiful. The small bathroom tub faucet handle needs fixed. Take slippers if you go in the winter- floors are chilly. Getting in the driveway was a challenge during spring break up for one of our vehicles. Convenient location for Seward activities.

Perfect cabin for a Seward getaway!

Great weekend!

Came to Seward for the Lost Lake Run, this was an excellent location, plenty of room for us! The cabin was clean and kitchen was well equipped. Will definitely stay here again when in Steward!
