Lovely Rustic Villa

This property has outstanding views, great outdoor space, nice pool and good location.The inside is basic and would benefit from a little uodating - but it was good value for money.

Overall good, the interior could benefit from a few minor details and fixes. Driveway extremely steep but once you do it once it’s manageable. The host Yanni was very helpful.

Lovely views but run down inside

We really enjoyed our week in this villa. Amazing views, lovely pool. We knew from the reviews about the 70 steps and the steep drive and these were not an issue for us. However, we were disappointed with the eating outside options. The only tables were made of thick stone and retained significant heat from the day and scratched your legs if you tried to sit under them. We ended up eating indoors instead a lot. Arthur was very helpful when we checked in. And Thalia sent us useful messages. But we didn’t receive any response for two days when we asked for help with the dishwasher breaking down and flooding the kitchen. So we had to clear up and wash all by hand instead. And the TV does not work at all. It seems there is no cable or aerial. Again, no help when we asked for it. It’s a shame but the villa feels quite neglected and the support to fix issues is not there.

Maison idéalement située à flanc de colline avec une vue exceptionnelle sur la baie de Nidri. Les hôtes sont très sympathiques et réactifs. Tout était parfait ! Merci à eux.

Fantastic views

Views from villa are amazing both during the day and night time. Loved the outside space and pool. The drive is very steep and it would be extremely hard, if not impossible, to drag suitcases up it so a car is a must. Would recommend a larger than a 1 litre car though, good run up, foot flat down and hope the car makes it to the top! From the top of the drive there are approx 70 stone steps up to the villa so would not recommend staying here if you have problems with mobility. The villa itself is nice inside but could do with updating. Having said this I would stay there again.

Excellent views and pool area, disappointing villa.

Inside the villa is very disappointing. Poor fixtures and fittings in bathrooms and kitchen. Only one socket in lounge area. Wifi non existent. Mobile phone signal variable. Beds comfy, air-con very good.

Spectacular views

Had a great time at this villa..as stated the driveway is steep followed by 70 steps but well worth it once you get there the views are spectacular..the villa itself has everything you need although states you can sleep 5 but my daughter the fifth member was sleeping on the sofa..the outside space and poll really are brilliant..would recommend

Schöne Villa in der Nähe von Nidri

Die Villa hat eine sehr schöne Außenanlage mit einer herrlichen Aussicht über die Bucht und bis Nidri. Die Inneneinrichtung ist leider bereits etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Die Ausstattung mit Küchenutensilien ist sehr einfach. Für die Kommunikation mit dem sehr freundlichen Vermieter ist in jedem Fall Google-Translator zu empfehlen, ansonsten müssen Hände und Füße herhalten... Die Nähe zu Nidri ist sehr angenehm, wenn man hin und wieder etwas touristischen Trubel genießen möchte. Wer geräuschempfindlich ist, den könnte die Nahe Verbindungsstraße nach Vasiliki stören.

Villa mit super Ausblick

Von der Lage her vielleicht die schönste Villa, die wir je gemietet haben. Die Agentur ist leider sehr distanziert. Der Eigentümer ist sehr nett, spricht aber leider nur albanisch. Mit einem Übersetzungsprogramm funktioniert die Kommunikation im Wesentlichen. Er hat uns sehr nett empfangen, mit Getränken im Kühlschrank und war uns behilflich beim Koffertragen. Er hat auch unser Auto die steile Auffahrt hinauf gefahren, was wir uns selber nicht getraut hatten. Die Treppen sind für Menschen mit Gehbehinderung oder kleine Kinder nicht geeignet, aber ansonsten hat man von oben eine tolle Aussicht. Der Pool war super als Erfrischung nach einem warmen Tag. Die Toilette beim Hauptschlafzimmer hat ein Wasserdruckproblem - wir haben das andere Badezimmer genutzt. Die Betten waren sehr gut. Die Küchenausstattung auch. Wifi funktioniert nicht. Trotz kleinerer Abstriche empfehle ich dieses Haus !

In der Beschreibung des Objekts wird nicht darauf hingewiesen, dass es eine sehr steile, gefährliche Auffahrt hat, sowie 70 Stufen zu überwinden sind, eine Zumutung.Ein Bad wie nur bedingt benutzbar.Austattung der Küche ,z.Bsp., ein Weinglas, eine Pfanne 15cm Durchm.Das Wasser wurde mit einer Wasserpumpe lautstark nach oben gepumpt, sehr störend. Dem Pool Mangels es an der Reinigung und Kontrolle.

Perfekte Lage - Perfekte Aussicht - Fast perfektes Haus

Der Check-in war etwas mühsam, da Arthuro kein Englisch/Deutsch/Französisch spricht. Aber er ist ein toller Typ (wohnt im benachbarten Haus) der Probleme in und um das Haus - die es nicht gab - sicher sofort gelöst hätte. Das Haus wude in der Woche einmal gereinigt. Arthuro hat die Außenanlagen (Terasse, Pool-Bereich) gepflegt. Die Lage des Haus, die Außenanlagen (Pool, Terrassen etc.) und die Aussicht sind perfekt. Das Haus liegt am Hang, also erst ein sehr steiler Weg hochfahren und dann noch 70 Stufen hochgehen - der Aublick dann ist aber genial! Wer auf stabiles Internet/WLAN angewiesen ist entweder selbst privat oder beruflich oder für Kinder/Jugendliche wird hier enttäuscht. Es gibt einen neuen Smart-TV, der aber nicht an irgendwelche Antennen/SAT-Anlagen angeschlossen ist und - ohne stabiles Internet - ist er aber auch nicht zu gerbauchen. Aber uns hat beides nicht gestört.

Amazing views, great location for seeing the island - small niggle - villa WiFi v unreliable to non existent which could be irritating if you are relying on it. Otherwise really enjoyable stay and recommend it.

We hebben genoten. De villa zelf is prima en het buitenverblijf is te gek. Het uitzicht is prachtig! Arthur is vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Hij spreekt geen woord Engels, maar we kwamen er wel uit. Al met al een heerlijke week gehad.

Amazing view!

Villa PETRA is located up a very steep driveway with approx 70 steps with an outstanding view of both Nidri and Vhilo Bay. The outside space is huge and beautifully rustic, nighttime is magical with the pool and villa lighting. Views from both bedrooms and the lounge are just stunning. Inside the villa is spotless clean, and spacious with usual facilities such as washing machine, dishwasher etc. The air-conditioning is very good! The lounge area is rustic and beautiful. Some areas are a little tired and dated but this did not affect a comfortable enjoyable stay. We walked to Nidri most evenings, it takes about 25mins on flat road, and took taxi back each night for only 6 Euro. It is a short 15min walk in the opposite direction to Vhilo Bay for delicious bakery, couple of small supermarkets and breakfast at the Quay Cafe. This is our 3rd year to Nidri, the first stay in this villa and would definitely return to Villa Petra. The only minor negative we had was an issue with the ensuite toilet but the owner came to fix it that evening whilst we went out for dinner.

We werden netjes en hartelijk ontvangen door de eigenaar Arturo. De eigenaar wil echt alles voor je doen niks is teveel. Het huisje is erg mooi en de ligging ervan ook en je hebt op verschillende plekken erg mooi uitzicht over de baai en Nidri. Bakkertje op loop afstand van het huisje zodat je elke ochtend lekker vers brood hebt. Binnen is het netjes maar wat gedateerd maar als je niet te veel eisen hebt is t prima. Het is niet geschikt voor oudere mensen die slecht ter been zijn omdat je veel trappen op moet voordat je bij t huisje bent, ook niet echt voor gezinnen met kleine kinderen. Wij vonden het fijn en wilden niet meer weg, dus een aanrader om te boeken. Een top huis en we willen zeker een keer terug al is t alleen als voor de gastvrijheid van de eigenaar.

Great experience

Great experience! The owner was really kind, he expected us with food, drinks and helped us with the luggages. The property has a great view with a very nice and clean pool. The house is really well equipped with all that you need for your stay. Also I have to mention that the access on the stairs is not hard at all, it takes only 2 minutes. I really recommend this property.

Great outdoor space with great pool and lovely views

A functional 2 bed villa with a really great outdoor space. The pool is a good size (we estimated 10 x 4m) and there are 2 patio areas with various places to sit or lounge around in and out of shade. Yes, it's up a very steep drive - as in the description and noted by other reviews - but the reward of the views is fantastic - of the bay and out to the local islands. It was as impressive during the day as well at night. We could hear traffic from the nearby road but not enough to bother us. Inside the villa... Positives: a pleasant open plan living/kitchen area that was very clean, the bedrooms had quality sheets and it had everything a family of four could need for a very enjoyable holiday. Best of all aircon for a cool nights sleep. Some minor negative points: The cleaning lady hosed down the outside area 5pm the night before we left rather than doing it when we'd checked out the following morning - whilst we were still there and using the space. She didn't stop when we asked her to, seeming not to understand. Some of the bathroom & kitchen fittings were dated, electrical points loose and appliances like the toaster did not work. The double bed had an end so uncomfortable for anybody tall whose feet stick over the end of a normal bed. But these were minor things and, overall, we had a fantastic holiday both at the villa as well as out and about in the beautiful local area. We would stay again and would highly recommend this villa to other families.

Beatifull exterior, pool and view; medeocre interior.

Very friendly reception by the local caretaker, who helped with our first steep (!) ascend by car to the villa, took suitcases up the stairs and even provided us with some basic groceries, fruit and cold water, soda and a beer in the refridgerator. Super! The terrain is realy beautiful and well kept. The view is spectacular. The pool is cleaned every morning. A part of the site is overlooked by an other house higher up. This could easily be resolved by placing some shrubberies. So the outside is pretty good. Insides are a bit of a letdown. One of the toilets water reserve leaked and was not repared after calling it in to Thalia; so unusabe. She responded, but took no action. That was not the first time. She should defenitly up her game. The door of the refridgerator did not close completely, was dented and a little rusty. The toaster was mallfunctional and turning on the oven caused a power down. So the kitchen was not very good and out-dated. The rest of the furniture was OK. The lighting was bad; 2 bright lamps. The big flatscreen TV was great, with internet but without TV-channels. Wifi was not fast, but otherwise OK. Airco functionality was good. The 2 bathchambers were clean (though with a lot of small flies or moths) but a lttle poor in design (curtains!). The washingmachine is fine though. All in all we we had a good week, but definitly expected better interior functionality and design. It is really a shame considdering the good potential of this place.

Fantastic!

This is a complete house with private pool, two bed- and bathrooms. Enough space inside as outside for four persons. It's quiet, private and perfect for relaxation. There's airconditioning in both bedrooms and in the livingroom. The double bed is firm and for us perfect. The rooms were very clean and the cleaning lady quite thorough. We immensely enjoyed our vacation. Three points little less: -This is not perfect for (elderly) people who're not fit (stairs and steep hill), nor for wheelchair users. -You really need a car/bike to get groceries (Nidri is the nearby town -> 1,5 mile) -The owner (who's really nice!) can't speak any foreign languages. His daughter speaks fluent English and was standing by for questions by mobile phone.

FANTASTIC VIEW

Had a lovely 2 week holiday in Villa Petra last 2 weeks June 2017 . Yes the driveway is steep but is ok and you can turn round at the top. Also, the 70 steps are manageable and you are rewarded with the most wonderful view from the terrace. Our flight was delayed and we did not arrive until 1.00am but the owner still waited to greet us! This was very much appreciated. We would definitely stay here again.

Great villa

Stayed at this villa for the second time. The villa is well equipped with everything you need and was spotlessly clean. The towels and sheets were changed twice weekly, and the villa cleaned. The pool and outdoor space is fantastic and the views are wonderful. The only downside is the steep driveway and seventy steps to reach the villa, therefore not suitable for anyone with mobility problems. The owner was friendly, although he doesn't speak much English, but Thalia was always available on the phone for any queries we had and she speaks good English. The restaurants and bars are a 30 minute walk and a taxi costs about 5 or 6 euros. Overall a fantastic holiday and we would certainly return to this villa
