What a sweet home. We spent the week with our adult children and 2 dogs. Our English Mastiff , who is 11, came with us. Because there are bedrooms downstairs as well as upstairs, Rowan had no trouble finding his way around. The kitchen, while small had everything you could need to make cakes to steaks. The beds were pretty comfortable, but if you are allergic to feathers, bring your own pillow. You are in the wilderness, with access to television, (we watched the Olympics at night), to my tech savvy kids who needed the internet to keep in touch with work and such. The home is well maintained, but keep in mind, it is a lake house and can feel damp. The lake is silty and shallow until you go out a ways, by kayak or canoe, which is provided. Watch out for the enormous snapping turtle. The dock must be near their nest. So cool! Bo, my son's dog loved the lake! There are a pair of loons who give their mournful cry at night. They floating dock was always being used by other folks, but if you ask them to move on, they do.
We loved they volleyball court and had lots of fun playing, although, Rowan would occasionally decide to plant himself in the middle of the court. (He didn't want to be left out). There are great hikes near by and adorable towns with great food and the famous Vermont Country Store. We know this will probably be our last summer with our Rowan, but Alecia's house made it a perfect fair well for him.
