This is a beautiful spot right on the shore of Lake Mascoma. It was clean and spacious with great amenities. The kitchen was so well stocked from plates and glasses to a wide variety of cooking utensils and pots and pans. We’ve already decided we’re returning next year!

It’s really hard not to give this place five stars across the board! When we arrived, there was some kitchen cleanup that we needed to do in order to function in the kitchen. It really was a matter of people not respecting the property. In addition, and it is not the owner’s fault, the lake was really low, so it was a little bit of a challenge for us to use our boat. Next time we just need to watch the rain and it’s affect on boat use. We had a great family vacation! Andy is an excellent host and he is very responsive!

Great stay

Our family absolutely loved this house and all of the room as well as location. The trampoline and raft on the water were an added bonus. Many of us fished or swam in the beautiful lake. The owner was very responsive.

Perfect family gathering spot

We stayed with family for a graduation at Dartmouth College. The three bathroom made it easy for everyone to get ready at same time for ceremony. There was plenty of bedrooms and hang out space for us all to hang out together. Everything clean and well stocked! Very satisfied. This propert is a recommend.

We just wrapped up our second year staying at this incredible home, and we couldn’t be happier! With 14 family members, finding a place that fits us all comfortably is a challenge, but this home nails it. The house is thoughtfully designed, making it feel spacious yet cozy. The lake views are absolutely stunning—our mornings started with coffee on the deck, watching the kids play in the water, and our evenings ended with the most picturesque sunsets. It truly is a slice of paradise. The house is equipped with everything you could possibly need and then some. From the fully stocked kitchen to the ample entertainment options, we never found ourselves lacking anything. It’s clear that a lot of care has been put into making guests feel at home. Black bear lodge was perfect for our family

I can’t say enough good things about this house. It was well stocked, had lots of towels and kitchen amenities. The house was quiet even though it’s near a campground and the road. The view from the second floor was beautiful and we loved the outside deck. We loved the large wooden table near the kitchen. We hope to stay there again!!

Family Weekend

Graduation weeked

Needed a large house for family and friends for graduation weekend. As it turned out it was just my wife and myself, most of the time. Great location on the lake and nice open layout of house for entertaining or larger groups (5 bedrooms). But also nice place just for a couple that likes room.

Beautiful lake views

Had a great visit with my family of 8 adults. Location is close to Woodstock and Quechee Vermont and Hanover New Hamphire. Lots of pretty fall foliage.

Perfect house for getaway

We went for a family vacation and we’re lucky enough to stay in this home. It was perfect with everything needed for a home away from home. The lake swim up dock was a welcome and incredibly fun addition. This is a perfect home for fun with family and friends. There is more than enough sleeping accommodations. Grateful for the time spent there with the fam.

Wonderful house

Our family has been going to different homes for our annual glamping trips for years, this house is one of the best. Plenty of space, the kitchen is well stocked, the entire house was very clean. The lake is beautiful. Enjoyed our stay very much.

Fabulous vacation spot

Gorgeous home with spectacular views. Our family of 12 had plenty of space. The kitchen is well-stocked, the bedrooms are roomy, and the pingpong table was a bonus for extra fun! The living room window, floor to ceiling, is a stunning view. The kids loved the dock and diving board out on the floating dock. For those with kids, bring water shoes, as it's a bit rocky at the shoreline. The water is also shallow for quite a bit, which is great for little ones. The owner was very receptive and addressed a couple of minor concerns in a timely manner. The house is close to the road, but soundscapes solved the night traffic problem. The yard slopes from the house down to the water so don't bring bocce! Bring your own ping pong paddles to ensure quality play. We had a great week and will rent again once our new grandbaby can jump off that dock!

Family vacation

Fantastic stay. Can’t wait to return!

We were a family of 8 adults and 7 children (ages 2-16) with plenty of room to both gather and spend quiet time. Kids were swimming as early as 9am and enjoyed swimming to the raft with diving board. We explored the lake using the kayaks, had many ping pong games downstairs, and enjoyed the lake views from the back deck or conversation area. Beds were comfortable. Perfect for our family vacation! Can’t wait to return!

House has everything you will need!!

This home is awesome! The kitchen area has everything you will need and then some, every pot and pan, every cooking utensil, you cannot use everything here within your stay. 5 Bedrooms so plenty of room. We were here for the Ledyard Classic Hockey Tournament at Dartmouth U-- if you are every here for anything at Dartmouth-- this location is really nice as it is only 15 minutes away. The lake view is spectacular! Communication with the owner is A-ONE! Do Not hesitate to rent out this home- you definitely will be amazed! Five Stars on this one.. Mark Catalano

Great house on a lovely Lake!

This house was really great. Plenty of space for the seven of us, and right on a really nice and clean lake. Is just a quick walk to a great restaurant and only a few minutes drive to local stores. The owner was responsive and helpful. Would love to return!

Wonderful home!

Beautiful home with gorgeous views of the lake. Great space for kids to hang out in the lower level with ping pong and TV. Open kitchen/dining room/living room. Our group of 15 loved it - had enough space to be by ourselves, but also come together as a large group. We found a wonderful rails to trails hike about a mile away that we biked, hiked, ran on. Close to shopping/amenities, but could also just spend the whole day at the house enjoying views/water/kayaking and being together.

It has become an annual tradition that my family host a ski trip and every year we are renting a place on Homeaway. We figure it was time to invest in a home where we had the best of both worlds where we can ski in the winter and swim in the summer.

Mascoma Lake was a great option for us because it has no motor boat restrictions and we wanted the freedom of bringing in motor boats if we ever desired.
