The hobbit home is epic. We were highly impressed with the layout and design. We were very comfortable and appreciated the cleanliness. The secluded location and the thick greenery made the experience complete. We would definitely choose to stay at this home again.

This was by far a very unique enjoyable stay! We enjoyed the atmosphere and the cleanliness of the place and oh - what a friendly cat!!! Would definitely stay again! Aldo enjoyed reading the little notes scattered throughout!

This was the most magical stay we have ever experienced. There wasn’t one detail that didn’t go untouched. Clearly a creative genius designed this. If you want to give your family the ultimate fantasy vacation we highly recommend this place. The hosts responded immediately to any concerns. The only thing missing was a home cooked Hobbit meal

When our family decided to do a trip to Nauvoo, the first thing I booked was this place, and I recommend that to anyone. Everything about this place is thoughtfully and magically done. Even all the beautiful hobbit things aside, this is the most accomodating, comfortable, ideal rental we've stayed at. We were all enchanted, and it added so much to our family trip. We planned our dates around when this was available, and I'm so glad we did.

We had so much fun here! There were so many cute details and we loved how close it was to Nauvoo. The kids loved looking for fuzzy caterpillars in the grass.

My family loved our stay at the hobbit hole. The details on the home were incredible. My kids loved dressing up and using the curtains to put on shows. The location was great as well. We had timely responses from the owner and the house was supplied well.

We loved the halfling house. The overall impression was awe-inspiring, but as we soaked in the little details, the richness just deepened. Nothing failed to transport us to Middle Earth: the architecture, furniture, the curtains, the dishes, the fixtures. Every little decoration tickled me, from the books, to the games, to the light switch plates, to the figurines. Amazing! We watched the LOTR trilogy, cooked some hobbity meals, and dressed up in costumes the host has available for pictures. This trip was one of the coolest things we’ve ever done.

This place is full of quirky items. It was fun looking around at everything! There are plenty of books to read and some games to play. We even found some costumes to dress up as hobbits for a photo shoot! There is a microwave and a really fancy stove. There is a full size kitchen sink and a small prep sink area plus a dishwasher. There is also a washer and dryer. The house had a large fancy bathtub in one bathroom and a walk-in shower in the other bathroom. The toilets are bidets.The place is absolutely amazing!Didn't find a regular coffee maker. Did have the fancy type you add coffee grounds to a filter and pour boiling water over it. We did find all kinds of flavoring syrups for coffee. And some food spices as well.Driveway, parking area, and walkway to the house is rough gravel landscape rock. It's not easy to roll your luggage on it's wheels on the walkway or the grass, so pack a little lighter in your bags so you can carry them if need be. This house is not handicapped accessible for somebody in a wheelchair. Someone with a walker would encounter significant difficulty.A winery is located very close to the house.We went to Vickers geodes to hunt for geodes. We filled 6 five gallon buckets in 5 hours with a party of four people. Make sure to call ahead and make an appointment with Johnny. Bring a small pickaxe as you will be moving a lot of dirt.The neighbor cats like to visit but are not allowed in the house. They are extremely friendly and vocal.

CANNOT OVERSTATE THE MAGIC OF THIS PLACE. The pictures simply do not do it justice. Every inch of this slice of fantasy heaven has been thoughtfully curated for comfort and enchantment. The slippers! The robes! The dress ups! The plethora of blankets, candles, and books! Every new discovery (a framed Elvin picture, perhaps, or a set of whimsical salt n pepper shakers, or the hand-penned labels on the spice rack) brought another wave of delight. This is not a rental house. This is an EXPERIENCE. You’re living inside the story (the LOTR record player helps); this is immersion therapy at its finest. If you are fortunate enough to stay here, I encourage you to read every word of the Welcome sheets. I laughed out loud several times. A word to the wise: I wouldn’t bring toddlers here. There’s just too many things to touch- and break. They do provide a high chair and dishware for littles, but I would have had an anxiety attack the whole time with young ones afoot. Also, the curtains are sheer, so if your sleep is light sensitive, bring an eye mask. We’re already plotting our next getaway here! I cannot rave enough about this place!

Beautiful hobbit hole!

We enjoyed our stay in the halfling house. My husband and I and our 8 kids filled the space. It is themed very well and will stocked. We stayed only 1 night as we were passing through and my kids loved it! There are costumes to dress up in and even an old fashioned key that unlocks the round door. I will be recommending this cute house to everyone!

A Hobbit's Life

This was a great place to binge watch the Hobbit movies, munch on some Hobbit food, and relax. There was even the possibility of seeing the Northern Lights, but it didn't pan out. It was peaceful and fun! A real adventure!!

Amazing location

My wife and I stayed here for our Anniversary. This place was amazing, the pictures alone don't come close to showing how beautiful and great this place truly is. When I first came upon this place it was still under construction. I sent the owner a message to keep me updated on new pictures, which they did. They were also able to accommodate a last minute family emergency. I have shared this location to friends and family and I can't wait to stay at this location again in the future!

I stayed in Nauvoo for 5 nights. Two nights at the Hobbit house and three nights at another place. We only stayed two nights at the Hobbit house because it was so much more expensive. If I had to plan again I would spend the extra and stayed all week. It was all on one level, way cleaner, and had a huge comfortable tub. The charm of the place was sensational. We watched Lord of the Rings in the coziest environment EVER! We brought our daughter who loves the Hobbit movie and she squeezed with delight. The framing / doors / hardware were a work of art.

When I booked the Halfling House, I knew it would be terrific, but it was so much more! It was truly magical. My husband and I stayed for four nights, and we loved every minute. Everywhere you turn there is more to see. The home is so cozy and so comfy. We loved the well-stocked kitchen, which was very easy to cook in. I made large meals two nights with no problems. There is a wide selection of cooking and baking tools. The open shelving makes everything very easy to find. I watched "Fellowship of the Ring" on my tablet while cooking, which was pretty meta! There are two tables in the kitchen, and one of them extends to seat 10, although there are not ten chairs. Pro tip: You can move the bench in the tub bathroom and the bench in the living room into the kitchen to make ten seats. The bathrooms are both quite large. There is more than enough storage area for personal items. The living room is cozy, with a couch, two comfy chairs, and a bench. There are led candles EVERYWHERE, which is so fun! The ones in the kitchen have a remote on the shelf to make it so you don't have to reach up to the tippy top of the shelf to turn on the candle. These candles add so much ambience to every room. There are so many outlets and so many light configurations! It's amazing. Two things to note: It gets bright early in the morning, so bring an eye mask if you don't want to wake with the sun. There are not doors on the sleeping rooms, just curtains, so prepare to mitigate sound.

If we could give this more than five stars we would. From the moment we drove up we were so impressed. The whole experience was unbelievable. If you love the Hobbit or even if you don’t, this halfling house was decorated so great. Every corner was filled with something Hobbit or Lord of the Rings related. Very comfortable, had a full kitchen to make your own meals. I would suggest planning a menu and grocery shop. Nauvoo doesn’t have a large grocery store that we could find, so if you see one close as your driving, you might want to stop. We landed up going into Iowa just a few miles away to shop and do some antiquing. Another great thing is Tori has plenty of games, books, and DVDs to use, as well as WiFi. Note we went there later in August, so be prepared for some of the places to be closed on Monday and Tuesday. This place is definitely closest to being in the shire outside of going to New Zealand.

A truly unique experience staying in an amazing property. Seeing it in person will blow your mind and transport you to a fantasy world. Tori has created more than a fun place to stay. So much care and attention to detail was put into it. Super simple to check in and out. Clean, comfortable, quiet. Kitchen and bathrooms stocked with all the supplies you need. Just add your own groceries. Laundry, books, movies, games. Lock me in here for a week and I'm in heaven. Star-filled night sky. Grounds filled with flowers, butterflies, and dragonflies. Close to Nauvoo. I couldn't ask for more. Can't wait to go back.
