This place was more magical than we expected. We arrived in the evening with all the lights and decor to welcome us. The setting on the river was fabulous with a bonus of horseshoes and a hot tub and the twinkling stars from the hot tub. Unexpectedly ran into Jillian and had a wonderful conversation. It was such a pleasure to meet her in person. Anyone who visits here will be pleasantly surprised and enjoy the two fireplaces and the magic of the train throughout the day as well. We loved our stay here thank you Jillian.

Mountain Retreat

Beautiful home, wonderful location, peaceful. We had a fantastic stay, being directly on the river was the best. The house is well stocked and Jillian the homeowner was wonderful. I would definitely recommend this VRBO!! Thank you for everything!

The property is amazing. The communications were excellent start to finish. Decor and design elements were outstanding questions and thoughtfully created.We loved every element of our stay and will definitely stay again.Very minor recommendations.Evaluate cooking utensils, pots and pans for quality and everything needed to prepare meals.Property could use a thorough cleaning. However, we also understand how difficult it would be to keep such a unique place clean.LOVED THE PLACE!

The location is great and the property on the river is beautiful. But the area for guests is not 2,000 square feet. The owners area is the entire bottom floor and I think that is included in the square footage. As others have mentioned, the place is a little dusty and if you are sensitive to dust then it's probably better to look at other options.

Fantastic!

Where to start! The house is amazing. Everything you need for a stay is supplied. There is plenty to do right at the house. The owner and caretaker are super responsive. The area is quite and peaceful with just a few miles to nearby Cherokee and Bryson City! You will not regret visiting!

Owner stayed entire time on property

The owner said she was leaving on Monday but stayed the entire stay. We paid for privacy but did not receive it also the house is not at all accessible for anyone who has mobility challenges. Also, the owner only provides minimal TP, trash bags, and paper towels. Not enough for an entire stay.

Our Valentine’s weekend at the cabin was an overall an awesome stay. Loved the river behind the cabin the cabin overall was perfect. I would must definitely recommend this cabin and I will definitely visit again.

The cabin is in an amzing location and the view is so breathtaking. Jillian was wonderful and kind at check in and Tom was helpful when we had a little hickup. It is a bit of a strange experience to be checked in by a person, and even though she was on the property we did not see her for the rest of the time. The cabin is located in a great spot with easy access to just about everything. The kitchen is a tight fit for more then two people but we made it work. The highway in front can be a bit loud but you only hear it from the bedrooms and it did not keep us up. There were plenty of supplies in the house. The only complaint we have about this place was the amount of dust and dirt. It is in need of a deep cleaning. I dropped my phone of the side of the bed and was shocked but the whole house is in need of being dusted/cleaned. The bathrooms and kitchen were clean but still dusty. There is a lot of stuff in the home as well, which can make it feel cluttered, lots of art and furniture and it is not a place I would have young kids I would be worried about something breaking. We would consider staying here again in the future.

Overall, the property grounds are beautiful and somewhat private. The cabin is off a main road, but there are mature trees around. To note, you can hear cars on the main road if you will be sleeping in the downstairs bedroom, so rec bringin a sound machine. The grounds need work and look to be lacking for some time. For example, there are no blue rocks around the firepit as in the property main image. There were fallen branches and leaves, outside furniture was not cleaned off, but just to note it wasn't a deal breaker for the stay. All 3 of the bedrooms are smaller, and I personally felt claustrophic. The cabin interior decor is high quality and beautiful artisan and crafts. The kitchen is fully equipped, but will note that there are limited storage options in the space. Also to note, no tupperware, alum foil, or plastic wrap so will need to bring your own. Plenty of towels and the bed linens and beds were comfortable. DirectTV and Internet worked overall as intended. One morning the signal was out and we believe was due to heavy fog. The location is good proximity into Cherokee, and there were a few route options in either direction getting to and from. Our host Tammy was very responsive and allowed us to check in early as the cabin was ready, which we very much appreciated. We also love that this cabin is pet friendly. We were very comfortable overall for our stay. The inside fireplace was so relaxing and to be overlooking the river was what dreams are made of.

Our Vacation

My wife and I spent 10 nights at this property, waking up each day and enjoying coffee and a view of the river each day, It was probably one of the first times where we spent 90 percent of our time at the property. Will stay at the location again.

Summer fun in the Smokies!

Beautiful cabin in a beautiful location! So much to do in the area, and the cabin had everything we needed for a family reunion (6 adults, a 2-year old, and 2 dogs). Highly recommend!

Nice place to stay

Overall it was a good vacation spot nothing wrong with the manager or owner or cabin inside was clean outside was too for the most part. Few people who was there before us didn’t clean up after their dogs and fishing at the cabin wasn’t too good but it was in a good location to find fishing spots and close to Cherokee which was the two main points of our trip. Owner was friendly wish she had come and eat and drink with us while we were there but she was busy so it was understandable. Had a good time though and she said she planned to.add a deck over the river by next year which will improve the fishing.

Fabulous Location

Excellent location to Bryson City and Cherokee. We could see the Elk in the morning and the evening. It’s a beautiful drive to Gatlinburg! The cabin grounds are just perfect to sit by the river and have coffee in the morning or enjoy the hot tub in the evening. We couldn’t have been happier with the outdoor areas! And have a bonfire with the family at night. Just Beautifully landscaped!

What an amazing family trip we had at this cabin! Location is perfect! The river is so beautiful with the lovely sunsets! The indoor fireplace is so cozy every night and we made delicious s’mores every night too! The owner and caretaker are top notch! Pick this cozy cabin to stay in for an amazing memory!

Cozy Cabin

We had the best stay at this cabin! We came to ride the Polar Express, and the cabin made the weekend even more perfect! The owner was lovely and the care taker Tammy was always available to assist. The cabin is close to everything, and the outdoor area was spectacular. We cannot wait to return!

30th Anniversary

This is one of the most unique places we have ever stayed! You can tell this cabin is the owners "baby"! So many neat features about it! The river is beautiful as well!! Very close to town and restaurants! Our new dog loved it too!!

Great Time

Had a great time beautiful cabin and grounds great location would definitely book again. FYI tube ride from back of the house took 4 hrs sons and I had an adventure but not for the timid even seen an Elk an huge Eagle. 👍

Tuck Trip

We have been staying in the Tuck during the summer as a family and paddling all the nearby whitewater rivers and playing around in the mountains. Easy location to getting around. The highlight of this house was enjoying hanging outside on the river during the evenings.

This Log home's location and title, was inspired by the oil painting, “Following The River”, by Robert Duncan.
The pictorial imagery of Native Americans on horseback crossing a wintery river's edge could secretly come to life in this uniquely tranquil, unobstructed river view. The Tuckaseeggee River’s abundant wild life and its degrees of strength, are breathtaking and worth the perch.
