Perched on the brow of Lookout Mountain along Scenic Highway in Mentone, Talking Leaves Cottage is a rare, one-level retreat where sweeping views and effortless comfort come together. Built in 1955, this spacious home offers easy, no-stairs access and invites you to slow down and settle in. Gather with family and friends in the expansive living and dining spaces, unwind on the deck as the sun dips below the horizon, or retreat to one of three generously sized family bedrooms—each designed for deep rest with multiple beds and its own large Roku TV.
Rich with character, the cottage is thoughtfully curated with vintage art and antiques that reflect the homeowners’ love of history and storytelling. The name “Talking Leaves” honors Sequoyah, the Cherokee inventor of the written language—an inspiration that adds meaning to every corner of the home. Spend your days exploring nearby waterfalls, parks, shops, and local dining, then return to quiet evenings by the fire pit or peaceful mornings on the covered patio with coffee in hand. With frequent wildlife sightings and unforgettable sunsets, this is a place to truly renew, refresh, and feel restored.
**THE RETREAT PROPERTY**
When you turn into the shared graveled driveway, you will see Talking Leaves Cottage on the right, along with your own private parking area near the home (3 cars max). In the main living area, there is plenty of lounge seating for up to 9 guests with 3 sofas.
