I make every effort to work with my guests and address concerns promptly when they are communicated. However, one statement that was particularly troubling was the claim that windows were left open. I personally cleaned and inspected the home the night before arrival, and all windows were fully closed. Given that this was during one of the coldest winters on record, it would make no sense to leave windows open in a winter rental that I own, clean, and monitor closely. Rob did not communicate any concerns during his stay. All complaints were raised only after checkout, which prevented us from addressing or correcting any issues in real time. The heating system was functioning properly and monitored remotely throughout the stay, with temperatures never dropping below 60°F. Snow and ice were cleared from the porch the morning prior to arrival, which is consistent with winter maintenance standards in upstate New York. During the stay, the guest removed multiple vent covers and left them off, requiring time and effort to reinstall after checkout. This was not reported while he was on the property. After departure, the guest requested a partial refund tied to the outcome of his review, despite not raising these concerns during the stay.
