Wow!

Bigger than we realized from orig seeing it from street.. so well stocked and organized.. love the set up of things... fantastic views... kitchen had everything we needed.... Be carefull getting into the big shower..mustve been some cleaning residue...very slippery but after that.. no problems/fantastic..those heated floors in there...super lush...Thanks for sharing your lovely home!!!Fantastic view

Slice of Heaven on the Beach

If you want a great place to stay with the ocean right out your front door this home is great! Has all necessities you need, super comfortable beds and wow that view is amazing!!

Perfect spot for relaxation and play

We really enjoyed our time at this property. Loved the openness of the layout and the easy access to the beach. The bunk room downstairs provided a nice space for the kids.

Terrific Space

We loved the view and modern feel of the big living-room/ dining-room/ kitchen area. Bathrooms roomy and clean, beds had good linens....kitchen well equipped in terms of pots etc (but do bring your condiments and firewood) It was great to be able to walk 5 minutes to town.

great house...

in a great location. this place was better than the pictures. the wife and kids and i all had a really good time. no complaints. everything was as said in the listing and everything was what we needed. we plan on coming again and bringing our extended family.

I Want This Place!

This is my dream house! I love the interiors and the design is creative, comfortable and modern. The exterior of the house is great too, but I don't think most people come here to admire the design. They come for the great location, a short walk to town, the comfy furniture, clean and well stocked house and great decks overlooking the beach.

Terrific View and House

We stayed at this house earlier in the year, and returned as guests of a couple we recommended the house to. This is my favorite Manzanita beach house, by far. The house is wonderful, clean and nicely decorated, the owners are great to work with, and the location is just a short walk to town. We parked the car and didn't use it the whole time. This is definitely our go to beach vacation house, and we recommend it to all our friends.

STUNNING!

We spent the weekend in this great house that has been beautifully remodeled with a large well stocked kitchen. It's open and spacious with vaulted ceilings and a drop dead view of the ocean. All new contemporary furniture that is comfortable; great beds; beautiful new bathrooms and a wood burning fireplace. Owner was great to work with. We'll definitely be back!

A 5 star house!

This is the best house on the coast! I have been all over the Oregon coast and have stayed at tons of houses, but this house is by far my favorite! It has a nice modern feel, but without the feel of a busy day. It's my favorite location too! I can take my kids down to the beach and if I forget something I can go back in a jiffy. I think that this house is perfect for any person! It has enough rooms and it has a spacious area for hanging around! By far the best beach house on the Coast!

An amazing beach house!

I've been to Manzanita many times before, but when I stayed at this amazing house it was the best trip i've had in years! It's great for all ages and having my two kids there with me was a fun experience for them too! When people go to the beach they normally think that all you can do is hang out on the beach, but i've done kayaking with my kids, boogie boarding and fun cycling!! It is definitely a house that anyone would love to stay at! And the town is just 3 blocks away. A great walk for any age. My family would love to come back to this amazing house and we are definitely going to recommend this house to our friends.

Rained while we were there and there were numerous spots (1 in kitchen, 2 in bathroom) where the roof was leaking. The kitchen counter was all wet and dirty from the leaking.

Perfect spot for a girls weekend

Seven girlfriends and I spent a lovely weekend at this house. The house was lovely- new, modern and comfortable. The six bunk beds were great and allowed all of us to have our own bed while not breaking the bank. The dining room table seated all of us and despite the super stormy weekend, it was spacious and open enough that we didn't feel cramped. Kim was great - accommodating and communicative. While we had cars, it was a nice walk into town from the house. We can't wait to come back.

Manzanita Family Vacation

What a beautiful home set in the perfect location just across the road from the beach. Lots of space in a great room with huge corner fireplace and glass doors and windows that look out to the ocean. You can sit on the sofa and gaze at the distant waves. Simply breathtaking, and so relaxing. Well equipped kitchen, big dining table, comfy beds, and a spiral staircase down to a den that's good for watching night time movies. We left a few menus behind and hopefully other guests will add to the collection. The decor is very pretty and everything feels so new.

Great new spot with excellent views

We've stayed at other properties managed by the owners, and they have really outdone themselves with this space. We took advantage of off-season rates, and can say with certainty that we'd come back with a big group to enjoy this home. There is TONS of room, and the "kids space" is in the lower level, which would be great for parents. The owners even let us check in a few hours early since the house was ready. They are extremely accommodating, and provide very clear instructions when renting their homes. The features of this home leave you wanting for nothing, and we especially enjoyed the brand new kitchen, heated bathroom floors, and the beautiful ocean views.

Great Family Getaway!

My husband, three kids (5,8,9) stayed here for a 5 day weekend in November and had a fabulous time! The view is great from the deck or the kitchen, the sunsets magnificent with a glass of wine to unwind! We had sunshine most of the weekend and the kids actually jumped waves and swam each day, and we climbed the Neakhanie Mtn. trail for the views of the whole beach. Owners were great when the dishwasher wan't draining, and we had zero complaints. Only other recommendation is that the owners print the house instructions and leave them in the drawer with the rest of the house details! :-) We would definitely return.

Amazingly beautiful place with direct ocean view

Amazingly beautiful place with direct ocean views, close to Manzanita center, and space for more people than I can imagine. I stayed there with my wife and 7 month old and we felt like kings. The place was recently remodeled and filled with everything needed for a long stay. I also like the owner's personal taste in design and art. Warning: No Pets! Her other house will take pets though. The listing states this but I missed it and you might too.

Exceptional House

I don't write well enough to express how wonderful this house is. It's what I think of when I dream of getting away from the chaos of everyday life. We just parked the car and emptied all our gear into the big storage area near the enterence and stepped into our dream vacation. We needed the rest so much and we got it here plus an exceptional view, a short stroll into town for morning coffee and cinnamon rolls, very comfortable beds and well supplied kitchen and house. I didn't mention you can work at the kitchen and watch the waves roll in and the people walking on the beach and the surfers in the morning. How lucky were we to have a very sunny and warm January vacation?

Like this house

It was well cleaned and tidy when we arrived. Everything was as explained by the owner who sent us clear instructions. The house smelled fresh and sheets and towels were new. The location was exceedingly convenient. It was only a short walk to the main street of the quaint town. We liked the dining situation and the easy access to the bbq and deck furniture. The configuration of the house worked well. We could have used a blender in the kitchen but there was a mixer. Plenty of pots and dishes. Sufficient wine glasses. I would recommend.

The Perfect Getaway

Perfect location - easy walk straight across the street to the beach. You can sit inside or on the deck and see the gorgeous beach and crashing waves right there in front of you. Easy walk to downtown Manzanita too, excellent pizza restaurant, burger/beer restaurant, shops for perusing and grocery store. Perfect home - everything is brand new and comfortable. Large picture windows all along the front of the house. The heated tile floor in the main bathroom was a treat. The decks in front and on the side of the home are large with lots of chairs available. Beds were comfortable (at least the two upstairs, we didn't use the 6 bunk beds downstairs. Nice second seating area downstairs with TV, bathroom and stained concrete floor. Owner Kim has been great to work with.

Superb Stay in Manzanita

Two of my friends from college and I rented this beach house for a girlfriend getaway in March. We had a wonderful time and the weather was absolutely gorgeous. I cannot recommend this house enough. The view was spectacular. We didn't even want to go out to dinner and leave our beautiful ocean front view. The kitchen was very well appointed and we cooked most of our meals in. All of the finishes/linens were high end. There was plenty of firewood for our evening fires. The location could not have been more perfect. We never used our car. We walked to all of the restaurants and shops. If I come back to Manzanita, I would definitely rent this house again :)

The Perfect Beach Vacation House

Our stay at this house could not have been more perfect and restful. The space is spotlessly clean, artfully decorated, and allergy free (a big plus in our book!). The fires we built in the big stone fireplace topped off the home's already warm ambiance. The kitchen is spacious and well stocked, the bathrooms are utterly modern, and the bedrooms are cute and cozy. While our own preference is for firmer mattresses, we slept well and warmly on two very cold nights with the soft blankets and down comforters. Heat can be controlled in every room, which really kept us toasty. I had worried about the house facing the road, in terms of noise, but there was very little traffic, and the view of the ocean was virtually unobstructed. Stepping out the door to the beach just can't be beat. I would give this home 10 stars if I could. We are already making plans to return in the spring!

Beautiful, wonderful beach house!

This house was just perfect for us! The owners have done an excellent job with the remodel, they have modernized it with a lot of high end features while still keeping the cozy beach house feel. It is so much bigger than we were expecting too. The downstairs has it's own family room area, bedroom with six bunks and a bathroom, plus a large area to come in and take off sandy shoes etc. The circular staircase going up to the main floor is a nice touch as well. The space down there was just perfect for the teens, they used that entrance for coming and going to the beach too, so the upstairs stayed "sand free" which I loved! The upstairs is a great layout as well, the entire living/kitchen/dining area looks out at the beautiful beach. While we just had our own family for this trip, this house would work great for two families, the adults take the upstairs and the kids can have the whole downstairs. Loved the location too, just walk across the street to the beach or take the two minute walk into town. The town is very friendly and laid back with some cute shops, restaurants, a candy store and ice cream shop. The kids rented fun-cycles to ride on the beach and had a great time, highly recommend those. We have been going to Cannon Beach for the last 15 years but we might have found a new favorite place in Manzanita! Plus Cannon Beach is only a gorgeous 15 minute drive away! We are hoping to plan a summer trip back down there and we would absolutely rent this house again if it was available!

I'm Kim Bergstrom. My husband, Eric Bergstrom, have built on my father's dream of owning a beachfront house on the Oregon Coast. We now own three, and much to my husband's dismay we continue to grow. We purchased our family beach house from my father in 1996, and have thrived through sweat equity - most people think of us as rather crazy, but we've taken something we love to do and are making it our second chapter in life.

We enjoy taking properties with potential and great location, adding a facelift without removing the character, and introducing them to our expanding group of guests. Our latest endeavor is a turn of the century three story house which will sleep 20. We put a lot of thought and work into each house, and luckily have found guests who love the results. Like many of our guests we've come to know over the years, we hope you also come to think of this special house as your very own vacation home - without all the work!

With deep ties to the Manzanita community, we've watched this house over the years. Put up for sale, it needed love and attention, from the weedy front yard to the small windows and precarious route to the side deck. Kim and her daughter saw the potential and convinced Eric to join in the fun.

There definitely was a learning curve for all - by the end of the project we could have written a book detailing the fun and craziness with remodeling a cedar log house. With big windows and decks to take advantage of the beautiful setting and gorgeous ocean views, opening up smaller rooms to big open areas, designer touches here and there -- well, we invite you to see the results. Or check out our reviews. Our regular guests, and new guests, have awarded us great feedback. And every happy guest makes the experience worthwhile!
