What a great property!!

Very clean, the owners were very quick on returning questions we had. Everything inside the house worked perfectly. Saw deer and a lot of chipmunks, got to meet the neighbors beagle. If you are going to Boone and want a nice quiet place to stay this is it.

A great getaway

We enjoyed our stay in Boone. This cabin is quiet and had everything we needed. Great location, close to downtown but out of the way. Internet was quite fast. Only negative is that the thermostat is kept (literally) under lock and key; it was cold our first night, and the only way to make it warmer is to email the property owner and hope they remotely increase it for us. Not sure why they'd so that, knocking off a star.

Thank you, Charles. When you stay with us again I promise you will have full control. You deserve an explanation regarding the thermostat. The reason we control it remotely is because guests have gone to inexplicable extremes in the past (like turning on AC in winter or vice versa). A son once played a prank on a parent and we lost a unit. So if our policy seems draconian, it is because, out of an abundance of caution, we want the property fully functional at all times for guests current and future. It is supposed to be set on 70 year round which suits the vast majority. But we gladly adjust to guest preference. It was on 69 when you arrived and for that we apologize. We will reevaluate our policy. Thanks for staying with us!

Not too far off the beaten path!

Nice, clean home. Beds were comfy. Decor was unique. Lots of TLC in this home. Would recommend for a small group at an affordable price.

Cute place!

Short stay but it suited our needs perfectly as we were just in town to move the kids home from App State. We enjoyed looking at all the local history/decor, pretty cool.

Close to Everything

We stayed here while visiting our son at App; this was a perfect distance from his dorm AND skiing which we did yesterday. Super comfortable, clean, and cozy place-- really fun to look through all of the pictures on the walls.

Nice Weekend Getaway

My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our weekend stay! The property was clean when we arrived, the location was great, and it had a real home-y feel to it. As an app state grad, it brought back a lot of good feels. Would recommend and would definitely book again!

Home away from Home

A comfortable cozy mountain side home! The kithchen is perfect for cooking meals very well equipped,Beds & Pillows are AMAZING, Living room is perfect for lounging around w/ plenty of Tv channels, Pretty view from the back ( we seen Deer every day) location is great for all the different things to do in Boone or all the other different hot spots. Owner was very nice an always quckliy responed to any question I had.

Scottish Highland Games Getaway!!

The property is delightful. We found it warm and inviting, full of great pictures of the area!! It was very clean and quite comfortable! The porch was great for evening sitting!! Ideal location.... close to Boone and Blowing Rock. Recommend it highly!!!

Damages by Latessa

The renter before us had ruined the water system and trashed the cabin. But the owner did everything to rebook us after repairs. Everything turned out fine including better weather.

Excellent location and great layout at a reasonable price

My family stayed here for 2 nights and loved it. The property and location is outstanding (though I’d hate to try to drive up the road in winter!) and the layout of the home worked out perfectly for us. We would happily stay here again in the future.

Wasn't fully informed about the property wasn't really what we expected. And to not have water for 1 and 1/2 days was very unexpected. The owner of this property was very rude also

You sure right you will never rent from us ever.The sole purpose of this "review" is for REVENGE and in RETALIATION because we had no choice but to retain her damage deposit. Water issue was caused by EXCESSIVE WATER USE by Latessa. Contributing was that there were MORE PERSONS IN HER GROUP than stated (and which she did not pay for). WELL WAS RUN DRY causing pump to burn up and fill the plumbing with mud. And Latessa never told us this was occuring. To put it mildly, this renter TRASHED OUR CABIN and BREACHED OUR RENTAL AGREEMENT. So much DAMAGE that WE HAD TO CANCEL THE NEXT GUESTS' RESERVATION IN ORDER TO REPAIR THE DAMAGE CAUSED BY THIS RENTER. Her deposit only covered a small fraction of the damage she inflicted upon us. ALSO DURING HER STAY: 1) Priceless memorabilia was stolen. 2) Priceless memorabilia was broken. 3) A comforter was stained and ruined (then turned over to hide it). 4) A rug was stained and ruined. 5) Children played on a sofa with the cushions removed. They colored with crayons then the cushions put back on with crayons and stains left underneath. 6) 4 large garbage cans were filled to overflowing in 2 days. 7) IT GOES ON AND ON: We continue to find things missing and damaged that can only be attributable to this renter. FACT: Our cabin is even BETTER THAN WE DESCRIBE and the pictures and reviews from our happy guests speak for themselves. And the owner was never "RUDE". The owner was FURIOUS THAT THIS RENTER TRASHED THE CABIN... It is Latessa and her type that sometimes make is wonder why we allow strangers in our cabin. But thanks to all our great guests other than her type that make it a joy to share it,

Our family has been in Boone for 6 generations. We're kin to ol' Dan'l himself. You know, the guy that opened that family-style "Inn" downtown. Back then he served venison, hoecake, and Wild Turkey (that sounds like a winner!). Things sure have changed with the fried chicken and biscuits and all. But Boone is still our home. Until they run us out.

Why not? For 30 years, DA-JA View II was only available to family and friends. Then somebody (can't remember if it was Granny or one of the Cuz twins) said "Why don't we let some flatlanders enjoy this place?" We all shook our heads and here it is! It is not suitable for children or handicapped and we can't allow smoking, pets, or parties. But you'll enjoy staying here. Granny would be proud...

Close to town but away from the crowds and traffic. Just a FUN place. We get lots of comments about the decor. You'll get a special kick out of it if you had Boone vacations as a child or attended ASU (or ASTC!). If you are a parent or grandparent of an App student, you will appreciate the short trip to campus. If you want snow sports, you can have the amenities of town apres ski. You can hike, bike, kayak, tube and still sleep in a great bed at night. There a plenty of vacation rentals in and around Boone. But there is only ONE DA-JA View II....
