We have always loved the land around Sisters -- the mountains and rivers, the pine forest, the scenery of McKenzie Pass, the hikes up toward North Sister, the Metolius River (and, for the younger two of us, the fun of throwing rocks in it), the skiing, the rafting and kayaking. And the sun -- when we're weary of the gray that envelops the Willamette Valley for many months of the year, the escape to the east side of the mountains is priceless.
And then there's the town -- visiting the galleries to see what's new, stopping at Sno-Cap for some ice cream or the Sisters Coffee Company for baked treats, dining all over the place, or just walking around to soak up the ambiance.
We looked for a place near Sisters for a long time and couldn't find anything that really called out to us -- until we came on this cabin. We decided it was the right one when we first saw the setting and then saw the inside. Good spacious neighborhood, well-kept place, plenty of room inside, and convenient to Sisters. It took only minutes to decide that this was the place (though of course the real estate transaction took months!).
