Rated 1 for communication and pool because we didn’t utilize either! There was no need to contact the property manager and we spent our time on the beach rather than the pool. We did do a walk by, and it seemed clean and nice! The house was clean and comfortable. It was amazing hearing the ocean from anywhere in the house and getting in and out of the community gate was a breeze!The beach access is very close, which was great! The public beach was fun and we saw lots of turtles!One downside is other neighbors started walking right through our patio area and we didn’t care too much for that, just be cautious as there aren’t any blinds for the sliding door.All in all, it was a nice place to spend a couple weeks! Pictures are from the patio!

Oceanfront!

Our experience was wonderful at this location. We were steps from the ocean with crashing waves to go to sleep to every night and beautiful sunsets enjoyed from our lanai. The beds were comfortable and the space was well suited for our family of four. The complex's pool was very clean and enjoyable and never too busy. Communication with the owner was easy and responsive. We would certainly come back again. Our our only trouble was with ants and bugs but that is probably hard to avoid in this area.Note: There are lots of beach toys, chairs, body boards and snorkel gear to use at the house. This was a plus!

Hawaii was phenomenal! The location of this condo was great. You can go to sleep to the sound of crashing waves (windows open, no a/c). We spotted whales right off the back porch and the sunsets were gorgeous. We had issues with parking, as a very attentive neighbor was quick to point us out. Water was also shut off on us without notice, and someone was in the shower with soap. We only had 3 towels for 4 guests for a 6 night stay. Otherwise, a great stay!

Great stay, great place, great location

We loved the location with the gorgeous view as shown in their advertising. It was delightful eating out on the lanai. The kitchen is well equipped and we were able to prepare any dishes we wanted. There is good ventilation in the rooms upstairs, beds are good. My only regret was not using the swimming pool more often; I get cold easily but the temperature was perfect for swimming, warmer than the ocean; could have stayed in the pool for longer than I actually did without getting cold. If you are into pickleball, tennis or ping pong there are courts and tables available. Kahalu'u Beach is very nearby which is really good for snorkeling - so many colo2rful fish although the coral itself is better at Kealakekua Bay.

Peaceful

Others have noted how great this property is, so I'll concentrate on some smaller things. The kitchen is well equipped; there are tons of books; there are plenty of towels; the place has a welcoming and comfortable vibe. The shower looks out onto the ocean! Two small problems: we had to reset the wifi because our devices weren't connecting (and we are computer savvy), and there is no grill (which is shown in the property photo). The owner's car is parked in the designated parking spot, so we had to park in visitor parking. But this is a great space!

Great View

This property has a great ocean view. Just a short walk to the beach where we enjoyed snorkeling. This property is in a quiet, gated community & was a fairly short drive to lots of activities. The unit was not very clean, but kitchen was well stocked with dishes & utensils. A bag of Kona coffee was provided, which was a nice touch. The condo does not have central air conditioning, which made it very challenging to get comfortable, particularly in the evenings, due to the higher temps & humidity that occurred during our stay. We had searched VRBO using the A/C filter & didn’t notice the fine print prior to booking. When we reached out to property mgmt, they responded the next day & stated “We have never had complaints about the temperature in the unit and I’m sorry you are uncomfortable.” However, there was no offer to provide additional fans or anything to help with the temperatures. They only sent screenshots of the fine print in the listing. We did not let this ruin our trip to the Big Island. We ended up just adjusted our itinerary & planned activities during the evening hours to avoid the heat.

Our first rental - exceeded expectations!

We've never done a rental before. We've always stayed in hotels. This was a great first time experience. Access was easy. The townhouse was as described, clean, and had lots of nice extras like a package of local coffee in the kitchen. The snorkel gear, beach chairs and umbrella were great and nice Tommy Bahama quality, something we wouldn't have at a hotel. From the aloe "after sun" lotion in the downstairs bathroom to the shampoos upstairs, everything we needed was at hand and made us feel at home right away. We loved the location. I'm so glad we didn't book another property we were considering that was right in the busy area of town. This was close to everything, just not noisy and right in the middle of everything, so we got privacy and relaxation. The only inconvenience was that for two days we had to park by the entrance and walk to our unit because of construction, but those types of jobs aren't always communicated to residents, so it's possible they didn't know it would be taking place during our stay. (We probably would have booked anyway!) Also, it was just the two of us, so it didn't matter, but the downstairs shower is marked as not having hot water. Again, with just the two of us we used the upstairs instead, but I suppose if you were in a group, you'd want the shower to have hot water in both bathrooms. Note that there's no air conditioning at this property but it wasn't bad at all. With the ocean breeze and fans, the indoor weather was fine for us. But if you run warm and don't like humidity, you should keep this in mind for this property...

Perfect for our small group

Our small group of friends stayed at this wonderful oceanfront condo for a few days while visiting another friend in Kona. Falling asleep and waking up to the sounds of the ocean, as well as looking out at the ocean while showering, was quite a treat. Since this is and end unit, there were no neighborhood noises at all. The kitchen and bathrooms are nicely updated, and the condo had everything we needed. We enjoyed sitting out on the lanai as well, and even saw a turtle swimming around nearby. The fans and ocean breezes made the temperature very comfortable so that we did not feel the need for AC at all. Even though we had a rental car, we were close enough to walk to the KTA market, Farmer's market, and a coffee place, which was very convenient. Unless I missed it on the amenities list, I did not see a hair dryer listed, although the condo does have one, so maybe an update to the list is needed. Will definitely recommend this condo to friends and family.

Perfect location and very nice townhouse.

Amazing location, right on the ocean! We did not receive check-in information (it may have been caught in our spam filter), so we encourage others to reach out in advance if they have not received it. There were some electrical and housekeeping issues which the owners were extremely accommodating about getting fixed quickly.

Vacationers Beware

Property location, cleanliness, amenities, facilities superb! However, be aware that the advertised price on line for the rental is greatly understated compared to the actual price charged due to "additional charges" imposed by VRBO on top of "Host Service Fee" which is imposed by a separate entity which actually manages the rental unit. And of course taxes are added onto all of the fees. As a result, the true nightly cost is considerably higher than you are led to expect based on VRBO's advertisement for the unit on line. None of this was explained by VRBO when I asked for an itemized breakdown of the charges after first learning about the actual separate property manager for the unit after making the reservation.

Great location and accomodations!

Arriving and seeing and hearing the ocean right beyond the French doors was exhilarating. I loved sleeping to the rhythm of the waves. Everything we needed was very convenient. I highly recommend this rental.

Right on the water!

My brother and I stayed in this townhouse for four days. The location couldn't be beat - right on the ocean. The beach was a lava beach, so not suitable for walking, but the sound of the waves was fantastic. Check-in instructions were very clear and we encountered no problems. The unit was very clean and well cared for. Kitchen and bathrooms are nicely updated. Living room could use more lighting and there were some ants in the kitchen. Since we were there in January, a/c was not necessary, but come summer, it could be an issue since the unit doesn't have a/c, and the upstairs was warm. They do have fans in the bedrooms if needed. The kitchen was well supplied, including a coffee grinder, which my brother really appreciated. The table on the back porch is a perfect spot for meals and sunset watching. Overall, it was a great place to spend some time. Wouldn't mind renting for a month. Will definitely be back one of these days.

Amazing location

We had wonderful time at this property - steps from the beach, gorgeous terrace view, very good cooking equipment! What it else is needed for a nice family vacation?! The pool and the area were good as well - no issues. Property management is very responsive and solved our problem quickly. Highly recommend!

Views and Pool a Plus

I cannot say enough about the view. It is what sells this property. The convenience of a market close by, a pool, and the safety of a gated community, all a plus. Housekeeper was entirely accessible as was the property owner. No complaints there. No AC and pitiful mattresses in both bedrooms, were a serious bummer. This is a great stay if you can do without some creature comforts.

Excellent Ocean View with Wave Sounds not to be beat!

You can't beat the view really. It is as described. We loved falling asleep to the sound of crashing waves. The tide pools in the beach behind the unit were awesome. We saw many sea turtles and some other colorful fish just lazily going about their day in the pools. Only comment really is it was quite warm during our stay and the place did tend to be warm at night. Coming from Chicago, where we had a cool spring and start to summer, it took a few days to adjust to the warmth. But we knew all that going in. Just saying if you are part polar bear like us, you might struggle this time of year here. The owner is great! We had a couple small issues but all resolved quickly. Definitely would recommend and would stay here again!

Awesome Spring Break Stay!

My wife and I along with our 7 year old stayed here over spring break a few weeks back. We were looking for something a little quieter but still close to everything and this house was perfect for us. There is a lava stone beach which at it's busiest had maybe 10 people while we were there. Not the greatest for a dip in the ocean (though you certainly can) but has these awesome tide pools! There were schools of fish (yellow tang most prevalent), tons of blue crabs, sea urchins (hence the reason you don't want to swim here) anemone, and about 10 turtles that we saw! There are also super cool petroglyphs. In the community there are also a bunch of public shoreline trails that take you to some cool lava stone formations and give you a look at some other types of fish. The house featured a beautiful lanai. We bought some puzzles when we arrived and spent early mornings drinking a coffee (there is a spot just up by the drug store), and putting the puzzles together. The waves crashing, sun coming up, and birds visiting us made this a simple but wonderful experience. The house itself is nice and quaint. Has a nice kitchen with everything you need to cook (though we didn't lol). Has an upstairs and downstairs bathroom and 2 bed rooms. The main bedroom has a huge window that gives a beautiful view of the ocean and lava stone beach. The best sleep ever with the waves crashing all night. The 2nd bedroom was two twin beds which was perfect for our daughter. Proximity was also great. About 4 miles down the main road to Kona proper. Do this walk one morning and take an Uber back if you don't feel up to the return. Great views along the way and you can end at Lava Java for breakfast where we saw dolphins playing in the harbor. The next beach up (maybe 1/2 mile at the most) has swimming and body boarding. There are a couple other places along the way to Kona where you could take a dip. Hapuna Beach is only about 30 min away and has traditional white sand beaches if you want to that as well. Owners were very nice too. We lost a pair of goggles playing at Hapuna Beach one day and they didn't sweat it a bit. Overall great place and great stay!

Beautiful location, and remarkable support

The setting and the rental unit were both beautiful. Great location with swimming and snorkeling less than a half-mile walk away, and a black sand beach and native Hawaiian heiau site right outside the patio door. We had the bad luck to be there at a time when unexpected renovations to the building were occurring (roofing, painting, etc.) but the owners were extraordinarily helpful and generous in providing compensation for the trouble. I can’t say enough good things about how responsive they were. We’ll definitely be back!

Beautiful Stay on the Ocean

We recently enjoyed a 7 night stay in this lovely townhouse. The photos and description are accurate. The master bedroom, kitchen and lanai all face the ocean. The master bedroom guests will enjoy the sound of crashing waves at all hours. The second room, complete with 2 twin beds, provides a muted ocean experience. This corner unit offers additional windows for light and air flow, as well as additional outside space. The kitchen is well appointed and we prepared many meals in it. A single parking space is only steps away as is the pool just a short walk. We found it easy and worthwhile to walk North to Kahalu'u Beach Park for snorkeling. The owners provide additonal tips and suggestions on printed sheets within the unit. We brought a copy of Hawai'i Revealed, a valuable book for traveling this island, but a copy is available for use in the unit. Also available is a nice selection of paperback books to read. We found the use of the washer/dryer most helpful when staying a week and with a young child. An issue came up while we stayed, one that would not be repeated for future guests, Patty and Mike were quick to respond and the solution was satisfactory to us as guests. We would highly recommend this unit for a small family or two couples. Enjoy!
