If you are going in winter, make sure to take chains for your tires, especially if it has recently snowed. The roads up till about 1/4 mile to the cabin were clear. After that it was pretty icy and we were slipping. We couldn’t even get into the driveway, we were getting stuck. With a lot of effort finally managed to park off to the side on the road.
And then had to carry everything into the cabin from the road up the icy driveway - not the safest conditions.
We had NO HOT WATER. The management company was helpful, in that they came out quickly in the evening to check it out but unfortunately they weren’t able to fix it.
So we had no hot water for showers for 3 days or a few opted for quick ice cold showers, washing dishes and hands in ice cold water.
Management told us to turn off all the thermostats and then wait to see if we get hot water. Nope, didn’t work and we had to sit in a cold cabin for hours hoping to get some hot water.
Also, I’ve had formed on the wall outside the first level bathroom which was melting and causing a puddle of water inside the bathroom. Management said they would come and melt the ice so we wouldn’t have the puddle but they did not take care of this during our stay.
A very measly discount was given due to the hot water issue, but it was not enough. Had gone up for my mom’s birthday, had two young children and two elderly parents - so having to sit in a cold cabin while waiting for some hot water to shower was not really an option. Also, when you spend the day out in park, you’d like to come back to a warm cabin and be able to take a hot or even warm shower. We had neither. And it was cold out!
The cabin was lovely but the owner of the property is not responsive and their credit for the inconvenience was pathetic.
