We loved this Adega and were so sad to leave! The house is lovely and well appointed. It is so quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed listening to the waves from the porch. We really appreciated the washer and dryer! There is a nearby natural pool with bathroom and shower facilities that we had to ourselves. About 1 mile down the road is a little store that manages to stock anything you could want. We went each morning for coffee and pastry that we enjoyed with a view of the ocean. Pico is small enough that this location worked very well for exploring the island.

FANTASTIC

This house is great. Located mid-island, it is convenient for travel all over the island. Shopping is nearby and some of the best restaurants are easy to reach. We strongly recommend Magma (just about 1 mile from house), Cinco (located in Madalena) and Mar Sushi Terrace (located in Lajes). All of these restaurants are really good, and priced properly. Service is exceptional. We stayed in this house for 14 days and really enjoyed the surroundings and the noise of the ocean crashing into the rocks.

This place is one of the most wonderful stays we ever had. The surrounding is so beautiful that it left us speechless on arrival. The host is super nice, she waited for us at the flat and greeted us. The house is beautiful, we didn't expect it to be so big. It's very clean and cosy with a wonderful view from a bedroom, you can hear beautiful sounds of ocean and birds. We absolutely loved this place.

Quiet location at the end of a no-through road. Lovely terrace with a gorgeous sea view. Delightfully furnished interior. Lighting inside could be brighter to facilitate reading. Wi-fi connection is slow and intermittent. No washing machine available in the rooms open to guests

A couple of days in paradise

It is a wonderful place in a tranquil setting, one of the loveliest I have ever been to. The house has everything one can need and is very cosy. The perfect starting point for getting to know the island. And above all, Nancy is one of the best hosts I have ever met.

Relaxing in Beauty and Creativity

I absolutely loooved Nancy's remodeled lava rock abode which is nestled above Canto Bay of Pico Island! Her artistic talent flows throughout the home, adding to the beautiful ocean view from the kitchen and outside deck area. The hiking trail behind the home takes you up the cliff overlooking the bay -- so fun and convenient! Nancy's hospitality was greatly appreciated! Would love to come back! Beth (Minneapolis, MN USA)

Heel mooi ingericht huis. We werden ontvangen met heerlijk eten en drinken. Het is er erg gezellig en ook heel schoon. Het uitzicht is op de zee en het is er erg rustig. Het enige minpunt zijn de krakende bedden. Verder perfect. Het hele eiland is goed te berijden vanaf het huis. Nog bedankt voor de mooie tijd.

Lovely cottage surrounded by natural beauty

My husband and I spent a week in this lovely cottage/adega by the sea. Enchanting describes it well. In addition to having all the amenities you would need for a very comfortable stay, full kitchen, etc., it is decorated with many of the artist owner's pieces of their own work which adds a special touch. The location is absolutely beautiful. From the back of the cottage your view is of a stunning cliff and from the front balcony the view is of the ocean. One of our favorite things to do each morning was to have our breakfast on the balcony while staring out at the sea before going on our daily walk. We also very much enjoyed being allowed to help ourselves to the fresh tomatoes and kale growing in the cottage garden. I could go on. Suffice it to say, the amenities were very good; very clean accommodations; and very friendly and helpful hosts. We will be back in the future, but for a longer period of time. Highly recommend.

I can't say enough about this vacation rental. The owner was very efficient and made us feel like we were a part of her family. The location was ideal and afforded us the privacy we were looking for along with the picture perfect scenery we were hoping for. The home is well maintained and has so many artistic, one-of-a-kind features that give it a unique, quaint atmosphere. It was clean and well kept with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. I definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to spend a little time in their own secluded island retreat.

Amazing View, Peaceful and Quiet, Clean, Cozy

The property is beautiful. It sits near the end of a road, with spectacular views of the island of Sao Jorge. It is clean, peaceful - no pet noises or roosters, comfortable and very cozy. The host couldn't be more kind. The artisty touches in the house are really cool and the woodwork in the kitchen is really neat. I have been visiting every year for about 3 years now... one of my favorite places on Pico Island.

This area of Santo Amaro, known as Canto is a unique spot where the traditional adegas were built and used for the wine harvest.

この宿泊施設の特徴

We loved that this traditional and lovingly restored stone "wine cellar" has amazing views of the ocean and the island of Sao Jorge across the channel. Another delightful aspect of it is the vineyards and lush fields all around. One thing is that it's very quiet with no barking dogs and early morning roosters crowing. The sounds of the ocean and the Cory Shearwaters is like a lullaby when it's time to sleep! In the morning while sitting on the balcony with coffee you may see dolphins and the occasional whale spout as well as the hawks from which the Azores were given their name.
