Family Tides was beautiful! It reminded us of the times we stay at 30A! It was very well maintained, clean, and nicely decorated. We will be back for sure! Even though it was not on the beach, it was very close/walking distance with small kids! We enjoyed all of the porches along with the water feature/pond and large green space in the back. We also loved the beach club! Ate there every night because any grocery store is 30 min away! Great food though! One small hiccup: we experienced some stormy weather and the “hurricane doors” would literally fly open from the wind. A little scary. We put chairs in front of them so they wouldn’t randomly take out one of the babies

Property is in excellent condition and just as advertised. The management company is very responsive and did a great job explaining the process. Kitchen is well setup for visitors and the bathrooms were in great working order. Outdoor spaces are amazing and relaxing. Took advantage of the beach club, was a great addition to the beach. Would definitely rent this house again!

Perfect family vacation home

This house is well appointed for hosting families. There is a large dining table that seats 12. The kitchen is well stocked with all you need to cook and serve a family meal. There are multiple porches with adequate seating, so you never have to sit in direct sun. Beach access is two houses away.

Perfect for our Family reunion

Family Tides was the perfect house for our family reunion. Everything was beautiful and as the photos show if not better. The house had a kitchen stocked with all the necessary gadgets . The master bed and bath was luxurious ! We’d be back in a heartbeat!

An awesome place to vacation!

Our family spent a week at this Property "Family Tides" and had a great time. The Pointe West area is beautiful, as is this house! It's very spacious and nicely furnished, and the kitchen is extremely well stocked with everything you need for preparing and serving just about any meal. They thought of everything. We were pleasantly surprised - as we did not need to use any of our own cooking supplies that we took. We enjoyed the Gas Grill (but if you prefer to BBQ with charcoal - they also have an Ole' Smokey). We loved the back porch / patio area. The picnic table was perfect for days we grilled out and their small gas firepit was perfect for making Smores. The outdoor seating on every balcony is so inviting, and the views are awesome. We loved watching the Momma duck teach her little ducklings how to swim and dive for food every morning and evening. Too cute! And if you like napping or reading while lying in a hammock you're going to love the one on the back patio. No need to take ANY toys for sand castle building -- they have tons! They also had several boogie boards & pool noodles. And although we did not need/use it, we were surprised to see they even had an outdoor play pen with a mosquito net for little ones. As for the beach, when we were there we found it to be very nice and quiet (but that was late August). It was extremely clean and very well maintained. You can't drive on the beach but are able to put up tents which is nice. But it is a good little walk to the beach (including the long walkway over the dunes) so if you plan to take a lot of stuff to the beach, you'll definitely want to pack a Wagon for that. The property does have one but although it's not functional so don't count on using theirs. We purchased a collapsible one on Amazon (with beach tires) and loaded it down every day with our ice chest, chairs and tent and it proved to be a real life savor for sure. Overall, this is a great place that we would not hesitate to rent again!

The house was roomy and designed well for a large group.

Family Tides is located conveniently (very close!) to the path to the beach and is only a short walk (0.5 miles) to the beach club. The house is roomy and has a fresh appearance with nice decor. The kitchen is large enough for several people to be doing things at the same time; this is key to having a great vacation with friends - and this is a wonderful feature of this house! One of our party noted that the bed was quite soft in the downstairs bedroom. We were likely the first guests of the season, so the management left us enough supplies for one load of laundry, two loads of dishes, and there were just enough bath towels for everyone in the house. The weather was rainy, but there were multiple televisions in the house if people wanted to watch television (we mostly chose to sit outside and chat or read). The covered porch out front (three chairs) was wonderful for AM coffee, and the larger back porch (uncovered, six chairs) was great for sitting and chatting with snacks or a meal. We brought our own games and puzzles - there were just a few in scattered drawers throughout the house. The house felt very solid and well constructed. When the folks next door had a large party, we barely heard them. It was a great weekend, and I would stay in this house again!

Vacation 2022

The house on Jamaica Beach was amazing. Clean and beautiful. Awesome location and the beachclub was awesome. The house on Hershey Beach was horrible and should not be allowed to be rented out to anyone. That house was misrepresented as to the pictures on the website versus what we walked in to. VRBO was very nice to work with and followed through with everything they promised.

Nice House and Great Location

Nice property for families. Great beach access and a very clean beach. Access to the beach club that has a beautiful infinity pool. You also have access to a small lazy river pool. More than enough water activities for everyone in the family.

Beach Getaway

This house was perfect for our family which consisted of my husband and me; our daughter, her husband, and their one-year-old daughter; our son, his wife, and their three-year-old son. We ate every meal at the house and the house has a great selection of cookware, etc. The house is close to the beach and just a short drive to the pool.

Best Galveston Stay Yet

We had the best time. The house is gorgeous, family friendly and so close to the beach. The beds were comfortable, master bath awesome and just a wonderful stay. We will definitely be back.

Great Vacation Spotps

We have never been to Galveston or even thought about it. But circumstances changed our usual family trip to the Jersey shore. I was a little nervous having no frame of reference about Galveston. It was so much better than expected! The house was better than shown in pictures. Everything we needed was there and the beach just steps away. The beach was perfect for our two young grandchildren. The club house pool and the lazy river made for hours of fun. We discovered some great little places to shop and eat. We could not be any happier with our experience.

Nice but needs to be sprayed for ants!

The house was nice. Kitchen was large and ample room for many cooks in the kitchen. Noticed ants in kitchen and 2nd floor bedroom and contacted property manager. Was told maintenance would come but never did. Inquired twice about this. Bought Raid and sprayed the areas but ants still a nuisance. Laundry pods placed in kitchen with dishwasher pods. Ran the dishwasher since no label and water/suds throughout part of kitchen. Both situations were not ideal, but we still had a nice vacation. Kinda peeved that the ants were never addressed.

Great house, but.......

The house was as pictured. The thing that they do not show you is that the community has grown and the houses are super close to each other and there is construction going on all over the community. The location is about 30 minutes away from everything, so you spend at least an hour of your day driving if you go into the seawall area. I was very surprised to find that there was no broom or mop at the house, we had to go buy one. The kitchen is pretty well stocked, but there was only 1 pot holder. I don't think we will be staying here again.

Great family vacation location.

It was a beautiful house and great walking distance to beach. Lots of steps up to the house and to the second floor bed rooms, so challenging if you have some types of physical limitations.

First vacay in over a year

Very easy rental process, house was great, easy walk to beach, plenty of beach toys! Would suggest book on house to be left at property : places to eat, how to use the appliances, work the doors, TV options. The area and closeness to the Beach Club is a a true winner for the property!

Birthday Weekend Getaway

It was wonderful! We came in for a weekend getaway with our kiddos and grand babies to celebrate my husband’s birthday! The home was beautiful and roomy, just perfect for our group! There were plenty of places to hang out both inside and out. Short walk to the beach, which was great for the 4 babies. They loved it!! Would definitely stay here again! 😍

Double nickel celebration

We loved this getaway for my husband's 55th birthday. We were bummed about not being able to use the beach resort due to the cold and windy weather. Since we had 4 children in our party, we didn't want to risk any of them getting sick being in and out of the water. So we lost $150. It looked amazing though with 3 pools, the restaurant and access to the gym. It was a bit of a walk from our property but really not too far, so in the summer when weather is warmer it would be a nice stroll. But staying at Family Tides was wonderful because it was spacious, had a large kitchen (which is where our family usually gathers anyway). The kitchen was fully equipped so since we stayed mostly indoors, we were able to cook and enjoy home cooked meals. The decor and furniture were beautiful, clean and very functional! The bathrooms could have used more soaps and extra towels so be sure to bring your own. They don't supply beach towels so you need to bring those too. We especially loved the 3 different patios we could just sit and relax in. When it wasn't too cold we were able to take out our kites and fly them! We would like to come back and make full use of the beach resort next time! It would be nice if we could get a refund or credit for our resort passes since we couldn't use it. Otherwise we had a fabulous stay!

Spend a wonderful day at the pool or beach at the luxurious Pointe West Beach Club. Pointe West offers numerous amenities including, an infinity pool, children’s pool, lazy river(heated in the Winter), fitness center, gift shop, and restaurant. The Resort is independently run and charges $25 per person, (3 years or older) year-round. The access fee is paid by credit card or cash directly to the Beach Club and is not included in the rental rates.
