My husband recently passed away and my children wanted to celebrate his birthday at the beach. Staying in this unit right on the beach with the panoramic views was the gorgeous, peaceful, joyous getaway we needed. Sandpiper Cove never dissatisfy!

Amazing view

I contacted the company to make sure the house was spotless because my dad had chemo so we needed everything to be super clean and it totally was! Although not all the lights worked and it was a little confusing because some lights turned off other lights and so on. The front door handle was broken but we kept having to fix it. We came while they were painting the house so our privacy was a little disturbed but they came super early and didnt really bother us too much. We will stay here again because the unit was totally worth it. Right on the beach! We could see people fishing and dolphins almost every morning! It was just what we needed and the unit came well equipped

Overall we had a good stay. This year we had an air conditioning issue each night the first night a security guard named Caesar was able to help us getting it working after that we had to you tube it and fix it ourselves. Ever time I called I would get the same answer if anyone picked up. It’s a holiday weekend (which is why we were there) we will get back to ASAP. No one ever did call us or sent a maintenance man. Caesar was very helpful and showed us how to reset the thermostat to get it working. An on call maintenance service sounds like a must especially on holiday weekends.

Beautiful Destin! Love Sandpiper but Unit fell below expectations

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed at several SPC units over the past few yrs and have always had a good experience. This particular unit has a spectacular oceanfront view and just steps from the beach. However, the unit fell below our expectations. It didn't feel particularly "clean" and were lacking a few items (things as simple as hand towels). It is in need of some updates ie refrigerator freezer door did not open completely, some stove burners did not function completely or at all, master needs to be renovated (glass shower door was stuck and loose, mold on tile, dirt on floor boards, etc); 2nd bath toilet seat broken; lots of furniture in the unit felt cluttered; lots of items on the balcony felt cluttered; Unit really needs a good cleaning and paint job and repairs. We will be back to Sandpiper Cove but will not stay at this unit again unless some repairs are done.

Great View and Spacious for Large Family

My family has stayed here multiple times in the past. The best beach/ocean view. The unit was very clean and spacious. However, the air return vent was covered in dust. The air quality smells a bit moldy and saw some evidence of mold around the air vents. The unit could use a few repairs and updating. There were several loose tiles on the floor that every time stepped on thought it would break apart. The light switch in the kitchen you had to flip several times to come on. I reported the light was not working before I figured it out and we heard nothing or a check on from Sandpiper management. The front door lock was very difficult to lock and open. But overall the unit was a good fit for our family. We had no issues to interfere with our vacation. I would definitely recommend this unit. It just needs a few repairs and perhaps due for a remodel soon.

Location Location Location 2023

First, it's important to understand we've been coming to the Destin area for now 16 straight years! Of those 16 years we've stayed at SPC 13 of those years. Why, Location, Security/Safety, easy access to nearby restaurants, shopping, etc. Also, we've stayed at 3 different condos at SPC for multiple reasons. This year we had our daughter and grandson join us, so we decided on a "larger" unit, one that would accommodate our requirements. One, unit #1114 is by far the "best" location on the property for the ocean views, spectacular views from every room. If you are needing a condo that accommodates 6 comfortable, and steps from the ocean then this is it!! As for us, when we travel, we travel with food, and extra supplies because we like to cook breakfast, make sandwiches, have snacks, etc. So, we always hope every condo has adequate pans, cooking sheets, etc. If you're that traveler, make sure to bring a good "pan", and a few extra cooking sheets, and cleaning supplies, this condo is lacking a few good items for cooking, and cleaning. We spent a good hour cleaning when we first arrived, it's Florida so you're going to have bugs. Luckly, we arrived a few days prior than our daughter, so we had time to clean!! There is nothing wrong with this condo, we will book again. We were fortunate that they delivered a new stove during our stay, it needed an upgrade badly. This condo with a few solid upgrades could easily become one of SPC's "premier" Condos. Loved it, had awesome time !!

Great view but Unit 1114 is a bit outdated & dirty!!

Reviewer Comments: After arriving later in the evening, we were not able to actually check- in at the rental office until the next morning. To our surprise the unit was a bit outdated and definitely not as clean as I would have expected for $495 per night!! There were crumbs in the drawers, cutting boards that had food on it, a broken coffee cup in the cabinet, screws on the floor, dead birds on the deck, siding and wood up against one of the patio doors, siding and light fixtures missing on the deck, a rusty shelf in the master bathroom, patched holes in the walls, a shower door that barely opens and closes, stains under the bathroom cabinet where the "clean" towels we were supposed to use were, a broom that was so worn we couldn't use it, a washer and dryer that definitely needs updating, a front door that wouldn't close all the way, a large unwanted cockroach guest on our second night and the list could go on!! When we went in the next morning to the rental office to check in, their response was "make us a list of the things that are wrong and we can fix them"??? Well I guess here is your list. They also had said they would refund the cleaning fee and see what they could do about the rental rate. The assistant manager was supposed to call me to discuss this and we haven't heard a thing. Maintenance did appear randomly throughout our stay to address a few of the issues but it appears that maybe this unit is in renovation and shouldn't be rented until all the renovations are done. Wish they would have let us know this before we stayed. We did come down with friends and their unit was updated and very nice for much less than we paid. Extremely disappointed and would not stay at Sandpiper Cove again as the units seem to be hit or miss!!

Unfortunately, for the past couple years, the prices have gone up and I don't think we can afford to stay here any longer.The third bedroom is so small. Housekeeping needs to look under the bed. there was an open bag of chips under the bed in that room. Also, the light in the kitchen must have had a short. You would have to jiggle the switch for it to come on then the last day it wouldn't turn off. But all that said, it is the best view on the beach! We will miss it :-(

Reviewer Comments: Process went smoothly from the beginning inquiry, to check-in, to settling into our BEAUTIFUL beachfront condo!We had a family get together, and it worked out great - we all gathered often in our 3 BR unit, while each family had their own condos. The little par 3 golf course was a lot of fun, along with all the time at the beach and the ocean. The white sand was wonderful! The kids loved the pools and hot tubs (I just wish they had a sauna at the resort). All in all, a great family vacation at Sandpiper Cove!

Yikes! There’s a Mouse in the House

Certainly made us uncomfortable & creeped out. Called to report this after check out so appropriate measures could be taken before the next renter showed up & the person who took my call didn’t seem at all surprised at this news nor did she offer an apology. Odd version of customer service. Unit definitely needs some TLC as far as updates and general upkeep.

Very easy place to bring our kids The screen door was in pretty rough shape and there were no operating windows in the ocean side bedroom. Would have been an awesome perk to hear the sound of waves while sleeping. House could use some repair/updating but overall we were very pleased. Would absolutely stay there again. Extremely clean, plenty of brooms, window squeegee, water toys, chairs, even a beach umbrella! Would recommend a new vacuum, it did not perform well. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
