We were not welcomed at all, it was more like use renting their house and it was a VERY large inconvenience to them⊠and they made that clear. We were sent an email by the rental company that outlined the following:
⢠Check-in time: 3:00PM
⢠At least 48 hours prior to check-in, mail the guest contact to get the keyless entry code to house
⢠Check out BEFORE 10:00AM ( VERY EARLY)
⢠Remove all perishable items
⢠Close and lock all windows and doors. Turn key on the outside to lock the door
⢠We also paid a cleaning fee
Issues:
1. I emailed the guest contact at least 48 hours prior to check in and received no response. Continued to email and call and received no response. After traveling 5 hours, arrived in Chelan with family. No response. Called rental company, Evolve, no help what sop ever. We show up at the house at 3:30PM to find the owner and his wife still cleaning the house. And were told that WE didnât follow the directions and that WE are not supposed to check in until 4:00PM at the earliest.
2. We were not given a key to the house or keyless entry code. We were told that we had to go in/out via garage.
3. We were told by owner that we were not allowed in garage.
4. The owner locked doors to rooms ( i.e. office and other rooms) so were unable to use, although the office was advertised as a room that we could use/ additional sleeping quarters
5. The refrigerator and freezer were full of food. For a family of 7, we had 1 shelf and one drawer that we could use. We were told by owner that that we had to use our coolers.
6. House was very much lived in, i.e. their toothbrushes, clothes, personal hygiene items, etc. were in the house. It felt as if this was their home that they lived in on a regular basis and we imposing on them
7. They seemed to have an issue with us having kids ( although they were listed on the reservation)
8. We were told to clean various things, although we paid a cleaning fee.
9. The owner came to the house to retrieve items from the garage, then did a walkthrough of the house, while we were there. It honestly seemed like he was checking up on us.
10. No extra Blankets or sheets available
There is more, but not enough space to write it. All and all, this was an uncomfortable experience and the total downside of the vacation.
