We were unaware that the AC at the property was not working until after your stay when our cleaning crews reported the issue. The problem with the units has been resolved so the property will be cool for all future stays. We hope to see you at the beach again next time!

Thank you for your feedback. We're truly sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations, especially in regard to cleanliness and noise. We wish we had been made aware during your stay of these issues so we could have had the opportunity to address them for you right away. We do our best to set clear expectations in the property listing by noting that the home is walking distance to two local bars, which may lead to some noise due to the proximity to the local nightlife. We also disclose that this is one side of a duplex, which can occasionally result in shared common areas, like parking. We’re always looking for ways to improve and appreciate your comments. We hope you were still able to enjoy some of what the area has to offer.

We certainly apologize that you encountered any issues at all with the property. Yes, the property is located behind a store and bar (as disclosed in the description) but the maritime environment, in general, has many species of wildlife. We are not convinced the rats are a product of the store or bar. We were able to alleviate their visits through a couple of different techniques and have had no more reports concerning rats. All of the properties we manage are required to have pest control contracts. Management was not informed about the other issues discussed above until this review was posted and you had departed. We regret this as we could have cured these small other issues in just a few short hours. We have replaced the picnic table with a new one & replaced the grill. The bikes were left free of charge as a courtesy. However, we have removed them at this time due to maintenance concerns and have no plans of replacing them. We do ask all guests to supply their own propane. We do this mainly because the corrosive environment of the island does not treat propane tanks well and they become unsafe very quickly; just as the hose did on the grill that was at the property (now replaced). We also ask that all grills are cleaned by the guests after their use. Apparently, the previous guests did not clean the grill. We will ask them to be more mindful on their next stay. We would also like to add that we gave you $100 off your next stay as a token of our apology. We are happy to report that “The Covey Cottage” is back to being a great and affordable spot on the island with our corrective actions and we are sure you will enjoy your next stay. Again, sorry that you had any issues but we hope that the stay was otherwise pleasant.
