Magnolia Cottage Cozy Home

Magnolia Cottage is a charming remodeled historic cottage located in downtown Santa Barbara. The quiet location makes for the perfect launching pad to explore all that Santa Barbara has to offer.

The front of the home has great curb appeal with the enclosed yard, wood picket fence, manicured lawn, and mature magnolia and palm trees. The driveway leads to the back of the property with a detached 1-car garage.

Inside you have hardwood floors throughout the home and dual pane windows. The formal living room has sectional sofa and a flat-screen TV with Roku set to guest mode so you can login to your own apps.

Adjacent to the living room you have the guest bedroom with a full bed, bedside table with drawers, shelves, and a reading light. The guest bathroom has a tub/shower combo.

In the middle of the home, you have the second bedroom with a queen bed.

The passageway to the Kitchen is a modern doublewide opening.

The kitchen features stainless steel appliances, an island with two bar stools, and a gas cooktop. The french doors in the kitchen lead out to the side yard with a fenced-in dog run and the gas bbq grill. The kitchen also has a Roku TV.

The hallway leading to the master bedroom has a nook with a built-in desk, chair, printer, and Wi-Fi Modem.

There are three steps leading up to the master suite which as a King bed, two bedside tables with reading lamps, a dresser, and a chaise lounge. There is also a flat-screen TV in the master suite.

The master bathroom has dual sinks and a walk-in shower with a rain shower head.

This immaculate well maintained home has several great outdoor areas to relax and enjoy our perfect weather. The covered front porch with bench seating, the back patio with table and chairs, or the rooftop deck with chaise lounges, table, and umbrella.

The master bedroom exit takes you to a garden patio that has a table with an umbrella, seating for six guests, and a firepit. What a great area for entertaining family and friends.

Next to the garden patio, you have three steps leading up to the grass lawn with lemon trees. From the lawn, you have six steps that take you to the raised deck over the garage. Here you have potted plants, a table with an umbrella and two chaise lounges for soaking up the sun-filled days.

Next to the garage is an outdoor shower you can use to wash the sand off after coming back from the local beaches.

Magnificient Magnolia Cottage

Magnolia Cottage provided a wonderful base camp as we welcomed our new granddaughter into the world. "Bear Cave" as our 4-year old grandson nicknamed Magnolia Cottage provided hours of play time (including wrestling), food preparation, baking and even a gingerbread house build. Particulars:The house itself is charming - 3 nice bedrooms, 2 baths.All the beds are comfortable, well pillowed. Kitchen is well appointed - has anything you will need, including a hand mixer for gingerbread house mixing. Viking Stove. Bosch dishwasher. Living room/Dining room are cozy - and we hosted 7 for Thanksgiving Dinner. The backyard/patio area is really nice - but you'll need to visit during warmer months to enjoy it. IF you are including work in your visit - there is a full service desk area with lots of plugs, printer, paper, and more. (fortunately, we are retired)Washer and dryer are top of the line - we used both as ours was a 5-week stay. The listing says "narrow driveway" and they are not kidding. You should have very good backup camera - or be a better driver than me - to negotiate the driveway. One parking tip: Street parking is by permit on the even side of the street...on 407 E. side the only thing you have to worry about is Street Sweeping from 8-10am on Mondays (I think). I almost never do reviews - but Magnolia Cottage deserves all 5 stars. Hope you enjoy it, too.

Great location. Excellent property manager.

Loved the location close to downtown. Neighbor’s houses on either side were pretty rundown. Home was comfortable and nicely appointed, albeit a little eclectic. Loved Santa Barbara. The property managers were very responsive and the property services (lawn mowing, etc) were stellar.

Best house to rent in Santa Barbara!

I was very impressed with this home. The yard is very well maintained. The property is very dog friendly. Location with off the street parking and a 2 car garage was great! I would highly recommend this house. I have already booked it again for 2024

Sweet magnolia

In our 12 years of using VRBO houses, this is our favorite. Super central location, easy walk to County Courthouse and State Street. It is well stocked and has a gorgeous backyard. Charming barely describes it. The two months went by too quickly.

Beautiful Garden

From the wall of bamboo to the lavendar and fire pot, the backyard was a treat. The kitchen was well stocked. Great location, too!

Wonderful home in a great location

This home is really lovely. The neighborhood is fantastic and very walkable to State Street and the beach. I felt safe walking alone by myself. There are several cute sitting areas on the property to enjoy the evening breeze. The neighbors are very nice, the kitchen was fantastic for making meals. it was really hard to leave this house

Wonderful property in great location

This property is wonderful. It felt like a home, not a professional rental. The garden and outdoor space was super. We fell in love with it after staying for a month and would rent again if possible.

Flying south for January

We experimented with leaving the northern cold for CA sun in January. This palace was perfect for my wife and I, as newly retired snowbirds. It was quaint, cozy, quiet, and comfortable. We love Santa Barbara and this property fit our needs for a month away to the sun. We spent lots of time on the back deck.

Better Than the Photos

Stayed for a month at this sweet property. Was even better than the description and photos made it appear. Spotless, super quiet - yet short walk to State Street - made it a great place to get away and recharge. Communication with property manager - Spenser - was excellent.

Excellent Location & Lovely Outdoor Space

Magnolia Cottage is ideally located within walking distance to downtown restaurants and stores. It’s an easy 10-15 minute drive to the beaches, and 20 minutes from some amazing hikes. We absolutely loved the outdoor space. The back yard has several seating areas, and there is a beautiful assortment of trees and plantings. We were disappointed in the house itself. The house is very dark, and the furniture is not comfortable. The linens and pillows are old and need to be replaced. The management company was very responsive when we had a question about the outdoor grill, and they provided ample supplies for our monthlong stay.

Wonderful cozy cottage!

Magnolia Cottage was perfect for our vacation. The house was very clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. The backyard was beautifully landscaped and the garage roof deck was great for outdoor dining - a wonderful private space. We would definitely come back again!

Fabulous Santa Barbara Vacation Rental

We just returned from our wonderful visit to Magnolia Cottage in Santa Barbara. Our daughter was attending a photography class for the week at Brooks Institute and the house was the perfect walking distance to school and quaint downtown Santa Barbara. We enjoyed the fabulous home and amenities as well as the beautiful landscaped yard. Donna and Kelsey at Santa Barbara Exclusive Rentals provided excellent communication and service both prior to our stay and on our arrival. We look forward to returning... hopefully soon...to Magnolia Cottage.

Thoroughly Enjoyable Visit

This property worked perfectly for our needs. We were in Santa Barbara for both business and a wedding and stayed for eight nights. Various families members were able to visit at different times and stayed in the 2nd bedroom which had its own full bath and was easily closed off for privacy. The grounds are immaculate and the neighbors were extremely pleasant. The property managers were very attentive and accommodating -- much appreciated! Everything allowed for a quiet stay in a beautiful setting and a great town. We look forward to our next visit!

Wonderful Place to Stay

We stayed here for a week over a school break with our famiy of five (dog included). The house is beautiful and has all the amenities one could want; comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen, beach supplies, games and a great location. The home and yard are absolutely specatular, well designed and family friendly! We look forward to visiting again soon.
