When I first saw this property and photos on VRBO, like Liz Lemon I said, 'I want to go to there!'... and upon arrival, we were WOWed with how beautiful and amazing the property was. It met all expectations set by the profile online, and even exceeded it in many regards. The beds were comfy, the rooms and outdoor spaces perfect and inviting, the kitchen was stocked and well equipped. We were as happy returning to the house and spending time there and cooking, as we were with the wondrous and and magical places were were visiting during the day.
The outdoor shower.... words fail me. So I thought I'd dedicate a paragraph to it. We all fell in love with it!
Not to say it was completely flawless... a few lamps and fans could use a little repair (nothing major AT ALL), and the first night had a series of mishaps with the smoke detectors going off two or three times in the middle of the night which wasn't great for already jet-lagged folks and a two year old... However, Skip, the property manager who lived down the road was Johnny-on-the-spot... He rushed over immediately any time we called and was extremely helpful and charming. Everyone we met who came to work on the properties was a delight to interact with.
Suffice it to say, I can't say enough about how much we loved getting to stay there, and would re-book this property in a heartbeat. Just know that it is a little bit out of the way from any main town, but in other ways it's nicely centrally located to many of the major things you'd want to do and see. The closest towns and markets are just a few minutes drive away. The last point I'll make is that if you rent the house, just be aware that other folks might be in the Guest House at the same time. Our first night, the crew in the guesthouse was a bit noisy, but Skip asked them to be mindful as we had a sleeping toddler, and then in the subsequent nights we had a different set of people come in who were rather delightful and more interactive. So as with anything with shared space, it could be a bit of a crap shoot... But we lucked out there for the most part. Of course if you have a larger group and rent out both spaces, then your golden... And can only complain about yourself and question your own friendship and family at that point (hehehe).
Thanks again to Aki and Laura for providing and sharing such an amazing space, and to Skip and the housekeeping lady and the painter dude who came through at some point too.
Amazing!
