Secluded Glass Cabin in the Woods, 3 Minutes to Windham Mountain

The second of our two signature mirrored cabins, set on its own in the trees. Floor-to-ceiling mirrored glass reflects the forest back at the woods and keeps the inside entirely private, while you look out on Catskills hardwood in every direction. There is no second cabin in view and no shared wall.

A retreat for two, three minutes from the mountain.

THE SPACE
About 250 square feet of open, light-filled room with radiant heated tile floors and glass on all sides. Small by design, warm and considered in the details.

SLEEPING
Queen bed dressed in premium linens, duvet and pillows, facing the forest. Sleeps 2.

BATHROOM
Spa-inspired private en-suite with rainfall shower, quality fixtures and premium toiletries.

KITCHEN AND LIVING
Kitchenette for coffee, breakfast and light cooking, with a table for two. Smart TV, smart speaker, central air conditioning and heat.

OUTSIDE YOUR DOOR
Private propane fire pit with two Adirondack chairs. Bring a bottle of something and stay out past dark.

THE ESTATE
Haüs Windham is a boutique 11-unit retreat on a private 17-acre estate in Windham, New York. Shared guest amenities include a fitness center with cardio equipment and free weights, a sauna, a screening room, high-speed fiber Wi-Fi throughout, generous free parking, and Tesla destination charging.

LOCATION
3 minutes to the Windham Mountain lifts
12 minutes to Hunter Mountain
Walking distance to the Windham Path and the Windham Country Club golf course
2 hours from New York City; 45 minutes from Albany International Airport
Minutes from the restaurants, breweries and shops of Windham village

GOOD TO KNOW
Check-in is contactless. Your keypad code arrives ahead of arrival, so you come and go on your own schedule with no front desk to meet.
Haüs Windham is a multi-building estate reached by a shared, partly gravel driveway. Your unit is entirely private; the grounds are shared with other guests.
Cell service in the cabins is limited. Wi-Fi is fast and Wi-Fi calling works well. The setting is peaceful woodland on an operating estate rather than true wilderness.
This is a compact cabin built for two, with a kitchenette rather than a full kitchen.

This was a unique and fun VRBO experience. The cabin was cozy and comfortable. So delightful to wake up to deer walking right by the window! Absolutely a gem of a property!

The cabin is adorable and jist right for what we wanted. The bed was comfortable and it really felt like you were immersed in nature insidethe cabin. The big disappointment for us was that the hot tub wouldn't get hot. It was 87 degrees and we tried everything we could think of to try to get the temp to go up,but to no avail. We specifically chose this listing over another one for the hot tub, and when it wouldnt get hot at all we werw very disappointed that we paid the extra money to get a place with a hot tub.

We stayed one night in Mirror Haus 2 and really enjoyed the unique experience. The suite was very clean and set up like a small hotel room. The shower has both a rain head and a handheld sprayer, which I appreciated since I am not a big rain shower fan. The mirror design makes the space feel almost 360 degrees connected to the outdoors during the day while still private. At night, with lights on, you will want to close the curtains if changing. The surrounding property is beautiful with forest and meadow views, and our pup loved exploring and stretching her legs. We even saw deer in the morning and watched the sun rise over the mountains. The mini kitchen area has a great mini fridge with a tiny freezer section and dishes for simple meals, though there is no microwave or cooking appliances. The garbage is in a slide out cupboard that only opens once you press open the adjacent cupboard door, which is a small quirky detail to know. The bathroom mirror is hung for taller guests, but there is a full length mirror in the closet. Outlets on both sides of the bed, games, cards, and strong internet and TV were nice touches. Parking was easy even with our large pickup. The only challenge was cooling the cabin during the extreme heat and humidity, which is not the host's fault. The AC just could not keep up until evening. A few items like bottle caps and cigarette butts were left outside by previous guests. Overall, the price felt a bit high, but it is a truly unique stay and I imag

この宿泊施設の特徴

Haus Windham occupies a category that almost doesn't exist in the Catskills — a boutique hotel and luxury vacation rental hybrid set on 22 private acres, backed by 80 additional acres of protected forest. Most properties in the area force a tradeoff: hotel-style service and amenities, or the space and privacy of a vacation rental. Here, you get both.

THE PROPERTY
22 private acres with on-property hiking trails, propane fire pits with Adirondack chairs, Tesla Destination Charging, and free parking. The 80 acres of protected forest behind us mean the views and the quiet are permanent.

THE SUITES
11 individually designed accommodations ranging from 250 sq ft glass mirror cabins to a 2,500 sq ft 5-bedroom chalet — the widest variety of luxury options on a single Catskills property. Every suite includes Parachute linens, heated tile floors, gas fireplaces, spa-style bathrooms with rainfall showers, Samsung Smart TVs, and Amazon Echo. Most have full or partial kitchens. No two suites are alike, but every one is held to the same finish standard.

OUR SIGNATURE: GLASS MIRRÖR HAÜS CABINS
Two stand-alone cabins with mirrored exterior walls that reflect the surrounding forest, paired with floor-to-ceiling interior windows that pull the mountain view inside. They are among the most photographed accommodations in the region.

HOTEL AMENITIES, RENTAL PRIVACY
Daily housekeeping, keyless entry, fitness center, infrared sauna, outdoor sauna, movie theatre, and billiards room — all included. You get the convenience and service of a luxury hotel with the autonomy and space of a private rental.

LOCATION
3 minutes to Windham Mountain ski resort, walking distance to the Windham Path trail, minutes to Windham Country Club, and approximately 2.5 hours from NYC.
