With 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, a covered barbeque area and cantina bar, a large fenced-in yard, and an easy walk to the Jamaica Beach access point— The Poolside Paradise is your family’s perfect home-away-from-home on the Texas coast.



● WINTER TEXAN RATE: Escape to the Texas Gulf Coast this winter! Ask about our reduced monthly rates October 1 - March 1.



● Location: Jamaica Beach community of Galveston, Texas



● Beach Access: Less than a two-minute drive from the Jamaica Beach access point. Cars and golf carts are allowed to park on the beach.



● Private Pool: This home features a large, in-ground pool that ranges from 4 ft to 6ft deep.



● Community Amenities: Guests have access to the Jamaica Beach community pool for a fee — open Memorial Day - Labor Day — and city park.



● Rent BeachBox: Beach gear rentals are available! Ask us for details and rates.



● WIFI/Cable: We provide free high-speed WIFI and Roku with access to Sling TV for live television channels. Guests are welcome to log into their own streaming service apps.



● Pet Policy: 3 pets are allowed with a $25 fee per pet. Please keep pets off furniture, clean up after them outside, and crate them if left alone indoors.



● Parking: We can fit up to 5 cars in the driveway.

I would stay here again. The bunk room is not spacious and since not connected to house it really didn’t work for my group. There were so many flies in the bunk room - my ladies wouldn’t stay in there. My group didn’t like that there was no place in living area to set you drink - like end table or coffee table. There were 8 of us - so we all stayed in the main part of the house.

We had a rough start. We turned on the oven and it began emitting fumes that filled the house. We came to realize the oven had been sprayed to be cleaned but the cleaning crew forgot to burn it off and wipe it out. So we had to air out the house and clean out the oven to be able to use it. So dinner was served at about 10:30pm that night after 2.5 hours of unexpected oven cleaning and house airing. The Beach Box maintenance company sent a maintenance person the next day but that was really useless at that point. I did tell him the one and only smoke detector didn’t work because it never went off and it definitely should have. He said he’d be back to replace it and he never returned. He did screw the dishwasher in so it wouldn’t be falling out of the kitchen cabinet. The fridge was new and worked fine. I’ve requested a refund on my cleaning fee but beach box says they’ll ask the host and never replies. The bunk room is a fun addition for our teens to enjoy but it did have a weird smell & a window ac unit. The layout of the house was strange and unexpected as the bunk room is not connected to the rest of the house. It’s an old converted garage and the door to it is under the house then there are two separate staircases. One leads to the master bedroom and the other to the dining room. There was an elevator but it wasn’t available which was unfortunate for us. The pool was fine and nice to have but we could tell the PH was high. Homeowner:Fire Beach Box and we would come back.

Everything was as described in the listing. The cleaning ladies were still there after check in time which would have been fine but they weren't happy that I sat in my vehicle until they were done.

We were told before reserving the property that there were internal stairs connecting the lower bunk room to the upper floor. When we arrived, we found this is absolutely not true. Huge safety concern for us, we were not comfortable having all the kids sleep down there so we had to make changes to sleeping arrangements. The lower bunk room should not be a bedroom anyway. It smells unpleasant, there were roaches and the floor was rusted. Foosball table was missing most of the handles and parts were zip tied on. Pictures are very misleading. The pool is the best thing about this house. Master bathroom was ridiculously small. Bottom line, would I rent or recommend this house as it is now? No, I would not! Also the driveway looks a lot bigger in pics.Only pros is that the check in was easy, quick response back, and upstairs was clean.

DO NOT rent this home. This home is unsafe for all, but particularly for children, and the bottom portion of the home is uninhabitable. During our stay, we found many, many safety issues, such as: electrical outlets with missing or broken covers with exposed, live electrical wires, and loose railings and spindles on the outside stairs. But the worst part was the fact that we had to have the local fire department out during our stay because in the downstairs portion of the home the water heater was imporperly vented and there was a carbon monoxide exposure risk. Also the sewer vent was exposed in the bathroomand was emitting sewer gas. This rendered the dowstairs uninhabitable. The house is also run down, dirty, and definitely not "well-equipped" as stated. The pictures are definitely not accurate!Also, this home is listed as having a private pool, however, when we arrived on the first day, the pool was sparkling clean and we were just ready to get in. Then, the pool company showed up to maintenance the pool, which we were happy to let them do per our rental agreement. Unfortunately, he shocked it, which renders the pool unusable for at least 24 hours. Well, come to find out he put so much chlorine in the pool that the pool was at four times the chlorine level that is safe to swim in, as tested by us and the pool company the next day. The pool was unsafe to swim in our entire stay. We tried to inform the rental company of all of this and they couldn't have cared less.

Poor appliances throughout and rude host

We Reported the refrigerator was not working and dishwasher was not bolted in under the counter. I was told to just wait 24 hrs for it to start to cool. And that the dishwasher was fine. There was a mini refrigerator in the dining area that only cooled some on the top portion, hours later, but dripped. Looked to be froze up. After numerous email messages a day in a half later a maintenance man shows up and brings another old mini refrigerator to replace the other mini. He stated they have a refrigerator on order, (so they rented this home knowing there were problems). This was in the evening of the second night and we were to check out that next morning by 11:00. We had to go buy ice to try to keep our meat, milk, eggs, dips, etc. cold and had to toss out groceries. The Host just kept arguing with me. I asked to speak with the owner and she never responded. The pictures are not what the house represents. Downstairs has a window AC and the room stays damp. The washer and dryer are in this area. The dryer sounded like a rocket going off. They should not rent this home until these concerns are up to working order. Im requesting compensation on my groceries
