Great location!

We had the best Thanksgiving week in this home! Plenty of room for our family of 6 (3 adults and 3 kids). Great location to the beach. Well equipped kitchen, and beginner set of toiletries a nice touch. Due to the cold weather, we didn’t use the back porch much, but would be wonderful in warmer weather. Great communication with rental company. DI is a little slice of heaven!

We enjoyed this beautiful home and we picked it mainly for location and that it had 6 beds to accommodate our teens/children. We would definitely stay here again. They also had plenty of beach chairs and tubes to use. Well stocked with towels and just everything really! One of the best places we ever stayed at.

Cozy canal waterfront home!

Wonderful canal waterfront home that had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. Great setup for families with 2 bedrooms on each side of house with jack/jill bathroom between each. Cozy open living area and huge screened porch. Very close walking distance to beach. Dock was great for fishing and enjoyed extra beach chairs and beach wagon. Definitely would stay again and enjoyed being able to bring our pups too!

The Best of Both Worlds

This house was perfect for our group! We could swim and fish the canals or take a very short walk/ride to the beach. We spent tons of time on the screened back deck reading, relaxing, and enjoying our stay. When our teens caught fish, the cleaning station and grill were great! The sunsets were amazing from the back deck or the beach! The only possible suggestion I have is installment of a ladder at the pier to make kayaking and swimming a little easier. I highly recommend renting a golf cart during your stay. We loved touring the island from one end to the other! We made great memories here and definitely plan to come back!!

Great family week!

This beach house is very well furnished and has all you need for a great vacation. Just bring extra paper goods and trash bags which we did. The location is great as it is close to the gulf side and close to the sound side. We would happily rent it again. Owner is very nice and helpful! There were 8 of us and we all had beds plus extra.

Fun Family Weekend

Down Yonder is a very cute and cozy beachy cabin. It has all the amenties you need to enjoy a family get-away! It does have about 20 steps up so you can get your work out unloading your car. Then the fun can begin on the large screened in porch. There's an easy walk to the beach and the bay for sun tanning and fishing. Like most VRBO places be sure and bring all your paper goods, garbage bags, spices etc. There are beach chairs available and a nice grill.

Perfect For Families

This little gem was everything we hoped for. It was perfect to tie the boat up on a quiet canal. The property was perfect for the kids to play and they had so many extras for them to play with. There was plenty of room for two families and two boats. We definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking for a quiet spot on the island for their family.

Walk to Beach

The house was perfect for our family of 3 kids plus my brother in law and his two kids. The screened in porch was ideal and we could walk to the beach without having to pack our whole lives to do it! Dauphin Island has waves or calm beaches, wooded walking trails, and an aquarium, which were all wonderful.

Great Location

Everything about our stay was wonderful. The property is well-cared-for and is a very convenient walk from the beach. The kitchen was truly well-equipped. We cook all our meals while on vacation due to some severe food allergies. Everything we needed and more was available at the property. We were so pleased. ~~~~~ This was my first time ever staying in a home up on pylons. Two in our group got motion sickness from the movement of the house during a storm. I would absolutely stay here again. The movement was very slight and we always felt safe. The property was excellent. It just didn’t occur to me that could happen and I will add Dramamine or Bonine to my packing list for next time.

Beautiful Beaches

The only issue we had was more steps than expected. Very difficult for older person. Also pad lock battery died and we had coordinate outings with only one key as manager wasnt able to correct lock the last two days we were there.

July 4th Stay

We really enjoyed our stay and plan to rent the property again. We were 3 couples (related) with 3 kids between us. There was a bedroom for each couple and the kids loved the bunk room. The bedrooms are private. One is smaller than the others with limited storage. The bedrooms are not suites but share a 'Jack and Jill' style bathroom between the bedrooms with sliding doors. We rented a golf cart and never drove our car once on the island. Pros: 5 min from boat launch to house by boat Beach access is 100 feet away and you can see both the beach and the bay from the house. Well stocked kitchen/house--games, beach toys, chairs, grill....everything you would put in a beach home you own Great screened porch con: Really just the shared bathrooms if you are not close with the other occupants. The bathrooms are only accessible from the bedrooms.

Nice house

The house was nice and it was clean. You could see the canal from the sunroom and you could walk across the street to the beach. My only complaint was the bathroom doors. They are pocket doors that have a hook to latch them with and they did not shut/latch well. There are 2 bedrooms on each side of the house with a shared bathroom in the middle. There is 22 steps to get into the house which most houses are on stilts so you will have steps anywhere. Underneath the house was nice and cool with the breeze and kids were able to play in the sand under the house which was also nice. You could walk to the beach and see the beautiful sunrises and sunsets. We enjoyed our stay

We absolutely loved our stay! The house had great views of the water on both sides and the walking distance to the beach was great! My favorite part about this house though was the screened in back porch. It was very cozy and relaxing.
