The Ideal Family Getaway! We enjoyed our family reunion this fall! The property was gorgeous and we used every bit of it - the playground, the clean beaches, the stacked firewood, the stocked game closet. The place was even better than the photos seem and the combination of collective spaces- game rooms, large tables, lots of seating was a wonderful pair with spacious rooms with en suite bathrooms to recoup for another day! Only 10-15 minutes from town with a grocery store, restaurants, and fun activities. Hope to return next year! An absolutely wonderful stay!

Family vacation

Very impressive first impression. Beautiful home with many extra's. Our family loved the tea house and screened-in porch. Enjoyed the pickle ball court. Our family made so many good memories to take home with us and all said they would love to come back next summer! .

Family getaway

We had a wonderful weekend on Lake Sylvia.. we had seven adults and a one-year-old. The house was so delightfully roomy. Everyone had some private space including the baby. The lake is exceptionally clean. We did a lot of water skiing and wakeboarding. Didn’t catch any fish but minimum effort was put towards that. The kitchen was very well stocked. We had two dogs who had a marvelous time running around the spacious property. I highly recommend this property.

Amazing stay

Beautiful property! We were here for a small team retreat and had an amazing time. Were able to get work done with breaks for pickleball and paddleboarding, and there was enough space that everyone could have solo time as needed. The teahouse was a highlight - we even saw otters in the lake! Hope to come again.

Celebration of life/reunion

Look no further! This is a large, beautiful, well maintained and equipped house. It is on a large, nicely planted and manicured lot. It is like having your own resort. Angie is very understanding and responsive to any questions. The owners have done a wonderful job of keeping the house updated and supplied with many outdoor and indoor entertainment options. Quiet getaway

We stayed at Lake Sylvia for a few nights to celebrate my parents 50th anniversary. It was the perfect location for my family to gather and spend quality time together. The property is absolutely gorgeous with lots of space to roam. We enjoyed sitting on the deck, playing pickle ball, relaxing in the pagoda to watch the sunset, and even got to take out the water toys for a bit. The house had plenty of room with 5 large bedrooms and we loved the garage rec room for ping pong matches while it rained. The house was immaculately clean and stocked better than any other rental property I’ve stayed in. We brought extra kitchen supplies but ended up not needing it. I highly recommend this property. It’s stunning and the location is beautiful.

Beautiful and fun!

We loved our stay at Shadowlands! The house is beautiful and private with a great view of the lake and surrounding natural areas. There’s no shortage of fun things to do - game room, movie room, snowshoeing and fishing on the lake, etc. We loved the fenced-in area for the dogs and had no problem finding enough space for everyone to sleep comfortably. This place is a find!

Family reunion for Thanksgiving

This home was the perfect gathering spot for three generations of our family as we got together from Colorado, Wisconsin, and Minnesota to celebrate Thanksgiving. The property was spotlessly clean and decorated and appointed to a very high level of finishes. There was plenty of room for all of us to spread out and never feel cramped. We would definitely return, ideally during the summer when we could enjoy all of the lakeside activities. Thank you to Angie and her team. We can only think of good things to say.

Classy, clean, perfect lay-out, well equipped, stunningly beautiful

The pictures don’t fully do this lake house justice. It’s even prettier in real life! The view of the lake and the lush surroundings are stunning from the decks, the living room, the dining room and also from every bedroom. The kitchen is clean, modern and well equipped. The furnishings, art, lighting and fabrics classy and beautiful. The split level lay-out is perfect, with the 5 bedrooms far enough apart (on three levels) to make each bedroom feel private. There are many different areas to lounge so even with a large group like ours, there was enough space to have different activities going on at house at the same time. We loved gathering around the fire on the beach, fishing and exploring by kayak and paddle boat, reading and relaxing in the Japanese tea house on the water—everybody in our group loved every minute at this beautiful lake house. It was perfect!

Great escape for family vacation!

We had a great time! Host was very accommodating and helpful. Gorgeous home and property with so much to do for everyone in our group, comfortable beds/sleeping, central gathering spaces for meals and puzzles/games, large kitchen and beautiful outside spaces.

Amazing experience!

This is such a beautiful property- the photos don’t do it justice! Amazing space for a large group with plenty of gathering spaces and lots of room for privacy as well. We enjoyed the large deck and outdoor space including the pickle ball court. Property managers were wonderful to work with and always available. This home is clean and very well maintained. I honestly can’t say enough nice things about this home- our favorite VRBO to date. We hope to come back soon! Highly recommend for adults and little ones alike.

Winter Cabin Family Getaway

Our family had the BEST time at Shadowlands on Lake Sylvia! Our parents had always wanted to host a winter cabin week but due to extenuating circumstances they were unable so my siblings and I decided to bring it to them. This beautiful home did not disappoint! Just a short drive for all of us and in a beautiful, quiet and secluded area we enjoyed outdoor walks with our pups, game nights, movie nights, and a fully stocked kitchen and bar that accommodated our needs. We made memories and had so many laughs along with beautiful winter sunsets and sunrises. The playroom/game room was a huge bonus with darts, bags and ping pong! Bedrooms, bathrooms and gathering spaces were clean, warm and inviting! The upstairs loft/nook and sitting areas in the bedrooms were great spaces for doing puzzles, reading, and just having quiet time when needed. The fenced in area for the pups was AWESOME on the cold evenings when we needed to let them out (quickly & safely) and the yard was huge so they could run and play. The host, Angie, was quick to answer all our questions and patient when I had MORE questions. 😊 We will definitely be back!

Winter Reunion

Winter Reunion. We have family in Texas and Mississippi and Minnesota and we love to get together each Christmas. This year or Mississippi family tested positive for Covid at the very last minute but the rest of us came and had a wonderful time at this beautiful and amazing home. We hope to have our Mississippi family with us next year and do a re-run next Christmas. The home is beautiful the outside is amazing and it was a lovely lovely stay!

Perfect Weekend to Reconnect

Idyllic environment

The house and grounds were tranquil and especially well equipped. The tea house was an unexpected bonus, and the orchards were in bloom. We left with great memories and would love to come back.

Great family time!

The property has something for everyone! We enjoyed the game rooms, the Pickleball Court, the outdoor space (a little cool for water activities), movie night and quiet time. There was nothing missing! We will be back!

Quick break from the Twin Cities

The property was well appointed and very comfortable. Angie, the property manager was excellent and very accommodating. Very responsive, courteous on the phone, and helpful with lots of local knowledge (especially when a winter storm threatened the power one evening). We will absolutely be looking to stay here again in the future.
