Excellent stay

The property was well kept and the condo has everything you need. Decent appliances and all the utensils you need. The pool was very nice. Easy check in and out. Beautiful views from the condo and the property. Close to very nice beaches.

Fantastic Ocean Front Condo with Perfect Layout

This condo has a gorgeous view and the perfect layout to accomodate a family with plenty of space and privacy for everyone. Kahana Sunset is a great property and this unit is a prime location in the complex so you hear the ocean waves (instead of the road, as you do in other units here). It's very well stocked with amenities upon arrival and is super clean. Another review mentions a musty smell so I was a bit nervous but that was not our experience at all - it was clean and delightfully breezy as soon as we opened the doors and windows upon arrival to get that fresh ocean breeze. Beds were extremely comfy (and I am picky about beds!) Additionally, AC is hard to find in the low density complexes on West Maui so that was a nice luxury as well. Highly recommend and we will definitely pick this unit to stay again!

Unhappy with some of condos areas

Condo was not clean. Smelled musty, termite dropping upstairs and kitchen. Patios very dirty leave and debris . Flying termites in bathroom upstate’s ocean view. The master bedroom had a topper that didn’t fit the mattress and the fitted sheet kept coming off.

Stunning Stay!!

We were in B10 and the views of the sunset were just beautiful!! The condo was clean and well kept. Everything functioned and it was just lovely! We will definitely stay here again!! The little beach on the property was perfect for our group of teenagers to have a blast on!! We would make dinner and have it on the community patio and watch the sunset and check out the sea life. My sisters stayed in B4 and my niece and her family stayed in C5 and they were all great!! It was a wonderful family trip!!

Pretty Wonderful!

We had a great stay here! It was easy to find and smelled so clean and fresh when we walked it! Kitchen is good size for a family and has a very large peninsula counter top with bar stool eating. Maybe not great for folks with babies but worked really well for us! 2 balconies that look out onto the private beach, clean and comfy beds... what more could you aske for! We had a great stay!

Kahana Sunset B10

Unit is perfect size for our family of 5, home away from home. Super clean with all the appliances we needed. Even had beach chairs and umbrella provided for beach hopping. Wonderful view of bay and gorgeous sunsets. Perfect pool lounging and beach area for kiddos. We so enjoyed this hidden gem location so near all our west side favorite spots from Lahaina to Kapalua. Highly recommend!

Overall we enjoyed the location and the grounds as well as the relative seclusion of the Kahana Sunset condos compared to other condo complexes on Maui. This was our second stay at Kahana Sunset. It is our observation that the condos are showing their age regarding the furniture and bedding. The one issue we had on this trip was that the oven did not work. We checked in on Saturday evening and notified iTrips on Sunday. On Sunday a maintenance person came and checked out the oven and confirmed the issue and scheduled an appliance repair person to visit on Monday. The repair person showed up on Monday and found the control panel needed to be replaced. After this visit we never heard a word about the status of the oven repair from iTrips. Unfortunately, we had planned several meals requiring use of the oven. There were a number of minor issues with the condo that should have been reported to iTrips by cleaning crew prior to renters showing up such as: - light bulbs in need of replacing - exhaust in upstairs bathroom did not work - loose kitchen faucet (was repaired by maintenance on Sunday) - a broom with no dustpan - shower in upstairs front bathroom very slippery could be a fall risk needs traction on the floor or a mat You shouldn't rely on renters to inform you of needed repairs/maintenance.

Nice, but some issues

This specific condo was nice, but had some issues. The first issue we ran in to was that the door entry key pad stopped working. It was early Sunday evening when we called to have it fixed, as we had plans to leave the condo for our nighttime plans. We called several numbers and left voicemails, but no one returned our calls. We finally called the numbers on the door, and were able to speak to the maintenance man, who wanted to help us and felt bad that no one returned our calls. He actually called us back twice to follow up and see if anyone contacted us, (which they didn't), and then called back to tell us that he was able to get through and that they said it wasn't an "emergency situation" and that was why they didn't return our calls. We essentially were held hostage in our condo, and couldn't leave because we had no way of getting back in if we left. To us, that was unacceptable!! The maintenance guy came by the next morning, but basically said it would be fixed after we leave, and we shouldn't have any problems getting back in upon our return. (Not sure why they wouldn't just fix the issue while we were there)?? The condo was spacious enough for us and clean except for the carpet leading to the second floor. It was dirty and not vacuumed in the corners or sides of the carpet throughout, which was unpleasant, as you could see all of the accumulated dirt gathered there. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, except for the pans. All of the pans were very small, and would only allow cooking in small quantities, which forced us to eat in shifts instead of all together. There was only enough seating at the counter island for 4, and the other seats were located on the lanai, which was fine when it wasn't raining. The stove looked newer at first glance, but when you go to use it, you cannot see or even read any of the burner information on the panel. The oven/broiler worked sporadically at first, but then completely stopped working, and we were not able to even use it any longer. We didn't bother to even call about it, as the issue with the key code for the door issue wasn't even handled properly, we were certain they weren't going to do anything about the stove either. The first floor bathroom was spacious and clean. The bathroom off of the master bedroom (with ocean view) was another story. Cramped and tight is an understatement. The shower door had caulk pieces that were falling off and dragging as you open and close the shower door, as well as it did nothing to prevent a pool of water from pouring out of the shower onto the bathroom floor anytime you did shower. There were plenty of toiletries and towels for both bathrooms, which was a nice surprise. They also had 3 beach towels to use while there. The master bedroom was spacious (some of that wasted space could have been better used for that tiny bathroom) and the bed was comfortable. The air conditioning was nice as well, which helped with my husbands asthma issues. The lanai was also nice. The washer and dryer were handy to have in the condo, however, the washer basin was small, so many loads had to be done in order to wash our clothes. The dryer was annoying to use, as it took 3-5 times longer than the washer to even dry the clothes. Needless to say, an upgrade there should be done. The second bedroom was cramped and the layout was weird. The bathroom was much larger than the other. The vanity drawer had some sort of liquid residue left in it from a previous user, and it was never cleaned up. The beds were comfortable in that room. The exterior of the condos was nicely kept, however the parking was quite cramped at times. The beach area was unusable for the first 3 days, as the tide was quite rough and would break on the walls surrounding the beach frontage. When the tide was behaving, the beach area was very nice. The common use grills did have some issues with burners being out on some, so it took a little longer to grill our food, and there could be a couple more added to help out when the grill area became crowed with other guests wanting to cook too. The pool area was nice, however it was supposed to be "heated" and it certainly didn't feel that way. Overall, I wish there would have been a more kid friendly area(s) so make it more fun for the kiddos that couldn't go into the ocean or pool during certain times of the day / night. Overall, it was nice, but we will be looking at other properties when we come back.

I really don't want the secret to get out that Kahana Sunset is so wonderful TBH but it is! Our family of 5 (all adults) had the most amazing holiday (including an engagement:) and B10 was the perfect location for us. It had everything we needed (no boogie boards in the unit, but the very friendly and helpful maintenance crew set us up with some loaners). We BBQ'd some nights and had everything we needed in the unit to facilitate cooking delicious dinners, and making cocktails. Agreed the carpets are tired, but no big deal, the AC worked great, the beds were comfy and we didn't notice any bad smell in the condo. The views from the property are gorgeous, the gardens are beautiful and really, really appreciated the filtered water machine by the pool (such a small thing but so handy). We saw many turtles and a few nights they came right up onto the beach. Everyone was so friendly there and no "saving" loungers to speak of, never had any trouble finding a spot to relax. Can't wait to go back! Mahalo for the best Christmas x

Kahana Sunset Family Stay

Overall the facility was very good. Great staff, clean rooms and site. The only disappointment was the beach has mostly washed away. The resort is planning on addressing this so future stays should be even better.

Katana Sunset, Unit B10

We loved our stay in this unit. It was clean and had a beautiful view of the beach and grounds. The pool was well maintained and had plenty of lounge chairs. The unit had plenty of glassware and dishes for our use and even plastic cups to take to the pool. Thank you for making our stay very enjoyable.

Maui family vacation one HUGE problem

This property is a nice little condo. The location is perfect have your own cove perfect for snorkeling with lots of turtles that are in the cove. The complex is quite and the set up is nice location was perfect. The HUGE problem with this condo is as soon as we got there I started to see roaches in the kitchen. After inspection more they were all over the place. There is an infestation throughout the condo. They were in the kitchen the restroom and seen one in the bedroom. I contacted the rental people and all they offered is to come by and give us roach traps and spray. If there was not any roaches in the condo I would have given this place a great review as it had everything we were looking for.

Beautiful View, Well Stocked, Needs a little Attention

Pros: Amazing View of the Beach/Water Quiet and Peaceful-Sound of the water at night was wonderful Very well stocked with towels, kitchen items, beach gear Great for a Family of 5, all kids had their own bed, good drawer and closet space. Air Conditioning and fans-very comfortable Good starter set of dish detergent, laundry pods, dryer sheets, shampoo, trash bags, paper towels, etc... Very close to parking area-easy to get things in and out of the condo, always plenty of parking available when we were there. Great outdoor spaces to eat and relax, could use one or two more chairs since it can fit 6 people. Pool and public areas are nice and well taken care of. When the waves were calm, the little beach was perfect to be on. Napili Market is so close and you can get anything you need there. The AA roots next door has fabulous Acai bowls. They have thought of everything in the kitchen, one of the most well stocked kitchens I've stayed in. Great place to stay if worried about covid transmission as it is not crowded at the pool or beach. Plenty of space to spread out and easy to cook your own meals with all the items in the kitchen. Cons: Could really use a good deep clean and minor repairs including carpet cleaning. Shower has soap scum, floors and walls look dirty. It has so much potential to be really nice, but floors and walls and carpet need some attention. Wouldn't take much to really improve upon this and make it so much nicer. There is a musty smell that I can't put my finger on, we bought some air freshener and sprayed it around every time we came back. We've been back 5 days and my son just brought me his sweatshirt and says "it smells like the condo". We got used to it, but people who are sensitive might be very bothered. Washing machine is really loud (Mr. Mom loud) and buzzers to end cycle are also very loud. TVs were really hard to figure out, we ended up figuring out two, but not the one in the kids room Overall, we really enjoyed our stay, the condo, and the location. I don't know if I would stay again unless I knew more attention was paid to a deep cleaning, but it was a great experience overall.

Such a wonderful stay!

The condo and complex provides everything you need for a great vacation. The cove offers a beautiful sandy beach with easy entrance into the ocean where you can see fish and swim with sea turtles! At high tide you can watch several turtles feeding in the cove. There are plenty of chaise lounges on the lush grass and garden area for enjoying the sun. The covered patio overlooking the cove offers a great escape from the sun and still provides a beautiful view of the cove. The condo provides all the essentials in the kitchen and bathrooms. The bedroom area of the condo is an open design which doesn't offer any sound or light privacy between the 2 bedrooms. If staying in the smaller bedroom, bring earplugs. You can easily hear voices and when the wind blows, it sounds like a passing hurricane. This is a great place to relax and get away!

Fun family getaway

We really enjoyed all of the outdoor aspects of Kahana Sunset. The grounds are well kept and we appreciated the pool and many grills. We enjoyed the private beach a lot--especially since our condo had four boogie boards on the porch for us to use. The condo could use some updating/upkeep. The carpet was fairly stained as was one of the comforters. Also, our condo smelled very musty and the refrigerator smelled like dead fish when we arrived. Otherwise, the accommodations were just what we needed--complete with a blender for our daily pina coladas :)

Kahana Sunset

This was our 3rd time to stay at Kahana Sunset and first time in B Building. We typically try to stay in F Building but it was closed. Kahana is a hidden gem - condos are a tad older but how much are you actually in your condo? We love that these condos are so quiet and peaceful and no scrambling for chairs or beach. The view is awesome. We enjoy snorkeling the reef there at the condos and watching the turtles. B10 was a great condo - only suggestion would be to check the kitchen faucet as we had no water pressure. Outside of that it was great as always!

Another great stay in B10

Perfect place in a perfect location. This place was very well set up for a great vacation for our family of 5. Every year we try our best to find a better place but have ended up back at Kahana Sunset 4 years in a row (twice in B10). And this unit has one of the best views of all of them. Add to that a well set up kitchen and you have a recipe for a great vacation. We hope to come back next year.

Beautiful condo and very well equipped

This entire property is gorgeous and best place we’ve ever stayed in Maui. The well manicured grounds overlooking the the private cove and hearing the waves crash at night is paradise. The unit is clean, comfortable and well stocked with everything needed to cook. They even stocked the fridge with waters and the living room cabinets had tons of games and puzzles for entertainment. We never quite got how to work the TVs but that’s OK because we never really needed to use them. Also the parking lot facing bedroom was noisy so my son preferred sleeping on the sofa bed to hear the waves instead. Overall we loved this place and highly recommend it.

Cleanliness of property The property where the condo is, is beautiful. The maintenance team does and amazing job. The grills were spotless, as they are out there every day cleaning them. The condo was clean. Some paint refreshing is in order. Check-in process The check-in process couldn't have been easier, which was great. Accuracy of on line listing I would say the on line listing was pretty much accurate. Communication with property manager This process could improve. Before we even got there, I emailed them to see if they had any recommendations for a whale watching company and never heard back from anyone. That was kind of a yellow flag. I didn't have to contact them, until a couple of days before we were to check out. First of all, could never get an actual person. Left a message and didn't receive a timely response, so I called them again, left a message, and then someone called me back. Location and Neighborhood We found that the location was not ideal for us. The property sits on a very narrow road that doesn't have any sidewalks, so is not conducive for walks, due to always making sure you weren't going to get run over by a car coming around the curve. Overall rating is three stars. It's not a bad place, just wasn't right for us. We had our son and his fiance with us and they compared it to the geriatric condos. Also, getting a hold of someone was not the greatest. If you want to be within walking distance to bars and restaurants (more than what's at the nearby little shopping center), our suggestion is to stay somewhere more southeast. Near Kaanapali.
