Escape to a cozy cabin in Frog Pond NC for a pleasant retreat. This 3-bedroom cabin offers a variety of sleeping arrangements, including a bunk bed (twin over a full bed), queen bed, and king bed. With amenities like a fully equipped kitchen, washer/dryer combo, iron and ironing board, electric fireplace, outside fire pit, gas grill and WiFi, where guests can relax and unwind. The 2 bathrooms feature showers and hair dryers for added convenience. Enjoy Big Bear Creek for swimming, fishing, or even panning for gold when you stay at our place. Nearby attractions include Stanly County Livestock Arena, Morrow Mountain State Park, Lake Tillery, Reeds Gold Mine, Uwharrie National Forest, and several local wineries. Short distance attractions include Carowinds, PNC Music Pavilion, Charlotte Motor Speedway, Quail Hollow Golf Course and Charlotte Douglas Airport.

We’re so glad you’re here!
We are Andy and BJ Barbee. After retiring, we chose to move back to Stanly County to invest in the next generation—and that mission is at the heart of everything we do.
Our Vrbo property is part of a larger vision called The Vineyard at Big Bear Creek, LLC, a 33-acre property that includes a managed tree farm, a muscadine grape vineyard, and plans for a future events and wedding venue.
More than just a beautiful getaway, this place is rooted in purpose. Our mission is simple yet powerful:
“Helping kids and young adults realize that it CAN be done!
Basic Steps: Curiosity to Question, Courage to Learn, and Confidence to Achieve.”
Once complete, our events venue will host a variety of youth-focused programs such as:
Summer Drama Camp – promoting teamwork and public speaking
Academic Tutoring – supporting excellence in education
Ask the Pros – seminars led by local tradespeople
Basic Financial Acumen – teaching the foundations of smart money habits
Through these programs, we hope to provide the building blocks for young people to lead confident, capable, and meaningful lives.
