This was a five-star experience overall! The unit had stunning sunset views of the Pacific, direct access to a sparsely crowded beach with the water about 50 yards from the property, and an extremely attentive host! We would not hesitate coming back to this facility again. We would also like to address some of the rumors we heard leading up to our stay about the general area, and offer our first-hand experiences and observations. There is a significant homeless presence along the west coast on just about every beach - but it's mainly the public beach parks to the south of the unit that are crowded with tents and other temporary shelters. While there were a handful of folks sheltering on the rocks on the south end of this beach, we never experienced any issues whatsoever or felt uneasy. There was no one actually camped on the beach or causing any issued with the guests at any time that we were aware of.General safety was of no concern. We read about this being an area where you must be vigilant and careful, so we did have some minor reservations leading up to the trip. The parking lot was secured with an electronic gate, there was a security guard on property 24/7, and both the elevators and access gates to the beach were secured with an electronic key. This is not a "touristy" area, so going out definitely mixes you with the residents of the area, some of which aren't fond of tourists. As long as you're contentious of that and respectful, you should have no issues.
