Unexpectedly wonderful

When we first saw this 16 story older condominium high rise it wasn’t what we had expected, but it grew on us. Folks there seemed like a community, it was safe and the beach was fun, even though a lot of wave action. It was great to be away from the touristy side of Oahu and get a glimpse of a more real mixed neighborhood. The homeless encampments on other nearby beaches were hard to see, especially when one doesn’t know how to help best, but it was wonderful to enjoy other beaches where Hawaiian kids were learning to paddle outriggers and embrace Hawaiian culture. Would definitely recommend Paradise for a relaxing, low-key, not luxurious and yet unforgettable experience.

Hawaiian Princess

Beautifully located on the Wainaea coast, you have access to quiet beaches, services, and wonderful scenery. My wife and I like to go for beach walks, hikes, and local shopping. You are within walking distance to many things, easy drives of less than 10 minutes to others. If you are looking for a quiet get-away and far enough, but still close enough to Honolulu, this is the place for you. 3rd floor lanai makes it a perfect view of the ocean and nearby hills. Snorkeling and swimming are made easy, and there is a tennis court that is also used for Pickleball.

The location and beach were the best. The condo was great and exactly as advertised. The owners were very helpful and responsive. We throughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider this property for future visits to Oahu.

West side, best side

Loved this condo so much! Definitely a chill environment. The views sunset and beach were awesome! Just up the road or lots of great surfing beaches, and other beautiful fun places to hang out. This condo is not for party. It’s definitely a cozy, safe place to stay cook a good meal and get a good nights, sleep and lounge on the beach. Definitely getting groceries and planning on cooking delicious meals at home because it’s a bit of a food dessert. There are lots of yummy snacks in the area, loca Kalo Bomb and poke from Market and a few plate, lunches and fast food but otherwise, I would definitely plan on cooking your own meals at home. I love with my whole heart the west side. Mitch and his family were super communicative and helpful.

Relaxing and peaceful

This unit was just right for me and a friend. Amazing sunsets. Direct access to a sparsely populated beach. Beautiful turquoise waters. All the amenities we needed, both in the unit and for beach and pool activities. Grocery store relatively nearby. Limited restaurant options but what we did have was good, and we preferred to cook anyway. Perfect temperature in the unit, and the sound of the surf at night. Would definitely return!

Makaha beach and wainea

Beach and view fantastic. Snorkeling right off shore and good boogie board and wave jumping when surf was up. Condo had all beach items and bbq area was clean and good location with picnic type setting. Owner was very receptive to questions. Now for the flipside that is mostly related to the miles of beach encampment. We knew there would be homeless but miles and miles on beautiful beaches made any return a nogo. There were numerous encampments within shouting distance of our lanai. The local town , for the most part has nothing to offer except a friendly local grocery with good selection and prices. The condo owner cant be faulted for the political nightmare in west oahu, it is a sad situation. Security was good at the condo, which was a plus but the local town is overrun with homeless. A few suggestions for the owner that they can control- upgrade linens and towels, bar height lanai furniture to see over rail.. .very beautiful beach and sunsets. Overall stocking of condo was good and the owner wa very receptive. So much potential for the nearby area but no one will invest any $$$ until the homeless situation is taken care of.

Perfect for Us!

Coming up to the property, the neighborhood had us questioning our decision to book this spot. Once we were in the room and snorkeled off the beach, all doubts disappeared. The condo was perfect. Swimming right out, I had the most gorgeous snorkeling experience. Absolutely incredible variety of vibrant fish, eels, and even sea turtles. Worth it for this experience alone! Had a little trouble with the washer/dryer, but Mitch was great and communication was excellent also. We were in want of nothing at all. The best place we stayed!

Great place to stay

The property is very nice. The owner are amazing and great communicators. Always prompt to return text and emails. The condo is very clean and everything worked. great water pressure in shower and great hot water! We stayed in August so the lack of central air-conditioning took a few days to get use to in the afternoons. Trade winds are nice in the morning and evening but plan to be out and about during the late afternoon as it gets hot, particularly if you are cooking in the kitchen. Would definitely stay here again.

Awesome location!

Somewhat dated but comfortable. The entryway to the units looks like something else use to be there. Perhaps they are in transition. All in all we really enjoyed ourselves!

Great Beach Condominium

This is a one bedroom condo facing an awesome beach. The unit has everything you need. A well equipped kitchen, Beach chairs, towels etc. The best part is the beach. The view from the balcony is even better than the photos. We had a great week. Everything the owners and reviewers say is about right. Great rental. Very quiet area. The owners were very easy to deal with.

On the beach!

Perfect Hawaiian vacation property, literally on a beautiful beach with all the amenities we needed and great communications from start to finish with the hosts who went the extra mile before and during our stay. Loved going to sleep each night to the sound of the surf, sitting on the balcony enjoying looking out on the waves, and taking the beach chairs and umbrella downstairs the few steps to the beach and surf. The pool and hot tub were appreciated as well. The property felt extra- secure and the beach felt safe and friendly. Dad enjoyed swimming and snorkeling daily and saw sea turtles and tropical fish on the days the sea was calmer; our teen really enjoyed the big waves for boogie boarding and mom who didn't like the bigger winter waves especially appreciated the option of the pool for taking her dips between reading on the beach. Hosts were great communicating before the trip about possibility of a school friend of our son joining us (which unfortunately didn't work out) and even receiving our son's driver's license that we forgot to pack and getting that to us after we arrived. Internet, two TV's, working laundry machines, full kitchen were appreciated amenities. Great stay--we hope to be back!

We could live here!

I apologize, we took this trip almost a year ago (in February). This was one of the best vacations we've been on! The property was exactly as described and we couldn't have been happier! There were a few mix-ups (on our part) and had to contact the hosts several times. They always got back to us a quickly with answers to our questions and were a great help! The condo was spacious, clean and provided everything we needed. The kitchen was fully stocked with the cooking items to prepare food, we ate in most meals. Being located right on the beach, the view was fabulous, and we spent countless hours on the lanai. The only two downsides for us was, first, the first few days the ocean was pretty choppy, (I am sure this was because of the time of year) but by mid week we were swimming and snorkeling with sea turtles right right in front of the condo! Once the water settled down, it was crystal clear. We walked the beach everyday. Second, the area surrounding the condo had neighborhoods that were a bit run down, but we always felt safe! We walked for several miles from the condo, in both directions and were fine. A rental car is definitely needed if you plan to see the sites of Oahu, but it was more important for us to be away from the busy areas and enjoy the beauty and quiet of the island where we were located! We would definitely return and stay in this same property! Aloha!

Great. Getaway from city life

This is a great place for people looking to get away from the city. The beach is long and clean and beautiful and NOT crowded. It is a bay so somewhat protected but there can be a lot of wind and waves. We did some snorkeling and saw plenty of turtles and other fish. Apartment was clean and very well stocked. Nice that we didn’t have to buy some essentials like oil and salt. Owners were attentive and checked that we had all we needed. Bed very comfortable. Shower was quite good. Other people in the building were friendly and helpful. Wish there was a recycling program here but didn’t see any. Wish the neighborhood had more of an interest to offer. The nearest public beach has a lot of homeless encampments. Overall, it was a great accommodation.

Lovely End to Our Honeymoon

We enjoyed our final Honeymoon days in the condo with such a breathtaking view! We found Makaha to be a relatively good location to where we needed to go, as long as you avoid rush hours. I do feel I need to mention, but at no fault of the owners, the the homeless population is high and we did feel a bit unsafe in the area at times. However, the gated parking lot and high security measures did help to make us feel more comfortable. The AC is not an issue at all, and the cross breeze and in-condo fans were more than enough to keep us cool. The owners were very easy to communicate with and quite thorough regarding check in/out info as well.

Sand, Sun, and Sunsets

If you’re looking for the ultimate relaxing vacation on the beach…this is the property for you! The palm trees and ocean are your backyard! The sunsets from the lanai were gorgeous! Some perks to love: the gated parking, the friendly guests, the “private” beach, the sound of the ocean waves, beach chairs and umbrellas, snorkel gear and body boards to mention a few. The communication with the owners was amazing and they left detailed information for the trip and tourist attractions! You might get lucky and see a turtle or two!☀️🌴

Condo in paradise

Wonderful escape from the madness

My wife and I celebrated our ten year anniversary at this quaint condo in Makaha. The beach was wonderful as we spotted sea turtles and even a monk seal came close to shore to play. The condo was perfect for what we needed and was exactly how the ad describes. We were thankful for the communication from Pat and Don and appreciate them opening their condo to us.

Good stay overall, but that mattress 😭

We overall enjoyed our stay here. Cute little condo that had almost everything needed. There are a couple things to note. First, a lot of things in the condo are pretty dated and worn. We had several towels with rips or that were threadbare, one of the barstools is unusable because of how wobbly it is, and the mattress is a old style spring mattress that’s truly the most uncomfortable mattress we’ve ever slept on. We woke up with back pain every single morning of our stay because of it. Overall, we did enjoy our stay. The location was nice, we got to snorkel with turtles on multiple days right there outside of the condo, the fact that there is free parking is such a luxury on the island, but there were some definite drawbacks to this particular condo that impacted the comfort of our trip.

Amazing, quiet, beachfront vacation! Unbeatable views!

My wife and I stayed at this property for a week late March through early April. Of all of our couples getaways, this was by far the most memorable and breathtaking experience. As shared in the description, the ocean view is beyond amazing. The white sandy beach is situated in between two dark mountains. The water is crystal blue. We walked the beach daily, and swam a few feet away from sea turtles. As listed in the posting, this is a quiet beach in “old” Hawaii. We preferred to spend our day on the beach, cook our meals in the fully furnished kitchen, and eat on the lanai versus venturing out. While there is a grocery store a few blocks away, we chose to drive to Target in Kapolei and grab everything we needed for the week. It was far less expensive than the handful of items we needed to grab from the local store. There are also a couple of local restaurants. We dined twice at the location recommended by our hosts, and it was wonderful. We were also so grateful for the kindness of our hosts. They communicated every detail well in advance, and left detailed instructions throughout the condo on how to work the appliances, washer and dryer, internet, and TV. We also messaged our hosts after breaking an item, and not only did they respond right away, they asked that we not worry and enjoy our stay. We also loved the gated parking, and overall set up of the condo. The hosts accurately describe the air conditioning unit. It is not like AC on the mainland. However, we were more than comfortable with the trade winds, and did not need it. If you’re looking for restaurants, nightlife, and more of a tourist populated area, this is not your pick. If you’re looking for an unforgettable, breathtaking, swimmable beach with sea turtles, gorgeous patio to eat home cooked meals and watch sunsets, comfortable and clean condo… this is it. We would love to come back!
