Aspen Acres sleeps up to two adults. Aspen Acres is perfect for couples celebrating their honeymoon, anniversary, or just a couple’s getaway. Nestled in the heart of the Black Hills offering mountain charm and quality amenities including fully appointed kitchen, bathroom with walk-in shower, king bed, covered porch, WiFi, heat, Turkish towels, spa bathrobes, slippers, and much more. Located just a mile off of Highway 16, the lodging offers peace and tranquility as well as easy access to National Parks, major attractions, old west history and Native culture, wildlife, hiking, biking, fishing, and lakes.
Enjoy beautiful views, wildlife, star-studded skies, campfires, and miles of trails on the adjacent Black Hills National Forest.

This cabin at Aspen Acres was everything that we were looking for - close to all of the sights that we wanted to see and yet felt private and relaxing. The cabin and property were beautiful and exactly as portrayed. We enjoyed the serenity and the wildlife (bird's bunnies, deer) that would come visit. Our host's Todd and Cathy made the experience even more special with their thoughtful preparation, clear communication, and genuine care. They went above and beyond to make sure that we had everything that we needed and even met us on the road to ensure that we did not get lost on the day of arrival. The small personal touches including a welcome basket of goodies made us feel special. Thank you, Todd and Cathy for your kindness and generosity - you made our trip even more memorable! Jim and Julie are your hosts. We are blessed to have lived in the Black Hills for nearly 30 years. We raised our two sons (now grown) in the the area and together have enjoyed hiking, biking, swimming, boating, camping, fishing, hunting, rock climbing, skiing, snowshoeing, exploring, and so much more of what the Black Hills have to offer.
Jim and Julie have owned the property since 2014. The cabin was custom built in 2015.

Yak Ridge offers easy access to hiking, biking, and climbing opportunities. Access to the Mickelson Trail is only a few miles away. Yak Ridge is the perfect spot for a family vacation or a romantic getaway.
Location! Location! Location! Yak Ridge Cabins are ideally situated in a spectacular setting with easy access to the countless attractions and adventures the Black Hills have to offer. We offer easy access to the best of the Black Hills - Mt Rushmore / Keystone (5 miles); Hill City (10 minutes), Rapid City (20 minutes), Custer and Custer State Park (30 minutes), Jewell and Wind Cave National Parks (45 minutes) Deadwood and Spearfish (60 minutes), Badlands National Park (60 minutes), and Devil’s Tower National Monument (90 minutes).
We are grateful that we are healthy and can provide visitors to the Black Hills a location that provides space to enjoy the great outdoors. We want to let you know that we are deeply committed to the safety of all who spend time at Yak Ridge.
We have always prided ourselves in the cleanliness of our cabins as evident by our guest reviews and our commitment to meeting and exceeding South Dakota Department of Health requirements. To that end, and in light of the ongoing pandemic, our enhanced cleaning and sanitizing protocols align with the CDC. We continue to monitor CDC guidelines so that we can make adjustments to our protocols as needed.
The Yak Ridge website includes details that we hope will help you in deciding whether Yak Ridge will be a good fit for your vacation needs during COVID.
Individually wrapped sets of slippers, hand sanitizer, tissues, and sanitizing wipes as well as local travel information and maps are provided.
