Location! Location! Location! Yak Ridge Cabins are situated in a spectacular setting in the heart of the Black Hills with easy access to hundreds of Black Hills attractions and adventures.
This 2-bedroom / 1-bathroom custom cabin sleeps up to 6 and features upscale amenities for a comfortable stay in your home away from home. We pride ourselves in providing super clean and comfortable cabins in an ideal location. The cabin is a hidden treasure for you to enjoy.
The cabin offers a full kitchen and full bathroom (tub/shower), WiFi, heat/AC, campfire pit, electric range, microwave, coffee makers, toaster, cookware, dishware, glassware, utensils, satellite TV/DVD, all linens for beds, bath, and kitchen, propane grill, covered porch, outdoor seating, picnic table, and more. For your safety there are no steps or bunk beds. Prior to your arrival, you will receive a personal key code for contactless check-in to your cabin. Enjoy watching deer and turkey from your covered patio.
Verizon and ATT towers in the area provide for excellent cell service.
Enjoy mountain and meadow views, star-studded skies, and wildlife on this picturesque 10-acre property. Centrally located to major attractions and less than a mile from Highway 16, your stay at Yak Ridge provides the best of both worlds – easy access as well as peace and tranquility. The cabin was great! All the necessities we needed and it was very clean. The owners were so kind and answered questions right away. Quiet location yet minutes from restaurants and activities. We stayed for the Sturgis Bike Rally and there was enough room for truck and trailer parking.

Serene and Sophisticated

The cabin exceeded our expectations. It was the perfect setting for our family to land between sight seeing and touring local monuments. Our kids enjoyed the campfire and the surrounding area to walk and play. Woukd recommend to anyone looking for a well-maintained, relaxing, and well stocked living space.

Great cabin in the woods

Wonderful property, central location to all the black hills has to offer. Very clean and comfortable for a family of four. Would highly recommend if you are visiting the area.

Great Stay

Our cabin was so cute and very clean! It was very private and had everything we needed. Our hosts left a cute gift basket for us and toiletries in the bathroom. I would definitely stay there again. It’s very close to Mt. Rushmore and many other attractions.

Christmas vacation

Cabin was great and seeing the farm animals was fun too. I highly recommend these cabins for anyone traveling to the area. Central location made it easy to go any direction for sightseeing or food locations. Hosts we're great and provided everything we could have needed.

Perfect little Oasis

What a wonderful quaint cabin that is in the perfect location to all of South Dakota’s adventures. Our host had everything we could have needed! The kids especially loved the campfire area. Highly recommend this perfect little oasis! We will definitely be coming back!

Perfect Cabin

We enjoyed our stay. Great location centrally located in the Black Hills. Had everything we needed. Quiet setting. Saw deer and turkeys every day in the yard. Host was friendly and accommodating.

Convenient and beautiful location

This cabin is conveniently located near popular sights and attractions in the Black Hills, while also being tucked away in a beautiful spot in the mountains. We stayed here comfortably with our teenagers and all loved the location and the cozy cabin, itself. We would love to return. Julie is a great host!

Yak Ridge - Cabin 1

The cabin was very clean and well furnished. Julie was the host and really thought of everything people may need while during their stay. The farm tour is also great if you have kids coming along. It was really neat waking up in the morning and seeing deer just a few yards away from the cabin also.

Winter Wonderland

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Yak-Ridge Cabins. While we were there during the off season, in March, 2018, there was still plenty to see and do. First, the cabins are only 5 minutes from Mount Rushmore and all other attractions are within an a short drive (one hour or less). Second, the cabins were clean and comfortable, with all essentials for a family, including, extra heaters since we were from Florida. The property was covered in snow and did not disappoint in its beautiful landscape. It was like staying in a Winter Wonderland! Thank you Julie! I hope next time we have more time so we can tour the farmstead.

Perfect little cabin

Loved this little cabin. Owners have definitely put some thought and effort into making it comfortable and efficient. Loved all the hooks around the cabin for storage. Included a suitcase holder. Enough chairs and furniture. Everything you need in a kitchen. I’m so impressed by all of it. I really appreciated the little welcome kit with snacks. There are visitors brochures for local attractions and a large map. It’s very well thought out. The outside fire pit area has chairs and a large picnic table. There was a picnic table cloth. It is far enough off of the highway to feel secluded and not hear any traffic but still extremely close to vacation attractions. Only regret is not having enough time to tour their family farm. Definitely on my list for next time we book here!

Perfect location and beautiful

Check in was easy and the cabin was move in ready with welcome package for the bath, in the fridge and information about the area. Minutes from the major attractions and 20 minutes from Rapid City. Enjoyed the fire pit in the evening and gthe quiet at night. Definitely recommend Yak Ridge and would stay here again!

Short stay, but wonderful

The cabin was just as listed. Very clean and well stocked with all of the necessities and some fun extras. It is a small cabin, and there isn’t a lot of storage space, but it should be just fine for most people. We were on the tail end of a three week trip, so we had large suitcases and a ton of extra stuff. Property is wonderful. Lovely to sit on the deck and watch the deer. Very close to Mt. Rushmore, without being in the middle of all of the tourists. We were able to beat the crowds by going early and then go back at night to watch the lighting ceremony. If we’re ever back in this area, we would stay here agajn.

Fabulous Trip!

What a beautiful cabin! We stayed in cabin 1 during our stay. It’s located near just about everything we wanted to do. The cabins are clean, cozy, and cute! We enjoyed the quiet nature and sitting by the bonfire. Julie is an amazing host! Our children loved the farm tour and feeding the Yaks and chickens. We will definitely be back! 5 stars!

Cute, clean & well stocked cabin

These are super cute cabins! More of a high class stay. They were in great location in woods with deer walking around and about 10 mins from town & Mount Rushmore. Well stocked in my opinion with snacks & coffee, toiletries, soft towels, information & maps regarding all the surrounding points of interest. She is very well organized & timely in responding to inquiries. Had a great time. Would definitely stay again.

Peaceful perfection

This was the perfect spot for our family on our South Dakota vacation. The cabin had everything we needed and was conveniently located to all the spots we wanted to visit. We loved waking up to wildlife every morning and the fire pit at night. If we ever venture back to South Dakota we will definitely see stay here again.

This was a terrific stay and a terrfic location. Julie the host was very gracious. The cabins are absolutely adorable. To see all of the sights for our first time in SD this locations of the cabins could not have been better. I HIGHLY suggest the Yak Ridge cabins!

Quiet get away

We love that it is not right on a major highway. No road noise. Julie is a wonderful host. You couldn't ask for better service! We stayed in Cabin 1. It's cozy and has everything you need. The welcome basket was a nice touch! The yaks are awesome! Would stay here again.

Beautiful!

This cabin is absolutely lovely! Away from the crowds but close enough to everything. Julie is very kind and nice, she gave aus a short tour through the property and always responded to our messages super fast.The only thing is that the sofa bed was not so comfortable. I would strongly recommend this place!

Jim and Julie are your hosts. We are blessed to have lived in the Black Hills for nearly 30 years. We raised our two sons (now grown) in the the area and together have enjoyed hiking, biking, swimming, boating, camping, fishing, hunting, rock climbing, skiing, snowshoeing, exploring, and so much more of what the Black Hills have to offer.
Jim and Julie have owned the property since 2014. The cabin was custom built in 2015.

To that end, and in light of the ongoing pandemic, our enhanced cleaning and sanitizing protocols align with the CDC. We continue to monitor CDC guidelines so that we can make adjustments to our protocols as needed.
