Matapouri Coastal Charm Beach House

Escape to this charming Bach located in picturesque Matapouri, a 40-minute drive to the coast from Whangarei. This two-level home, built in 2021, is situated just across the road from the tranquil estuary ideal for kayak's, paddle boarding or swimming. You can also cross here to the main beach at low tide or swim across at high tide. The Bach deliver a modern beachy design combining functionality with a touch a luxury and relaxing atmosphere. An open plan kitchen, dining and living space are on the second level, providing breathtaking views of that estuary, especially a morning high tide or evening sunsets bouncing off the lush New Zealand bush on the headlands. The house features four cozy bedrooms, each with a queen bed—two upstairs and two downstairs—making it comfortable for guests to feel right at home. No matter if it's a summer escape or a winter getaway on the cards, the Bach will welcome you with year-round comfort either the doors wide open in the summer or firing up the woodfire burner in the cooler months to set that ideal holiday temperature. There are two bathrooms with showers and toilets, conveniently located on both levels. You can enjoy large decks, great for socialising with friends and family on those long summer days. Plenty of grassed area for a game of Kubb or Pétanque. A BBQ is available for your use. Our location is a perfect get away, either taking a gentle stroll to the Matapouri Store to treat the family to an ice-cream or a 11-minute drive to Tutukaka where you can dine at Snapper Rock Restaurant & Bar, Marina Woodfired Pizzeria or the traditional Anglers Fishing Club restaurants. Take a picnic to stunning Whale Bay or walk the headlands track where you will be blown away by the scenery and views out to the Poor Knights Islands and more. Please note that there is no cleaning service available, leaving the house ‘left as found’.
