The Loft

Enjoy our centrally-located studio nestled within historic North Chattanooga. A short walk from the North Shore, Renaissance Park, Stringer's Ridge, and downtown, The Loft is a great base to explore some of what makes Chattanooga special. The Walnut St. bridge is nearby and gives views of Coolidge Park as well as the cliffs under Hunter Art Museum where you can see climbers free soloing over the water. You can even rent one of our paddleboards and explore it for yourself! Hope to see you soon.

THE SPACE:
This space was probably just an attic when the house was built in the mid 1940’s- it’s anything but an attic now. This newly renovated studio apartment houses a king size bed as well as a double sofa sleeper. The table comfortably seats 4 guests for dining, and our work station allows for distraction free work if you must. While the primary residence is a local family home, the Loft is a completely separate space you will access from the alley behind the home.

Out back there’s ample room for two vehicles to park, and we’ve included a charcoal grill and fire pit for you to enjoy.

GUEST ACCESS:
Guests have access to the gravel lot, deck, and studio apartment.

PLEASE NOTE:
The alley to The Loft isn’t too long, but it is narrow and a little bumpy. There are about 10 steps between your parking spot and your bed.

The space was great for us for our short trip. We did not spend a ton of time other than sleeping here! I appreciated the fridge and microwave. This was our first experience staying in a place where the owners were present. It was great! My only complaint was the mini split—it’s right when you come in and doesn’t do a whole lot for the bed area. We ended up buying a box fan to use, which was fine. The alley you take to get to this place is bumpy and narrow, but easy to find. We absolutely loved the location—it is super close to one of our favorites-Coolidge Park and also close to downtown! Overall, it was a great stay in a quiet, nice neighborhood.

This place is fantastic. It is centrally located on the northshore and very private and quiet. Justin is a gracious host and the place is tastefully appointed with all you need. Grab this one while it lasts!

Justin was very communicative and the listing was described perfectly. Pictures were accurate and the hone was clean. The private entrance was a plus as we arrived late, so it allowed us not to disturb the host. Would certainly stay again if we ever return to Chattanooga.

Very nice and clean. Quiet and peaceful. Area is located close to a lot of places to visit and experience Chattanooga. Communication with hosts was great and they were very helpful with working with me as I had some trouble with my truck when I arrived. They checked on me to be sure I had everything I needed.

On the positive side the room was very clean and nice. There were free bottles of water which were already cold in the fridge. That was very nice as we ended up in Chattanooga on a record breaking heatwave. The room stayed nice and cool.The only real problem we had was actually finding out how to get to the room. Though the address leads you to the house. It does not lead you to the room. In order to find the entrance to the Loft room you must go up a side street (the one before you get to the house, if you are coming from the city) in order to reach the "back alley" which is where the entrance to the room is. When you turn into the back street it is the first turn to your right. This actually looks like it is a driveway. It does turn into an alley way which is very narrow. My suggestion to the owner would be to put better directions to your guest as to how to get into this back alley. Also it would have been nice if there had been a sign which told you that you were at the correct place. Just a sign saying "Welcome to the Loft" would have been great. Having said all that. It was a great 4th of July. The room was comfortable and the area was quiet. Just a few tweaks and you could easily clear up the directions.

Our stay was great and host was very helpful! The tv remote was a little finacky and the couch doesn't fold down all the way but still very comfortable and we would definitely book again. It's in a good distance to everything as well!
