Nice location

Location was well suited for attending a Penn State football game, as well as exploring downtown State College. Quiet and a bit rustic. Perfect for a couple. Host was very responsive and accommodating.

country stay close to town

Clean and quiet spot close to State College. We were in town for the weekend at a sporting event at BJC. Great spot only a few minutes from downtown and still out in the country. Hit up the Naked Egg for breakfast, delicious.

The Graef Cottage is a lovely, quiet studio set up, with a full kitchen, washer/dryer, and room for four in beds, or for a tailgate weekend, a few more on air mattresses would work too. Alan (owner) was very accommodating, and my family and I enjoyed both being close to State College, but also being away from there enough to enjoy the peace and quiet (and dark sky!) of the countryside.

Good location, pictures match description

Overall a good stay. Owner was very nice. The deadbolts on both entrances did not work which was not wonderful with having kids. The tub was needing some cleaning and the sheets had hairs on them. So overall just some cleaning and then it’s a 5 star.

Great property close to State College

My wife & I came up to visit our son for the whiteout football weekend. The property is a short, easy drive to State College. It was clean and exactly as advertised. The owner lives in a separate house on the property, which made check-in, check-out and and any communication very easy and convenient.

Weekend Stay for PSU Family Weekend

First, I cannot say enough kind words about Alan…he’s responsive & on the ball! We booked this property for 2 nights to visit our Penn State Freshman son for Family Weekend. It’s about a 15 minute drive to campus (so completely manageable). The pictures online are very accurate. We slept comfortably, all appliances worked, place was clean, etc. We had only 1 major complaint, the door locking. The lock is standard ‘twist’ on the handle plus a deadbolt but the ‘twist lock’ doesn’t work and the deadbolt doesn’t have the ‘attachment’ to lock/unlock. We finally found a way to shove the door closed and twist a ‘nub’ to get the door locked but it’s not an ideal situation. I’m sure Alan has already addressed this. One watch out: the couch/chairs are very worn/saggy, so while I think the couch is billed as a potential bed, I wouldn’t want to be the one sleeping on it. And lastly, for bonus points, Alan, I think pulling the weeds along the entry way would go a long way to saying ‘welcome to our place’. Alan, I wrote this b/c I received an email in your name asking for my input. Please know that this feedback is given in kindness, appreciation and well wishes. Best, Nancy

Quiet Cozy Cottage Close to Campus

Stayed here for the first time for the PSU/OSU game. Just about 7 miles from campus, and all the amenities needed for a weekend stay: full kitchen, super-comfortable bed, updated bathroom, and plenty of space to move around. We spent little time in the cottage as we were out with our boys and tailgating most of the weekend, however, had we needed to spend more time here, the rental is comfortable and roomy, not at all cramped, and more spacious than other places we've stayed. Our host, Alan, and his wife Deb are friendly, and Alan was easy to communicate with and very accommodating. He made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. We have already re-booked for additional dates, and would highly recommend this VRBO. Thank you, Alan and Deb!

Very clean, large space, great host, overall great experience

Alan is a great host. He met me promptly when I arrived in town and handed me a set of keys. The space is quite large, and all of the amenities made for a wonderful stay. This quite little farm cottage is perfect for any football weekend especially when its only 10-15 minutes from downtown. 100% recommend!
