Welcome to Basecamp Rapid—your cozy mountain-themed getaway in Rapid City! This charming 2-bedroom single family home with a sofa sleeper sleeps 6 and offers easy, step-free access on one level. Nestled near downtown and just minutes from Hwy 16, it's the perfect launch point for your Black Hills adventures.

Welcome to our thoughtfully designed 2-bedroom home, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring! One bedroom features a queen bed, the other a full, plus a comfy sofa sleeper in the living room. Enjoy meals in the combined dining area or cook in the fully equipped kitchen. A full bathroom and in-unit washer/dryer add convenience. Outside, unwind by the gas firepit—yard updates are in progress to create an even better hangout space!
Bedroom 1: Queen bed, closet, dresser, 43" smart TV, side tables, ceiling fan, room darkening shades, luggage rack, & mini split for maximum comfort
Bedroom 2: Full bed, closet, dresser, 43" smart TV, ceiling fan, room darkening shades, luggage rack, & mini split for maximum comfort
Living Room: Queen sized sofa sleeper, 65" smart TV, ceiling fan, room darkening shades, & mini split for maximum comfort
Dining Space: Four spots at an eat-in bar area located off living room near the kitchen
Kitchen: Fully equipped kitchen with a stove, double oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, cooking basics, all cookware, a regular coffee pot, coffee & tea supplies provided
Bathroom: Fully stocked bathroom with tub/shower combination, fresh white linens, soaps, basic cosmetics, hair dryer, & paper products provided
Laundry: New stacked washer and dryer are located in the kitchen with laundry supplies provided (Please use respectfully)
Heating and Cooling: The home is heated with a central furnace and a mini split in each bedroom and the living room to ensure maximum comfort. The home is cooled through the mini splits and ceiling fans in each room.
Parking: Three small vehicles or two mid size vehicles can fit on the driveway front to back. Otherwise there is street parking in front of the home or guests can park off the alley at the back of the home. NOTE: The driveway is quite steep. If you have a low profile vehicle you will scrape the bottom. You may want to utilize street parking or alley parking. We are working on getting this issue resolved.
Remote Work: We offer high speed internet throughout the home. The eat in bar serves as a great workspace and there are many outlets throughout the home so finding a comfortable work area is easy.
Outdoor Enjoyment: We have a gas fire pit and six chairs to enjoy time outside around the fire. We are working on a plan for a patio, cover for the patio, and a fully fenced yard coming fall 2025.
Extras: All of our cleaning supplies are accessible for your use during your stay, two pillows, sheets, and a comforter are provided for the sofa sleeper, and we also have a pack n’ play to use for littles
Attention Riders: Sturgis Rally 2026 is August 7th-16th. If you're looking for a comfortable, quiet place in the evenings away from the comotion, this place is for you. If you're traveling with 6+ guests, we will allow for tents in our yard for an additional guest fee.
Guest Access:
As our guests you have access to the whole house and everything in the house to use at your discretion, respectfully.
The only areas that are off limits to our guests are the locked owners closet in the main hallway inside the home, cabinets above the bedroom closets labeled “no guest access” and the locked shed outside the home.
This space has been thoughtfully designed with our guests in mind so we hope you enjoy all the things we offer and treat our home as good or better than your own.
Interaction with Guests:
We will not be available in person. Should you need anything at all, please reach out to Abby through Vrbo messages.
Other Details to Note:
Seasonally our lawn mower will be around the exterior of the property taking care of the space on Monday evenings.

Size: Keep in mind this home is small, 672 sq ft. Every inch of the home has been designed with guests in mind providing the most functional use of the space possible. The home most comfortably suites four adults but a small family with four or less children could find this home suitable as well.
Use of the Home: The primary function of this home is to provide a "Basecamp" for visitors exploring Rapid City, The Black Hills, Mt. Rushmore, and other nearby tourist attractions. Remote workers and traveling professionals will also find this home suitable for their needs with each room fully equipped for privacy and individual entertainment needs with having its own TV and storage space. We do NOT allow locals to rent our house except for relocation purposes. No other local residents of the area will be allowed to rent our home.
