Another great stay on Corkum's Island! We made great use of the little beach this time, exploring around the island with our canoe. The house tolerated the heat pretty well, and we look forward to our next visit.

Beautiful location. Gardens were lovely, the smell heavenly. Caroline was easy to work with and gave excellent recommendations. We would stay again!

Corkums Island cottage

The owner should complete more preventative maintenance so guests do not have issues. Better cooling system in the upstairs bedrooms would be beneficial as it can get very hot even with fans.We enjoyed being near the water.

We enjoyed our stay at the apple orchard cottage. The house was spacious and had lots of character. Natasha was quick to respond to any questions I had. Only comment as others have mentioned was that we did find it hot upstairs while sleeping. Thankfully Natasha has a big standing fan in each room which helped somewhat. The location was fantastic being just a short drive into Lunenburg and other south shore locations including the Lahave ferry to enjoy the shops and bakery there. We also enjoyed watching the deer roam the property at their leisure.

The house was in a great location. However the 6 of us feel that the house should have been cleaner than it was, the air conditioning did not work and there when I wrote the owners to inform them that the air was not working I received no response

Family getaway

Our family stayed at the beach house. It was as listed, beautiful, clean and quiet. Close to town but very peaceful in the evenings. Would 100% stay there again.

Location was great!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Apple Orchard Cottage in Lunenburg. Location was excellent. House was well equipped and comfortable for our group of 5. Quick drive into Lunenburg. Absolutely loved the breeze that blew through the house on beautiful sunny days!

Favorite location on the south shore!

This is our second stay here and we loved it again! Corkums Island is so quiet and peaceful, while still being close to everything you'd need in Lunenburg. The cottage has everything you need. Bedrooms are big (and there are really 4, the extra one is small but very usable), it's dog friendly and the heat pump makes a huge difference. It's not an Instagram star or anything, but it feels lived in and cozy in a way that the black-metal Ikea-filled places can't match.

Perfectly peaceful spot

This house in Apple Orchard Lane is spacious and well equipped. We saw the sun rise over the water each morning which was just magical and we enjoyed seeing lots of birds and deer in the garden. Lunenburg is a fantastic town to visit, so picturesque and accessible. Everyone we met was pleasant and polite and so very helpful. Great holiday all round. .

Everything was good except the house was musty and no A/C upstairs. Natasha was helpful. House had everything we needed. Location excellent.

Alex & Carla Run a 5-star Luxury 65' Catamaran in the Caribbean. ( Alex loves to be on the ocean. His expertise in sailing is coupled with a detailed understanding of the Caribbean Islands and knowledge of little-known beautiful spots. Sailing is second nature to Alex. He learned to sail at the age of 6 and as a teenager, he raced across the Atlantic on, a 74-foot ketch. This set the course of his career (as a captain). He has sailed over 260 000 miles including 15 ocean crossings on a variety of vessels. For 12 years, Alex ran a 140 Topsail Schooner on a first-class private charter in and around Lunenburg. Alex and Carla represent over 30 years in the charter business and over 10 years in high-end culinary service. Carla's culinary creations reflect her dynamic personality and joy in connecting with people.
Her menu offers mouth-watering delights from around the world, prepared from fresh local products and presented with a unique flair. She skillfully pairs each plate with wine to ensure a well-rounded dining experience.
Carla has always loved to cook, helping out in restaurants in her youth back in Italy. Her creations are part Italian home cooking and fine French dining contrasted with exotic Thai cuisine. Her passion for food led her to obtain her formal training at Ashburton Culinary College, London England. Before meeting Alex, Carla worked on a number of Super Yachts in Europe where she hosted the famous, wealthy, and business elite. Carla is a lifelong learner, continuously challenging herself to broaden her spectrum of food. To this end, she has expanded her scrumptious repertoire with specialist courses in Vegan food, Indian cuisine, and Kosher considerations. She thrills her guest's pallets with sophisticated nutritious foods with a unique twist creating a fusion of geography or a juxtaposition of traditional and modern. I first came to Lunenburg in 1984 I was just 17 years old and fell in love with the place. I said then that one day I wanted to buy a house here and in 1999 that dream came true.

The location of this house gives you country style living yet close to the ocean and just a short ride to the historic town of Lunenburg. Easy to get to by land or sea and just an hour from the major city of Halifax makes this my perfect getaway spot.
