Kolibrie Huis (“Hummingbird House”) is a thoughtfully designed, fully detached 250-sq-ft tiny home offering privacy, comfort, and calm. This fully furnished retreat features two beds, a full kitchen, in-unit washer/dryer, and a private patio—ideal for executives, nurses, medical professionals, and students seeking a peaceful mid-term stay in the Bay Area.

Monthly discounts (from 10%-20%) are automatically applied for 31–90-day stays.
All utilities included, pre-furnished, with complimentary weekly cleaning for longer stays.

I had a great stay! Kolibrie Huis was a perfect tiny house. It was clean, well equipped, comfortable, and centrally located. The garden and private patio were very peaceful with real hummingbirds around.

Immaculate home. Every detail was carefully thought out. Great quiet neighborhood close to lots of great places to eat, visit, have fun. Poetry Slam in Berkeley, Brewery up the street, great breakfast recommendations provided.

What a beautiful place! Inside was immaculate and cozy with well-labeled cabinets and plenty of towels. Lots of morning sunlight streaming in and hummingbird feeders all over the yard. I especially liked using the electric fireplace to warm up after a night out. Kristie was a very kind host and accommodated me after I arrived in the evening due to a delayed flight.

We enjoy sharing our peaceful and private tiny home in a hummingbird-filled yard.

We chose this neighborhood in Oakland’s Dimond District since it's a peaceful, residential neighborhood tucked in the foothills. It offers the best of both worlds — quiet, tree-lined streets and natural beauty, all within a vibrant city.

With views of the Oakland Hills, frequent hummingbird visits, and access to local cycling routes in the hills, parks, running trails, archery ranges, and horseback riding trails, it truly feels like an urban oasis.

This area enjoys a sunny microclimate, making it ideal for enjoying the outdoors year-round, while still being close to great food, culture, and community spots.

Centrally located, the commute times by car are reasonable: San Francisco ~35-45 mins; Lake Merritt 8 min. Bay Area bus lines 5 min walk.

Set against the backdrop of the Oakland Hills, this serene space welcomes regular visits from hummingbirds and offers a sense of calm rarely found in the city. The custom-designed tiny home completed in December 2024 features a one-of-a-kind mosaic mural created by a local Oakland artist, a private patio, and a tranquil backyard — making it feel like a hidden escape in the heart of the East Bay.

We've always felt that there's a natural feeling of zen in this space. Being surrounded by nature, hummingbirds, bird sounds, the hills, cool breezes, and the signature redwoods soaring high above, there's a sense of something greater than ourselves out there.
