Champagne & Ice is located in the Powder House Pass community, a quiet and scenic mountain neighborhood nestled in the northern Black Hills just outside of Lead.



This thoughtfully planned area offers a peaceful, residential feel with wide roads, wooded surroundings, and beautiful views, making it ideal for guests looking to relax while still being close to adventure. The neighborhood is popular year-round and attracts visitors for skiing, snowmobiling, hiking, ATV riding, and exploring nearby historic Deadwood.



Guests also have access to the Powder House Pass Community Building, which includes shared amenities such as a heated, year-round pool—perfect for unwinding after a day in the mountains.

Please note this is a quiet residential neighborhood, and we kindly ask guests to respect neighbors by observing posted speed limits and quiet hours.



Getting Around:

Champagne & Ice is located in the Powder House Pass, a mountain community just outside of Lead. Having a personal vehicle is strongly recommended, as ride-share and public transportation are very limited in this area.



Parking: Free on-site parking is available in the driveway and garage, with room for vehicles, trailers, and winter gear.



Winter Driving: From late fall through early spring, roads may be snow-packed or icy. All-wheel drive or four-wheel drive is recommended, and snow tires or chains may be required during heavy snowfall.



Local Travel Times (approximate):



Terry Peak Ski Area: ~5 minutes



Lead: ~10 minutes



Deadwood: ~15 minutes



Spearfish Canyon: ~25 minutes



Sturgis: ~30 minutes



Fuel & Supplies: Gas stations, grocery stores, and restaurants are located in Lead and Deadwood—plan ahead, especially during winter storms or late evenings.



Trailers & Recreation: The neighborhood is trailer-friendly, with easy access for snowmobiles, ATVs, and outdoor equipment.



Driving the area is part of the Black Hills experience—expect scenic mountain roads, wildlife crossings, and incredible views year-round. Please drive slowly and cautiously, especially at night and during winter conditions.
