Beautiful cabin on a beautiful lake. Has everything you need for a fun and relaxing time. Easy access to beach for small kids and older family members. Located very close to Northville so you can quickly visit shots and restaurants. The owner and property manager’s communication was wonderful from booking until after we left. Would definitely stay again.

Breathtakingly beautiful and peaceful place to stay!

This location and home was very comfortable and so very peaceful. I stayed with a small group of friends and family for the weekend. We were able to enjoy the lake, sit by a fire, and go for walks, take a run, and just enjoyed each others company. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our meals and the space afforded us alone time if we needed. Truly a beautiful and breathtaking place to stay. Thank you for the wonderful memories and hospitality.

Even though the weather didnt cooperate we made the best of our vacation. The lake was frozen so we were able to ice skate and ice fish. We made campfires and just enjoyed being together with the family.

Amazing week!

We had a wonderful stay at Brian and Carolina’s house. From the inside to the outside it was wonderful for our group of 11 (6 adults/5 kids). Enough beds and baths for 3 different families. The kitchen was and great room were very spacious. The screened in porch was gorgeous and we were all able to eat meals together. The lake with the dock was spectacular. My only recommendation would be that more water toys(kayak, paddle boards, paddle boat) be provided and lights to line the stairs and walkway to the beach. It was an amazing week and we look forward to staying again soon!

Stephanie thank you very much for the great review. We will address the lighting on the steps ASAP and get something installed, so thank you for the recommendation! Regarding the water toys, as much as we wish we could provide more, the liability of providing such items simply becomes a challenge. We do provide a kayak and assist where we can in renting anything else locally. Thanks again and we certainly hope you and your family return!! Thanks!

This was our first time at Lake Sacandaga, and we were absolutely thrilled! The house is beautiful and fully stocked with everything you need for a perfect lake vacation. Everything was clean, comfortable, and very well maintained. The yard was gorgeous and sloped gently down into the peaceful lake—ideal for swimming, relaxing, or just enjoying the view.We rented a boat for the week, and our teens had a blast tubing and water skiing. The lake was quiet with very little boat traffic, which made it even more enjoyable and safe for the kids.Evenings were just as special—we loved relaxing by the firepit, roasting marshmallows, and making s’mores under the stars. We had a group of 10 people and there was plenty of space for everyone to relax and enjoy lake life. We truly had an amazing time and will definitely be coming back next summer!

Summer Vacation

Brian was so easy to communicate with and always very responsive. The property manager MaryAnne met us there at check in, went over everything and was an absolute peach. She was available if we needed her but we did not. The house was gorgeous and well maintained we had no issues all week. This was our summer vacation with another family. There were 9 adults in the house and we had plenty of room.

Great vacation home

Pictures online do not do this property justice. Have usually had opposite experience, but house is much more attractive and functional than it appears on website. Well supplied kitchen and appliances. Good beds and linens. Delightful and responsive property manager. Beach more rocky than expected due to low level of lake. No canoe available as suggested on website. Dock access shaky, especially for kids, with low lake level. Would certainly recommend and return for family vacation.

Ron thanks for the great review and feedback! My apologies about the kayak. Our property manager advised us on the small hole that had been created by guests dragging it along the rocks. We did obtain a loaner once it was brought to our attention and will get the current one fixed or replaced. Yes the ever changing water level will always reveal unwanted rocks later in the season. We always make sure to adjust the dock accordingly so it is always deep enough to use to access the water. Our aluminum dock is much safer and more secure then most of the homes who have floating unstable wood docks but our short access ramp is something less stable. I will look into it the off season to see how it can be improved. Again thank you for being perfect guests and respecting our home, we hope you and your family return in the future! Couldn’t have been better

I can’t say enough great things about this property. The cabin is gorgeous and quite large. We had three families staying here together and it never felt over crowded. We spent so much time fishing both off the dock and at other locations around Lake Sacandaga. We rented a boat one day and rode around the lake. We also found a mini golf and bowling alley not to far away for the kids. Great ice cream at the million Stewart’s in the area. :) And of course s’mores and chilling around the camp fire almost every night! Brian and Marianne could not have been more hospitable and attentive to anything we needed. But we did not need to reach out to them much for anything as everything worked great at the house. Highly recommend this house for large families looking to spend time together.

A Beautiful Place to Enjoy

This vacation rental exceeded all of my expectations & was a total delight for my family. The house was beautiful, spacious & very clean. Since there were 10 of us including grandkids, there was plenty of room. The kitchen was fully equipped to cook & modern. The waterfront views from the house were gorgeous, & we enjoyed them from the the large deck, the large enclosed porch & the beautiful great room. Being outdoor lovers, the grandkids enjoyed swimming in the pristine water, fishing off the secure dock, playing along the sandy shore & of course evening campfires with s’mores. They wished we had more time to enjoy the ping pong table & foozball table inside. Brian & Carolina were so wonderful to work with from start to finish. They were friendly, easy to reach, helpful & responsive. We had a terrific family get away & hope to be back soon!

House is nice - not our type of lake

House is nice but a little pricey for the lake! It has everything you need. Great firepit. Yard needs a little work. Host is very helpful. We found that the beds were impractical and the air conditioning system not great - basement is very cold while the loft is very warm. Not our favorite lake - depth levels inconsistent. Floating / rolling docks not practical or comfortable. Lake is windy and choppy and lacking good destinations. Wakeboarding and tubing must be done in the morning hours. We didn't catch a single fish from the dock. We still had a good time!

Good house but a few things to know

Overall our group really enjoyed our stay at the property. We had young children (2,3, and 4), people in their 30s, and people in their 70s. The property manager was very responsive to the issue we had and addressed it immediately. One thing I definitely want to mention is that while the place is listed as 5 bedrooms (counting the open loft as a bedroom), there's a room in the basement that is a decent size and only has a foosball table in it. We moved the table to the side of the room and put a mattress from the bunk room on the floor and it was a perfect extra bedroom for one of our children. If I were listing the house I'd call it a 6 bedroom. We have a few pieces of advice for future renters. First, make sure you pack water shoes. The water is great but it's pretty rocky and we were all very happy with our water shoes. Second, there is no actual dining room, just the tables on the enclosed porch. If you're going to have very hot weather (we had a few days in the 90s) it's good to have a fan or 2 to blow some of the cool air from inside the house out there, because there's no AC on the porch. Finally, the beds are just mattresses on top of plywood, no box spring under them. It wasn't a huge issue but for people who have back issues or trouble sleeping, it's good to know about in advance. We all liked the house and would go back again.

Carl thank you very much for the great review and advice for future guests! While our porch is a true 4 season room, it does have two ceiling fans so I will make sure our property manager recommends reversing both ceiling fans on the porch to pull air in from the adjoining room if needed. This is the first time it has been an issue so we will be sure to address it going forward. To all future guests, please note we do have what are considered platform beds that were designed to be used without box springs as newer mattresses do not require them. That being said most are "medium firmness" to try and accommodate most, as preferences can vary. Carl thanks again, we appreciate all feedback as it can only help us improve on our guest's overall experience. We hope you return!!

Brian is a caring & attentive host who made certain our long awaited extended family vacation was successful. The accommodations are clean, comfortable & complete. The home and surroundings are picturesque as advertised. The kitchen furnishings are complete but not cluttered with the leftover consumables as you may find at some rentals. We prepared family dinner nightly and enjoyed the meal & time together in the expansive 3 season room.GSL is a special place we discovered for the first time and our group of 10 want to thank Brian & assistant Mary for making sure our questions were answered & guiding us at check in regarding the home, local opportunities and what is expected of us as renters. Also, they are just really good kind people. Thank you! We shall return.

-Larger private lakefront beach compared to other rental properties (100').
-Full home generator to provide power in case of power outage. On average lake region loses power 1-2 times a year due to heat waves or storms.
-Home located on section of lake that sees much less wind in the afternoon making swimming and boating much safer and more enjoyable directly in front of home.
-Home conveniently located close to large chain grocery store and only 2 miles to convenience store for basic "quick fix needs". This a major convenience to guests compared to other properties which are not located near immediate shopping.
