We had a great stay overall and truly enjoyed our time in Gulf Shores. We chose this home for its proximity to the beach, the canal behind the house for fishing, the price point, and the photos—and the location did not disappoint. Being able to enjoy both the beach and canal made for a memorable vacation.That said, there were a few issues worth noting for future guests. While the home looks beautiful in the listing photos, some aspects were misleading. Several kitchen cupboards were broken, did not close properly, and were screwed shut, limiting their use. We also found dirty dishes put away in the cabinets, with food still stuck on them, which was disappointing.The bedding was extremely thin, making nights cold, and the pillows were very flat and uncomfortable. Additionally, the drains in the downstairs bathroom were slow to drain, and the living room remotes did not work until new batteries were installed.For a home that accommodates a larger group, the kitchen trash can was quite small—especially for a family that prepared and ate most meals at the house. Lastly, we were unable to use either the indoor or outdoor fireplaces, which was unfortunate during a winter stay.Overall, we had a wonderful time and loved the location, but some maintenance, cleanliness, and comfort updates would significantly improve the experience and better align the home with its listing photos.

We had a great time; the outdoor area was wonderful! House was clean. Electric Can opener was broken and hand held one was hard to use. Loved 2 types of coffee pots. We will return!

Location is everything

Unplugged is one of the best locations on West Beach Blvd. It is very close to everything, Pier 33 (groceries and supplies) in walking distance for last minute items. Even though it is on the bay side, it is only 1 block to beach access--again just an all around great location. Unplugged is equiped with everything you need for a great Beach vacation.

Beautiful home!

We loved the beach area out back for the small kids to play in while the adults fished off the dock. We also loved how the kitchen was equipped to cook for a large family. And the location near Pier 33 was awesome. It was lovely being so close to the beach, although there is not Beach access until a couple blocks down the street. But we made it work. Overall stay was amazing!

So Fun!

Perfect house for us! We had kids from 6ths all the way to 17yo and they loved it. FYI bring your own seasoning. Also bring extra toilet paper and paper towels. We were provided with one roll of each and went through that quickly. Overall was a great stay.

My family’s annual vacation was great! This house is tastefully decorated & has plenty of room for two families. It sits in a convenient location with a short walk to the beach. The house has everything you need to cook & eat if you want. We enjoyed our stay

Property is very unsafe!!!

I’m not real sure where to start. Not sure if I should be angry at Vrbo, Itrip,or the owners of this property. And none of the reviews or the description of this property did say anything about flooring that you had to step up or down. The drops in the floor were poorly marked Old rugs that needed to be replaced. We had to rearrange furniture. Friday night my sister-in-law fell. I contacted I trips and all they said is sorry we could call Maintenance out. On Friday, I talked to another employee of ITrip She expressed that she was very sorry but again didn’t offer any resolution. I even inquired about trying to get something documented on paper. They acted like that was not possible. Saturday after my sister went down to the pier and came back up the stairs and turned to the left. There was a drop off, she fell and hurt herself badly. I tried to call ITrip again and the first guy answered the phone so I hung up. I have been on the phone for a week from 30 minutes to 1 hour each call. Still not getting results. All they tell me is that it’s been expedited and the homeowner has been notified. Please do not book this property until repairs have been done. I’m not sure how you will know because in the description, it has nothing stating unlevel flooring throughout the house. The rugs were old and we had to move the furniture to make sure no one would trip over the rugs. I am very disappointed after seven years of booking through VRBO that we had to experience this.

Great Beach Home

This is our 4th winter staying in Unplugged. We love the location of this home, even though it is a block off the Gulf Beach we love the small sandy private beach, access to the bay and especially the easy access to the bike trails. Unplugged is an older beach house but has been kept up to date nicely. It is always clean and feels like "home" to us every winter. Many thanks to the owners and especially iTrip employees that respond immediately to any situation that arises.

Best vacation ever.

The house was amazing. We had 6 adults and 4 children under 7 years old. as soon as we arrived the kids were so excited. The bonus room with the 4 twin beds was absolutely perfect for the kids and the whole set up was great. The kitchen had everything we needed and the beds were good. My only complaints if I had to choose, is that I would have loved to have had a gate on the second balcony exit (for safety purposes only due to the kids.) but we were easily able to block it off with a bench that was available. And we would have loved to have a better grill set up. Very close and easy walk to the beach. The grocery mart/beach shop was a very short walk from the house. Everyone agreed that it was the best vacation ever! The kids are already asking when we can go back to the “teal house”. Thank you!

Unplugged - The most beautiful green

A great bonus about Unplugged is that it comes with a high chair, pack and play and kids toys (for the beach and indoors) and books. There is even a kids play area with a pint-sized table and chairs. I can't overstate how helpful this was. I loved the layout of the common areas. The home is very large with multiple groupings of chairs and sitting areas. The dock along with the grill and picnic tables and swings, were so relaxing. The guys fished and fed fish to the herons who visited every day. The water provided a wonderful view. The 3-block walk to the beach was not too taxing. We rented a wagon to haul all of the beach chairs, umbrellas and cooler which were also rented locally. The kitchen was well organized and labeled, so cooking and cleaning up were were that much easier. My only complaint was the lack of supplies. I have stayed in quite a few vacation homes in several states and have never seen such a lack of basic supplies as I did here. ALL other places have provided a couple of rolls of t-paper (we only had 1 per bathroom), and other necessities such as plastic wrap, plastic baggies, aluminum foil, coffee filters, salt pepper. There was no liquid hand soap, only a few teeny bars, no cleaning sprays, etc. We spent a small fortune to purchase AND LEAVE BEHIND things the owner should have provided. We did have a few minor maintenance issues which were resolved immediately.

Family Trip

We had an awesome time. Relaxing and enjoyable. Mostly seniors 60+, two 31 year olds, and our 1 year old. Space was wonderful- clean, well kept, stocked, easily accessible. Gulf shores is so much fun. Would absolutely visit again!

Unplugged was perfect!

It was perfect for our family with a short walk to the ocean. The market across the street was convenient and the back yard was peaceful and relaxing.

Unplugged and loooost

We got here and got lost in laughs and fun! I wish we hard pictures to share but we left our phones behind. The pictures of this property just give you and idea, they don’t do this place justice. There was space to play in and out fully stocked with all the stuff that you’ll ever need in a kitchen!

Good location for walking to beach

The location was good. There was enough room for all 10 of us-5 adults and 5 children. The house could have been cleaned better and the appliances need updating. The dryer does not dry until after at least 2 cycles and the refrigerator was not very cold. The pans need to be gone thru because some of the cookie sheets are very rusty and need thrown away and replaced with new.
