Spacious Bancroft Cottage- Private Lakefront / Sauna / In Town

Our traditional cottage is perched high in the trees for spectacular views to enjoy with your morning coffee on the deck and provides ample privacy from neighbors. The perfect family vacation spot with 3.5 bedrooms that sleeps 6 adults comfortably with additional bunk beds for the kids! Only minutes to Bancroft centre with all the amenities you need for groceries and supplies as well to enjoy the restaurants, brewery, cafes and boutique shops. Our no-motor boat lake makes for clean & safe swimming, kayaking or canoeing. The area around the dock is clear of weeds and about 6 ft at the end of the dock with a sandy soil bottom. Minutes to the nearest ATV/Snow mobile trails. Yoga & massage available at Grail Springs Spa across the lake.

NOTE:
-We suggest you bring your own Beach Towels, since our laundry capacity is limited and we cannot supply large towels
-Our beautiful view does come with many stairs down to the water and is not recommended for those with mobility issues
- Water is not potable and we will supply your first jug of bottled water
-Mature groups and families only

HOUSE RULES:

Long weekends require a minimum of 3 nights booked.
Summer Rentals: Require minimum 7 day rental Sun-Sun.
Winter Rentals: Be careful in snowy conditions as we have a steep hill on the laneway to access the cottage. Winter tires are required in snowy weather and 4 wheel drive is recommended depending on weather.

House must be left in the same condition as found. All garbage must be taken with guests upon departure. Local dump is open FRI,SAT,SUN,MON. Please do a sweep through and make sure any messes are cleaned before leaving. Additional cleaning time required for messes left behind will be charged at a rate of $50/hour. $20 fee will be charged per garbage bag left behind.

Local bon fire bylaws must be monitored and followed. No wood/plant debris on the property is allowed to be used for fires.

Not suited to parties or noisy groups.

Great Escape

An amazing place to escape from the world without travelling too far. There is lots to do nearby and the set up of the cottage gives you good amount of privacy from neighbouring cottages. Host is readily accessible and very helpful. Would definitely recommend!

Lots of space and great fishing off dock.

Overall great experience. Lake is wonderful, quiet, and safe to canoe in. Good fishing off dock for sunfish and bass. Many mosquitoes, but expected for Ontario! Thank you, Ali!!

Quiet Lake, Bancroft

We really enjoyed our 2 week stay. The sauna was great and a smaller lake with no power boats made it so peaceful. Canoe and kayaks were used daily. Cottage was roomy and fully equipped. The series of steps to the water may be too much for some guests. The new dock could use a ladder for easier water access.

Gorgeous View

Loved the lake had no motorized boats and view from all levels was gorgeous. Did not use the dock as I would have liked as it was quite a walk down from the cottage.

Cleaning charge should be 1/4 of actual.

Only major complaint - place needs a major cleaning. Under beds, couches and overalll should have a thorough vacuuming and scrubbed. Tried to vacuum but not very powerful. Mattresses could use an upgrade. The location was great. Canoe and lots of life jackets. Lots of out door chairs up top and shore line. Clean clear lake, great for swims.

A perfect weekend getaway

We stayed at Ali's beautiful cottage for a girl's getaway weekend. The cottage is lovely, a little rustic but definitely has everything you could need. The lake is stunning, we swam and barbecued and enjoyed a fire under the stars and would climb into the sauna (which does take a while to heat up - about an hour) and just had the most perfect weekend. The only thing item we noticed which we would have loved to have is a ladder for climbing back onto the dock after a swim in lake, but other than that, our stay was perfection!

Great family getaway

This cottage had everything we needed, including lots of rooms and 2 bathrooms so we could all have our own space. Gorgeous lake, clean and very few weeds made for great swimming and paddle boarding. Super quiet area so if you’re looking for tranquility, this is a great option. Very short drive to shops and restaurants in Bancroft. Host was quick to respond and helpful. We would definitely book again. Our kids are 12 and 14 and we all agreed it was our best cottage trip yet! Thanks Ali!

Beautiful natural setting

We had a lovely time. The house was well-appointed and comfortable; the natural setting was gorgeous -- very restorative. Ali was extremely prompt with any questions and very helpful. The proximity to downtown Bancroft was quite convenient, yet we were in a very private and quiet setting. We loved the fact that no motorized vehicles are allowed on the water. We swam, canoed, and kayaked. The water was lovely. Very convenient to have firepits and picnic tables at two different levels (although we only ended up using one). We missed having a dishwasher, but it was not a big deal. We had a great week.

Amazing stay in Bancroft

Exceptional stay - our host provided excellent communication and was super responsive! The property was wonderful - very private, peaceful, clean lake and great swimming! Very clean and well equipped. Good wifi allowed for working remote. Everything you could ask for! We stayed for a month and made wonderful memories. Will definitely be back again.
