Experience authentic Hawaiʻi Island country living blended with Japanese culture and hospitality at our one-of-a-kind retreat in Keaʻau. Set on 6 private acres, this beautifully updated 6-bedroom, 3-bath estate offers the perfect mix of tranquility, adventure, and cultural immersion. The home was recently refreshed with new paint, lighting, and fixtures throughout for an elevated and comfortable stay. 

 The Space: 

2nd Floor (Main Living Level) The second floor features soaring open-beam ceilings, a spacious great room, and access to a wraparound lanai with stunning views of the lawns and forest that surround the property.

- Bedroom 1 – Master Suite (Sleeps 2+): King bed, Smart TV, dinette, private bathroom, and lanai seating—plus extra space for a pack-and-play or futons for kids 

- Bedroom 2 – "The Bunk Room" (Sleeps 5): Queen bottom bunk, Full top bunk, Twin trundle, Smart TV, desk, and lanai seating 

- Bedroom 3  – "Bamboo Room" (Sleeps 2): Queen bed and lanai seating. Breathtaking view of the front lawn. 

The Space: 1st Floor (Ground Level): 

The downstairs space offers a cozy and playful vibe with vintage island-themed décor and a spacious recreation room the whole family will love.

🥅 Full-size soccer goal and huge grassy field for family scrimmages - **From Jan 2026, all or part of this area may be closed for renovation project.  During your stay, we will either pause work or coordinate to work on the days you plan to spend most of the day adventuring the island. 

🏸 Playground swing set, t-ball, badminton, and plenty of room for your own games (equipment provided) 

🌳 6 acres of walking trails—pick fresh fruit along the way: papaya, pineapple, starfruit, avocado, lemon, lime, and more (seasonal) 

🔥 “The Fire Shack” – Rustic Gathering Spot Enjoy late-night hangouts or daytime barbecues in this cozy fire pit area away from the main house.

Whether you’re soaking in a tub under the stars, enjoying a yukata photo shoot, or playing soccer in the sunshine, this Keaau Country Estate offers more than a place to sleep—it’s a place to grow closer, unwind, and create unforgettable memories. Come experience the wind, the land, and the love that lives here.  

The entire main home and full access to the 6-acre property will be yours during your stay if the listing is shown as available. This is my primary residence, rented only when I’m away. If you’ve found it available—consider yourself lucky! Please enjoy and care for my home. I love it here, and I hope you will too. 

🌿 Exploring the Property 

You are welcome to explore the gardens, walking trails, and open outdoor spaces, but access is limited to the Main Home only. 

Please explore with caution—this is real Hawaiʻi Island countryside! You may encounter lava rock, loose gravel, mud, weeds, and terrain that shifts with the weather. 

The property is not wheelchair accessible, has many steps, and uneven terrains. 

Garden tools, yard equipment, and building materials stored near other structures are off-limits. 

Old chicken coops are not safe—please do not open or play in or around them. 

The two smaller homes at the front of the property are long-term rentals. Please respect their privacy and do not enter those areas. Enjoy the land with care, curiosity, and aloha. 

** Yard maintenance may need to occur during your stay.  We will coordinate with you to plan the best day/days to be on-site.  We can plan to work on days you plan to be adventuring around the island.

*Please let us know you if you will need any of the additional bedding items at the time of you reservation 

- Up to 3 Futons available for children needing to sleep on the floor in the same room with parents 

* Please message us if your guest count changes after the initial reservation was made. An additional $50 per additional overnight guest will be collected upon check-in via Venmo. 

- 1 pack and play crib and 1 folding high chair available on site. *Please let us know if you will need to use them during your stay. 

- We have 3, 6' foldable tables, 1 child size picnic table available for use during your stay 

- Many lawn chairs and misc tables scattered outdoors that you are welcome to use and move around 

- A "Fire Kit" including starter paper, kindling and fire wood for 2 fire experiences is included with your stay.

**Cancellations and credit card refunds within the cancellation period will be charged the credit card processing fee (Approx 3%) to the cancelling party. The host is charged this expense by the booking platforms (VRBO, Airbnb, etc) for any credit card charges processed, even for refunds.   An invoice for the processing fee and payment via venmo will be sent to cancelling party.
