The Floaty Potato is a luxury canal-front retreat where coastal comfort and adventure come together. Located near the end of a quiet deep-water canal with direct Gulf access, this 3-bedroom, 2.5-bath home is designed for families, boaters, fishermen, scallopers, and nature lovers seeking an elevated getaway away from the hustle and bustle of the big cities. And yet... within an hour's drive to Tampa or 1.5 hours to Orlando, Crystal River is the best centrally located location!

Enjoy the year-round solar-heated pool (electric available when requested for an additional fee for the winter months), lounge beneath the covered lanai, or set out from the private stationary and floating docks for fishing, scalloping, boating, and peaceful paddling. Autism-friendly accommodations are available upon request.

The Floaty Potato is not just a place to stay. It is a launchpad for adventure, a home base for wildlife encounters, and a place where families create memories they return to again and again. Tandem Bike Safety:
The tandem bike is significantly more difficult than it appears and is best suited for athletic and experienced riders. Helmets are not provided, so guests should bring their own if they plan to bike.

Pool Heat:
The pool is equipped with solar heating and a solar blanket, provided year-round at no additional cost, and optional electric pool heat for $40 per night, delivered via an electric heat pump that operates during daytime hours. Because electric heat pumps rely on ambient air temperatures, cooler winter nights can slow the warming process and may limit heat retention, particularly at the start of a stay. The electric pool heat fee applies to the nights of the reservation and covers the operation of the heating system; water temperature cannot be guaranteed. Our goal is to have the pool between 80-85 degrees. Cold winter nights of 45 or lower may hinder this goal from being achieved. The pool heat fee includes the added utility costs as well as the maintenance and wear associated with operating the heating equipment.

Trademarked Merchandise:
The Floaty Potato is the only rental in Crystal River with its own trademarked brand. Guests may enjoy select merchandise inside the home and purchase additional items as souvenirs. Check out our ETSY store called THE FLOATY POTATO.

Never Flooded:
This home is one of the few canal properties in Crystal River that has never flooded, offering rare year-round peace of mind.

Featuring more than 30 beautiful indoor plants and a warm, inviting coastal design, the home provides a calming, intentionally curated atmosphere that feels elevated, refreshing, and truly welcoming for families. This home is NOT sparsely decorated like many short-term rentals.

Kayaking Note:
Three Sisters Springs, Kings Bay, and the National Wildlife Refuge are accessible as a relaxed half-day paddle from the home.

SAFETY AND HOUSE GUIDELINES

All guests are required to log into our guest portal to sign our Rental Agreement, where your ID will be collected.

Pool and Child Safety:
Child-safety locks on all doors leading to the pool.
Adult supervision is required around all water areas
Indoor floors, pool edges, and docks may become slippery when wet

Water Safety:
Never swim alone
Avoid alcohol near water
Life jackets are required for kayaking or paddleboarding and are provided in multiple sizes

Boat Lift Rules:
Not for general use
Guests must request access in advance
The Boat Lift is FREE for approved guests
Guests must sign the user agreement

Home Rules:
No smoking (inside or outside)
No fireworks
Professional pest control is provided, though insects may still be seen due to the waterfront location
Use Couch Covers if you have young children or pets to keep the white furniture white!
The ONLY chore is to take the garbage out on Garbage days (Wednesdays)

Security Cameras:
Located at the front entry and facing the canal only. No cameras are inside the home or in any private areas.

PETS AND SERVICE ANIMALS

A Service Animal Informational Document (ADA-compliant, no fees) is suggested to read for guests with service dogs.

Pet Policy — Dogs Allowed!!

We welcome well-behaved dogs. An additional pet fee and a signed pet agreement are required.

Rules & Requirements
• Dogs only — no cats (owner allergies).
• Maximum of 2 approved dogs per stay.
• Combined dog weight must be 110 lbs or less.
• If over 110 lbs combined, you must bring or purchase an additional kennel.
• Dogs must be kenneled anytime they are left unattended inside the home.
• Provided kennels: 24”, 36”, and 48”.
• Provided for your convenience:
• Dog bowls
• Leash
• Kennel mat
• Paw-cleaning tools
• Mandatory couch covers (must be used if dogs are on furniture)
• Fenced backyard with waste bags and scoopers.
• Please clean up after your dog.

We strive to keep The Floaty Potato clean, safe, and enjoyable for all guests—both human and canine!
