Captain's Cove

The Space:
Visit Captain's Cove and experience all the creature comforts this quaint vacation gem has to offer. The condo itself is laden with niceties, highlighted by its huge balcony with views of the natural landscape and the lovely Intracoastal Waterway. The spacious open floor plan is tastefully decorated and features a fully equipped kitchen, dining table for four, and living area complete with a mounted flatscreen television. Both bedrooms are welcoming and cheerful with a king-size bed in the main bedroom and a queen in the second bedroom. The main suite is extremely roomy and has an adjoining bathroom with a walk-in shower.

WHAT'S NEARBY
The Captain's Cove Complex with its 27 waterfront condos is conveniently located in Indian Shores, Florida. It is a three-minute walk to award-winning beaches featuring emerald turquoise waters and sugary sand beaches. This property overlooks the Intracoastal, teeming with activity. You'll see everything from fishermen to dolphins and speed boats to blue herons. The complex sits back off of Gulf Boulevard giving it a more private and quiet feeling. They were built in 2002 making them one of the newer complexes in Indian Shores. You will enjoy the private tropical heated pool with guest baths and the private fishing pier and dock.

Indian Shores February 2024 Stay

This is a clean and nicely updated condo with close walking access to the beach and all the space and amenities for a small family with two bedrooms and two baths. We'd stay here again

Only ok

Condo was dusty like no one had been there in weeks, fire alarm chirped all day, no hot water first day. Could have been better. No lienens for pull out couch.

Indian Shores

Great location, very close to beach, balcony view of intercoastal. Spacious 2 bdr 2bth. We have stayed in Indain Shores many times, first time at Captains Cove and we loved it!

Great location and lots of space!

Had a great stay....only complaint was the weather! Rained on us for the first couple of days but great after that. Location is perfect. Everything is within walking distance.

Wonderful Stay!

We were so impressed with the property we will try to rent it again next year during the same time frame. I did notice that the properties rent has increased considerably and wondering if there was any ability since we just completed our stay to get a discount for being repeat renters for the same unit. Again we loved the place and it lived up to the description on the website.

Such a great week!

We actually had 3 adjoining units My husband & I were able to enjoy a week with his sister & our 4 children & their families. There were a total of 11 adults, 3 toddlers, an infant & 2 small dogs spread throughout the units. What a blessing. Despite the redtide warnings, the beach remained accessible throughout our stay & only fish kill off the intercoastal was the day we left. Very plesant surroundings & fun pool access. Well appointed & well stocked unit with decent wifi at the front, none in the master bedroom.

Vacation getaway

At first after reading a recent comment about bedbugs I was very nervous but after talking to the office they assured me the condo had been shut down and treated multiple times and that the owners had stayed to confirm everything was well and the first thing I did before I brought anything inside including my kids was go in and check and we had no issues! Condo is nice, beds are a little firm but very close to beach access and sitting out by the bay early morning is so peaceful! My biggest complaint is that the first and only time the main shower was used it was clogged and did not drain, I called to have Maintanance come fix it but was told it wasn’t urgent enough and they would send someone Monday... that’s when we checked out so all though I rented a condo with 2 bed and 2 bath we all had to share the master bedroom shower! Other than that was an excellent stay! Parking garage is a little tight but we made it work!

Bed bugs

Upon arrival it was confusing about where we were suppose to go. We figured it out we went into the condo and it was very hot in there. We always check for unwanted guest and we found them in the couch in the living room. We didn't want to stay with bed bugs so we contacted the manager and they offered to give us a full refund but that didn't help at the time we were out 700+ dollars and no where to stay. They didn't have another property for us to go to. The also refused to put us in a hotel for the night and it was 9pm when we got there. We are still waiting for the funds to be deposited into our account. They stated it could take 3 to 5 business days.

Great Spot to relax!

We loved this property and the view. We met a great Blue Heron on the dock we affectionately named Harry who would fly in and hang out about a foot away from us when we were boat watching. The pool was so relaxing and kept very clean. We had some minor issues (smoke detector beeping) but the number to call was easily found and was taken care of promptly. The kitchen was well stocked to make dinners when we ate at the condo. I loved having a wagon, beachtowels, beachchairs to use to go to the beach. We loved it here!

Indian Shores - Great Visit

We stayed at this location for a little over a week. It was the perfect spot. The beaches were not overcrowded. The condo was great - only complaint was that the beds were uncomfortable and you can hear every step the upstairs neighbors take up the stairs. Definitely recommend!

Sink, shower and products

When we arrived there was a dead cockroach in the drain that came up from the sink. Kids were freaked out about that. There were no others found. No cleaning products left, except unbranded dish soap and a couple of packets for the dishwasher. I had to go out and buy bleach to clean the shower and tub which I left. Shower handle didn’t work properly, the shower wouldn’t shut off. Had to wait for maintenance to fix it. Had to order a new handle, and came back the next day. They did get it to stop running the first day. No coffee for the keurig machine, but I left some for the next guest. No laundry products for the washer and dryer, but if you used the beach towels, you needed to wash them or get charged. The King bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious. The cleaning lady did leave a ripped sheet on the bed though, which I was a little shocked. Kids were going to sleep on the sleeper one night and watch tv....they opened it up and said it was stained and disgusting. Location was great. Parking spots were really small. When we were leaving, I noticed the person that parked right next to me in the guest spot hit my bumper. The taillight and bumper were popped out. Property was close to the beach access. Just a quick walk.

Walking Indian Shores

The property suited our needs we loved the location. Never stayed so close to the ocean before. My husband and I walked the beach often and then loved how you could then enjoy a restaurant and walk the beach home. We did have some noisy neighbors upstairs with heavy foot fall, but we realize this may be what condo rental would be like. Thanks for a nice get away. Would book again but perhaps stay on the top floor if possible.

Great value for your money.

Spotless. Exactly as portrayed. Beautiful view. Great access to beach. Grouper sandwich at Dog and Parot was fantastic (although place lacked atmosphere). Please be aware that you can hear neighbors... including going up and down the stairs. All in all a great value for your money. We would definitely go back.

Over the years we have stayed in various condo's in the area and especially in Captains Cove. This one is one of the best. Location perfect for us.

Nice but some issues

The property has its perks but there are some negatives that we discovered. The view is great ,the unit is spacious and well equipped. Location is wonderful ,near small convenience stores, restaurants,other shops. Access to the beach is basically right across the road. The negatives are. The floors were sandy and dirty. The bifold door on the second bedroom kept falling off. The keypad would not work a lot of the time. It seemed the moisture from the day would cause the keys to stick so you would stand there and try to punch in the pode without success because the keys would stick. Sometimes up to ten times. The walls and floors are very thin so it was very loud from the upstairs neighbors who were not very respectable to anyone below them. They blasted their stereo or tv loudly. You could hear every step they took above. You could hear them opening and closing doors. It Seemed as though they thought they were living in a single family house with the noise they made. I probably would not stay here again. The issues of the floors and repairs can easily be remedied but the neighbors probably can’t be. It appeared they were permenant residents because the guy got up and seemingly left for work in the morning.

Comfortable , nice, clean.

Very nice and comfortable condo, clean swimming pool, very close to the ocean. In the kitchen, you can find anything you need but I wish there will be more paper towels and dishwasher detergent ( there were only 3 single packs ). Also, we have to contact teeming vacation about the floor ( it was a dirty little bit ) but they send housekeepers right away. Faster than hotel response to a problem. Great impression about our vacation and about that condo. Renovated, no smell. We have enjoyed every moment leaving there. Will return next year for sure! We just check-out today but already missing so much that lovely place. The booking process with Teeming vacation was AWESOME! Great company!

Extremely Clean and Well-Maintained Condo

Our family of 6 stayed in this unit for 10 days. Not a single problem. It is very clean and nicely decorated. Parking is close as well. The pool area is nice and was never overcrowded. It is very conveniently located. A short walk and you're toes are in the sand on the beach. A short drive to the popular John's Pass area. A short drive to many local restaurants, as well as, our favorite chain restaurants. A short drive to many shopping areas and movie theaters. And, an easy drive to the airport. Our family gives this place a 5 star rating for sure.

Extremely clean , great location

The condo was well stocked and extremely clean. We loved the balcony. The updated appliances and hard floors throughout were a definite plus!

Great View but layout of the apartment is not the best

Positives: 1. Living and Kitchen space is great. View from this space is exactly what the picture shows 2. Apartment is neat and clean. 3. Parking space was not an issue. Negatives: 1. It's a railroad type of apartment with bedrooms in one corner and living space in another. 2. There is no view from the master bedroom or the second bedroom. 3. Entry to get into the apartment is really strange. I had difficulty finding where the entrance to the unit was. Most IMPORTANT THING: This unit was listed as Handicap Accessible on VRBO and it's on second floor with 13 steps. And these are no elevators. I have limited mobility so it was a huge pain for me to go up and down. Unit owner did apologize for this mistake and told me they will get this corrected right away. But just be aware of this.
