Dog-friendly cottage across from the water in a walkable neighborhood

New in our program, this home has many great reviews from past guests.

Full of the classic charms of North Carolina's Crystal Coast, this adorable cottage brings breezy comfort to any Beaufort escape. This is a place to spend your days sipping coffee on the front porch swing, strolling downtown, and relaxing at sunset in the spacious and enclosed yard. This cottage boasts a fenced piece of property across the road from Taylor Creek, about three-quarters of a mile from historic downtown Beaufort. You'll be within walking distance of the Island Express Ferry Service, the North Carolina Maritime Museum, the Beaufort Historic Site, and a variety of shops and restaurants. Public beach access on Radio Island (less than four miles), Atlantic Beach (eight miles), and Fort Macon State Park (10 miles) are close by as well.

Built in 1945, the house is bright and inviting, offering generous windows, hand-painted coastal-themed artwork, and thoughtful updates throughout. Highlights include a polished kitchen with stainless steel appliances, a formal dining room, and a living room where you can curl up with a good movie or a book from the shelves. After a day at the beach, come home to toss your swimsuits in the washer/dryer, unwind in central air conditioning, or linger outside on the porch with appetizers and cold drinks.

definately pet friendly, old and dated but awesome location and very clean except shower doors are stained. nice fenced inyard and comfy porch. Rental company very nice and quick to respond. Guest bed does not appear to be a queen, more like a double or full. Would stay there again.

Wonderful cottage!

Had a great time in Beaufort! Just a short (3/4mile) walk into town from the cottage along Front St. Cottage was clean, and comfortable. The front porch is a real plus! The next time I am in Beaufort, I will definitely try to book a stay at the cottage!

Cute cottage in great location

This cozy cottage has views of Taylor’s Creek and Carrot Island. It’s an easy walk along the waterfront to downtown Beaufort. Nice fenced yard for fur baby. We enjoyed the layout of the house for the 2 of us plus dog. Definitely will stay there again.

Cute cottage by Taylor Creek. Clean. Nicely stocked kitchen. Far enough away from the main strip to enjoy some solitude and quiet. But an easy distance to walk to enjoy a nice meal or window shop. Hope to come back soon.

The most clean property we have ever booked!

The property was as described and was extremely clean. Everything that we needed was there and the gas stove was wonderful to use when cooking. The backyard was completely fenced which was awesome since we had our dog with us. It’s an easy walk into town. We will book again.

Great Getaway

Very cosy and clean house. The bedrooms were comfortable and there was plenty of room for the three of us. The fenced in front and back yards were perfect for my dog. Walking along Front Street was the highlight of the trip! My only negative was having to deal with the secondary rental company - which was a surprise I found out only after I booked.

Cute House in nice location

The house was as described. It was very clean and the bathrooms were nice. We did not cook but the kitchen appeared well stocked. We liked the completely fenced in yard for our dogs. We walk them frequently but being able to let them out for a quick potty break is nice. If we come back to Beaufort again we would definitely stay here.

We didn’t do any cooking. We ate out all the time but the kitchen was equiipped to cook. The beds were very comfortable as were the warm showers. There were roaches in the master closet and crawling on the floor. I wish there were dressers in the bedrooms and the tv equipped to. Cast from your phone.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We're delighted to hear that you found the beds comfortable, enjoyed the well-equipped kitchen, and appreciated the warm showers during your stay. However, we're very sorry to learn about the presence of roaches in the master closet and on the floor. This is certainly not the experience we want for our guests, and we sincerely apologize for any discomfort this caused. We will be sharing your concerns with our local team immediately so they can address this issue promptly. Regarding your suggestions for dressers in the bedrooms and a TV equipped for casting from a phone, we truly appreciate you bringing these to our attention. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us improve our homes and guest experience. We look forward to welcoming you back for another wonderful getaway in the future.

We absolutely loved this property. It was close enough to walk to town which we took advantage of daily. The beds were very (!) comfortable and the furniture was modern but cozy. The house had everything we needed to cook at home a few nights also. My only suggestion would be to add a TV in the master because we couldn’t watch TV when the kids were watching it, so we found some family friendly movies we could all enjoy. The yard was also fenced, front and back, for pets.

Saltgrass Cottage

We had a wonderful stay at this little cottage👍 The king bed sleep great and the den was cozy & comfortable We had difficulty getting in the front door at times .. saw the biggest, mature roach in the master bathroom that escaped into the vent, had maintenance out to unstop the bathroom sinks, and lots of dog hair on the cushions on the porch, and the broom closet was nasty & needed to be cleaned & organized I hate to complain, but owners need to be made aware of these concerns These were all minor things, but we REALLY enjoyed out stay

Great house with a big problem

The house was well located and met our needs perfect. There was, however, an issue with the door lock — we typed in the correct code, but it would not open. We had to get someone to let us in, but not before fiddling with it in the heat for an hour. Please fix this issue so other guests don’t have this inconvenience.

The cutest little house with an excellent location! Super clean, comfortable, with a spacious backyard and large bedrooms. We enjoyed our stay!My only complaint is the lack of blinds/window coverings for privacy and safety reasons. The bedrooms have curtains which were perfect, but the bathrooms only have a frosted window on the bottom half (with a 2 story house overlooking one of them that could absolutely see in); we were uncomfortable showering in the evenings because it didn’t feel private with the lights on and windows uncovered. I also would’ve felt safer if the kitchen door had a deadbolt vs just a doorknob lock - Beaufort is a very quaint and safe city, but with just two young woman staying alone (with lots of valuables inside the house), this made us feel a little nervous. We had a great experience here, but these improvements would make it perfect!

Summer Vacation

I love Beaufort. The house was great, with all of the amenities from home. It was a great location on Front Street, but further south where it was quiet and secluded. Great fenced in yard for he dog to run and play. I only have a few suggestions for you. You need a new grill as the one that you have outside was all rotted out and rusty. If travelling with babies, having a crib as an option would be great. My last suggestion would be to have a golf cart available to use as you go further down town closer to the action on Front street. Finding parking is terrible and this would have been a better convenience for my family.

Wish it was truly "BY OWNER"

We really enjoyed this cottage. The kitchen was not as functional as we would have liked, but we like to cook for ourselves. If you're planning to eat most meals out (and you will have PLENTY of excellent choices), this won't bother you at all! We have stayed at so many VRBO properties and what we like is that they are usually very clearly furnished and managed by an OWNER. This time around, we didn't realize until we had already booked that the property is managed by yet another property manager, Vacasa. If we had wanted to book with them, we could have done so directly. There are reasons why we do not. We have already booked another stay at a VRBO property we've stayed at before, with a slightly less desirable location but better kitchen and no additional middle-management.
