New in our program, this home has many great reviews from past guests.

This spacious five-bedroom, five-and-a-half-bath home is located in Salvo on the oceanside! This home includes an elevator with beds made and towels provided seasonally.

Sprinkled throughout are colorful aquatic creatures swimming about decorating the walls on the top floor. The roomy living room area features a coffee table that contains additional seating for all your friends and family to gather. Outside is the wide top deck perfect for soaking up some rays or taking in the early morning sea breeze. Inside, the trendy kitchen features subtle coastal touches, like the starfish drawer handles, enhancing the island appeal. The four breakfast bar seats and a large 10-person dining room table are available for large families to enjoy every feast!

One of the main bedrooms is located on the top level and features a large nautical king-size bed, a step-in shower, and access to a private outside deck. Below are two more main bedrooms with queen-sized beds and a third main bedroom with a pyramid and single-sized bedroom. As an added bonus, there is an additional lounging room with a large flatscreen TV and massive couches to unwind indoors. The final bedroom has two single-size beds for maximized sleeping accommodations.

After a long day on the beach, step inside and get in touch with your group's competitive side in the lower-level game room. There is a large foosball table, skeeball table, Ms Pac-Man Arcade machine, a game table with barstools, two TVs, and a large refrigerator to house all your game-room snacks and drinks. If the competition gets too intense, simply step outside and relax in the home's private hot tub under a cool shaded deck.

However you choose to spend your vacation, this home encourages you to play hard, take big cat naps, and roam with your pride when you relax like a Lion in the Sun!

THINGS TO KNOW
Guests have access to the Club Hatteras Pool Facility, located at the Avon office address: 41156 Hwy 12, Avon, NC 27915. The pool is generally open from May 24 to September 8, from 10 AM to 6 PM. Please note that the operation of community pools is subject to the discretion of the state inspector, management, and/or the HOA. As a result, the availability schedule may change without prior notice.

Very nice stay me and my family had a great time. First beach house I’ve ever booked and the experience was nice. Check in and check out went smooth, friendly neighborhood but not very much things to do around there. Most of the restaurants were closed and not many shops but other than that the house was great.

Peaceful family & dog friendly rental

Great location that could fit my family of 10 2 dogs near the ocean! The elevator is a welcome addition for my elderly father. The kids loved the game room and the adults loved the hot tub. There was no need to fight bathrooms, since each room had its own plus the half bath. Would stay again!

Nice home but showing some age.

We enjoyed the size of the home and convenience of the elevator. The kitchen is well stocked and the kids loved the game room. The ice maker does not work but with 2 refrigerators keeping bags of ice was no problem. We had a wonderful week.

Great home for famalies

We loved our stay here. The only issue was getting my mom up the steps outside to the first floor but the elevator was great once we got her there. Kitchen was stocked well.

The house was absolutely great, communication about kitchen utensils wrong house has everything you need for utensils was told they had none, other than that i would highly recommend this property.

Good Experience Overall

Plenty of rooms and beds. Nice/large kitchen. Nice hot tub. Some things could be updated, but still a nice experience overall. The 1st and 2nd floors take a while to cool down on hot days.

Overall a good stay

The hot tub was amazing! Super close to the beach, we literally walked which was awesome. Not enough towels even though it says they’re provided with the house, select kitchen items (bowls, mugs, knifes etc.). Lots of games to play. Some of the boards to the decks were loose and unsafe, one of the sinks was leaking. Minor things, overall a fun stay! Would definitely come back!

Great layout and location

Truly enjoyed our stay at Lion in the Sand. Having a bathroom and deck with every bedroom is a game changer. Enjoyed the hot tub, short walk to the beach, and quick drive to the public sound access. We really enjoyed the empty lot behind us, giving more privacy. The shared living spaces are open and allow for separation or togetherness. There are several things that need to be improved/repaired but they wouldn't keep us from staying here again. There are beautiful decks, but only five outdoor chairs and there are no cups, only coffee mugs. I'll put others in the private feedback, because it truly is a wonderful home.

I recently stayed at this house in Salvo. The looked looked great when we first got there, but there were some quirks to it. The first thing that we noticed is, some of house did not looked clean. The carpets looked liked the were not vacuumed. No biggie until we tried to vacuum the rugs. The vacuum did not work, so that's why floors were not done. The next thing we notice was the ice maker in the kitchen. When I opened it it was filthy inside, It also did not work. The kitchen has a big hole in the one wall that was there when we arrived. The burner on the stovetop had a big crack. It did still work. We went to use the hot tub, but it had a leak. It was fixed by the end of the week, the day before we left. Do not take the mattress covers off. I will just leave that one alone. Even with all the quirks, we made the best of it. When I did get a hold of vacasa, they resonded as quick as the could. The house itself was nice and in a great location. I just believe with so many rental properties they some times get neglected which happens with big companies. This is not a complaint review. We did have a great time.

Not happy with Vacasa

The house is great but was NOT cleaned to what we have had with Outer Beaches. Sink in one of the master bedrooms on 2nd floor was leaking and had a bucket catching the water (not sanitary). Asked for it to be fixed when arrived and it was never fixed all week. The kitchen / living area floor had not been cleaned. The kitchen needs some new pots, pans, regular drinking glasses and storage bowls. Again the house is good! We were very disappointed in the lack of cleaning, things not being fixed and need more supplies in kitchen. Have stayed with Outer Beaches for years and never had this kind of experience.

Plenty of room but limited in home activities

When we first got to the house, nothing was cleaned, which was very frustrating after driving all day and waiting until the confirmed check in time of 5 PM. The cleaning staff did show up about an hour later, and I thought it was weird that they had their kids in the van in the high heat temps while they did the cleaning. It was also upsetting that the house was advertised to have a skeeball and foosball table, but the skeeball table was broken my son was very upset after a 12 hour drive to see that, and the foosball table was missing balls. Also noted some of the chairs that were out on the decks were broken so thankfully, we had thought ahead and brought our own chairs to sit in and the screen doors for the balconies did not stay on track so we couldn’t keep doors open if we wanted to. Everything else in the house was great, there was plenty of room. Everyone had their own bathrooms. I will give Eric from Vacasa a shout out. He was very helpful and a great asset to your team. We did leave the house cleaner then when we showed up.

PLEASE THINK TWICE BEFORE YOU RENT THIS HOME OR DEAL WITH VACASA REALTY

Overall, the home was dirty and in need of general cleaning; the rugs look like they have not been cleaned in months and were full of sand; the windows were visible dirty and had not been cleaned in some time; we had to go purchase two shower liners because two of them had mold on them; there was a huge pile of dirt in the middle of the floor when we arrived that we had to clean; the dishwasher had not been emptied and we had to do it; bottom drawer of dishwasher was broken; Refrigerator was dirty and one of the vegetable drawers was broken; three beds had not been made and we had to do it; there are holes in two of the walls of the bedrooms; the washing machine did not work and the repair man told us he had been here three times for the same problem but no one would authorize him to order the necessary part; there are water stains on many of the walls; there were cockroaches in one of the bathrooms; one of the downstairs bathroom floors looks like it has mold on it; the refrigerator freezer opens every time you open the refrigerator; many of the kitchen cabinet doors don't close properly; door of oven was dirty, with visible stains running down it; the handrails in the house were dirty and sticky; one of the basement walls has stains all over it; all of the outside decks need sanding, as many people got splinters while walking on it; the house only had two wooden Adirondack chairs on one of the decks, both of which were broken and had screws sticking out of them (they were so bad that when management came to view them, he threw them over the deck onto the ground below as they were way beyond salvaging - and never replaced them leaving us with 3 plastic chairs for 8 people to sit outside); many of the overhead fans look like they haven't been dusted in years; two of the toilet paper holders fell off the wall while in use; one of the toilets stopped flushing half way through our stay. Management was extremely unresponsive, and once I was able to convince management to come to the house to look at all the issues, the representative admitted no one from Vacasa had been in the home EVER to inspect it and that they simply relied upon their guests to identify issues. MY ADVICE TO ANYONE THINKING OF RENTING THIS HOME IS TO FIND ANOTHER ALTERNATIVE - DO NOT RENT THIS HOME OR DEAL WITH VACASA MANAGEMENT.
