The Brewster Cottage - Charming 4-bedroom cottage in Clayton with AC

Come enjoy all that the 1000 Islands have to offer in this two story, 3 full baths, 4 bedroom oasis! There's no shortage of natural light in this 3,000 sqft home, providing plenty of space for everyone in your party to find their own place to relax.

This home was built in the late 1980's by our family’s matriarch, Madora Brewster. She over saw every last detail of this house - from the breathtaking sunroom, the river rock fireplace mantel, to the moonlit bathtub in the master bedroom.
The space
This house is wonderful for a larger family, duel family vacation or for 2/3 couples. Perfect for families that want to take in everything that the 1000 Islands has to offer.

Upon entry, the split staircase will take you either upstairs or downstairs. Upstairs you will find the master bedroom with king bed, along with its own personal balcony and full bath. The kitchen is the heart of the home with full views of the living room and dinning room. The living room has an oversized sectional with a large TV perfect for movie nights. The sunroom is a perfect spot to have breakfast or catch up on your reading. The second bedroom on this floor on the opposite side of the house, conveniently located next to the main full bath on this level.

On the lower level, you will find the larger of the living areas. This living area has full size windows, so natural light is still abundant. We have a propane fireplace, smaller couch and TV, along with a foosball table. Set off to the side is the office/bunk bed room. Down the hallway, you will find the third bedroom with a king size bed. The 3rd full bath is close by, giving every bedroom their own personal bathroom.

*Please note that this property has no waterfront access.*

This property is unlike others in the area - we have kept our surrounding acres natural. You will see wildlife and greenery everywhere you look.

We are a short 5 minute drive from downtown Clayton, 15 minutes to Alex Bay or Cape Vincent, and just 25 minutes to the wonderful Wellesley Island.
Guest access
The surrounding tree line provides privacy, while also acting as the boundary of the vacation rental. Please find your slice of heaven in the cleared acre surrounding the lot.

My grandmother purchased this property when my father was just five years old, and every summer since, the Brewster family has gathered here — traveling from across New York State, Boston, and even as far as California — to continue that cherished tradition. Our love for the 1000 Islands runs deep, and we hope you’ll feel the same sense of pride, joy, and care that we’ve poured into our summer home.

While most weeks are still reserved for family gatherings, we’re thrilled to now share The Brewster Cottage for short-term stays. We look forward to welcoming you and helping make your time in the 1000 Islands both memorable and comfortable.

This home was designed to comfortably host one large family or two smaller families vacationing together. The split-level layout makes shared travel easy — with king bedrooms, children’s rooms, full baths, and cozy living spaces on each floor, everyone has room to relax. You’ll be amazed at how spacious it feels, even with up to ten guests — plenty of togetherness when you want it, and privacy when you need it.
