Welcome to your Seattle retreat in a quiet, tree-lined neighborhood near UW, Children’s Hospital, and Lake Washington. This 1930s home blends historic charm with modern design—bright rooms and a sunny deck with peek-a-boo lake views.

Upstairs: two serene bedrooms and two baths. Downstairs: a study that doubles as a third sleeping space or office. Enjoy fast Wi-Fi, a fully equipped kitchen, and free parking. Adjustable desks for remote work are available both upstairs and downstairs.

(Hosts live quietly in a separate basement apartment with private entry)

Guest have full access to the first and second floors of the house, including a deck and balcony off the master bedroom.

Neighborhood
Laurelhurst is a quiet neighborhood of tree-lined streets in NE Seattle. It is a 15 minute walk or 5 minute drive to the light rail station. Within easy walking distance, there is the UW Botanical Garden, a great lakeside park for walking or jogging, the Burke-Gilman trail which lets you walk or ride your bike all the way across town, bagel bakeries, a beer garden, a big cafe perfect for studying or meeting friends, a grocery store and University Village, an upscale open-air shopping mall with restaurants, bars, and fancy stores.

Nice 3-bedroom property that 5 of us stayed at for the US World Cup game in Seattle. It was very reasonably priced and the owner was very accommodating. The location is a fair distance from a train station, so a rental car or Uber is necessary to get to the property. It was in a very quiet neighborhood with plenty of street parking.

Communicating with the host was slow. A question would not get answered for several hours. We were fortunate that parking in front of the property had one space available. Each time we left to go around town we wondered if a space would be there when we got back. Some people may like a heated seat toilet, but that one on the ground floor seemed a bit too warm. Also, it seemed the hot water in that bathroom sink was not working. I believe also that a railing should be installed on the front steps for safety.The place is pleasant, and for people who want station options there are plenty from which to choose. Disadvantage, viewing comes with advertisements. The three bathrooms are convenient, next to the sleeping areas for two rooms and connected to the main bedroom upstairs. As there is but one small dresser in the main bedroom this allows for only a few clothing items to come out of the suitcases. For visitors who like to read books the selection is like a library. For guests who want to prepare food they purchased at the grocers, there is a large refrigerator on top of a freezer. when we lodged here the freezer seemed full of the owners food, so seemed buying ice cream as dessert for a meal would not work. There are three tables where guests could eat. The one outdoors on the main level deck is the most pleasant. Plum trees fill the back garden and birds are there in the early morning. The view over the housetops is pleasant, and the street is narrow with parked cars.

A truly luxurious stay in a great location. This is a retreat for a weekend or longer with easy access to UW, easy parking and a quiet relaxing stay. This is probably not the best fit for young children since there are too many things they could break. Dan, our host, was very responsive. We'll definitely look for this one on future trips.
